Unfortunately,,, when I was at MoMA a week or two ago.. this wasn't open to the public yet :[ BUT, I got to see Woman 1 which happens to be one of my favorites. Great video, great artist, great museum.
Thank you so very much, James, for the videos that you post. I seldom have the opportunity to access the kinds of galleries and museums that you feature, living as I do so far away from any large city. Please continue the good work, and thanks again.
Fabulous commentary and video James. When my bro ( whatever ) & myself saw the show a week ago ..already. I actually mentioned jokingly about you and your bike , this is James Kalm from the Moma etc. Small world we live in today. What a show ! i've waited so long to see this type of show. It's a once in a lifetime show. Amazing.
Thanks James for the video, i was lucky .... I was in New York last week and saw the show, took my time 1.5 hours there, I saw his 1960/75 paintings the Gotham News abstracts, quite incredible and the sculptures too. A must see show a true visual understanding afterwards. Thanks
Wow! this is the best yet. The oldies are the goodies. Thank you James for bringing us this. I would just love to see this show, maybe they'll give it an airing in London.
Your de Kooning Part 1 MoMA video 2011 so totally nailed this with a wide array of early de Kooning sequenced in very meaningful ways. Can't tell you how much I enjoyed seeing these earlier work close up & quite steady & in a nice rhythm. Your comments were also very helpful opening things up. The ones one usually see of his early work in NYC are otherwise the same very few & thereby so much icons it's hard to break through to see the creativity. You've broken through here… GREAT!
as always, a joy to get a mail stating ' jameskalm hat soeben ein video heruntergeladen'. that means a mug of coffee and 10 minutes joining you in ny and having a seriously good look at art. thank you so much james.
Stunning. Especially to see all those black and whites. Doesn't get better than this.
