Supporting your government when it silences or erases all minority rights, the poor, and the people who stand up for human rights doesn't mean you love your country. It means you love a government who privileges your position- you can get rich and go abroad to get your education. You don't love your country or your people or you would stand up for what was right for everybody. In reality you love only yourself, and that is what all of the protests are about- not pro-China, but pro-yourself.
