its weird how many inocent victims have died, and not even a single person has been found responsible for these murders. I think and have always thought that some of the curupt copss have part in this theres no dought azbout that in my mind. it's sad to see this I live across the border and i dont even feel safe anymore to cross over. We dont even see the beasuty of mexico anymore because of all the vilence, murders, and now with innocent people mfrom tx and mexico dying randomly.
Actually, there are individuals who have been found responsible. However, the majority of them are family members and friends who confessed in the process of being tortured. So found responsible? Yes. Actually guilty? Probably not. But Mexico's corrupt system, like that of many other countries, leaves us in doubt and wondering who the real perpretators are. :(

I'm a woman, i'm from Mexico...i thank this country for being good to me..and I just have a question...why in this country most people worries about helping the middle east, africa etc. and why NOBODY try to help us? we are your neighbors, we are right next door...we are emigrating because we need to eat, we need to escape.
I honestly sympathize for the people of Mexico. There is so much corruption there. Its really hard to help there because of the government and local police in Mexico have people that work with criminals. If people donate money to Mexico who knows what that money will go to. Not all countries are perfect and the US has its problems of its own. The US is currently fighting the drug trafficking on both sides of the countries. Thats one they are doing.
but Mexico isnt asking for money, why the fbi cant help? where are all those organizations, with all respect due, I think the biggest problem of US is that they worries for the countries that they can explote (economy) why are they worried NOW for the drug trafficking? because they have been busy on wars that werent needed, instead of educating its people to avoid the purchase of drug...if there is no demand, there is no sales....
By "this" country do you mean the US? If so, I can tell you why. Because of our "friendship" with Mexico. The bottom line is the US benefits from trade with Mexico so much so that the government doesn't want to risk aiding people who are suffering in Mexico, since that would suggest that the Mexican government isn't doing their job in protecting their people, and well, God forbid we make our "friends" look bad!
...we know how the government in mexico works...some people say: stay and your country and fix it!..but we all know, we can't do it only by going to vote..we need help..I want to apoligize for my writing, i'm not the best, but i try to do it with all respect.
@latino4lavida hi, wondering where you got this number? do you have any official source since im doing a project on this it could be of great help.thanks
I was in juarez this summer visiting relatives and all I can say is you can feel the violence when your out in the streets. I never went out at night, but even in the day you could feel something wrong. There was also pictures of missing girls on every store which is really sad, I hope something gets done about the violence.
This is pure explotation. It is sickening the way heartless bastards will use the death to agrandize themselves. Corporations had nothing to do with the killings!!
Another disgusting thing is that few women get killed (for whatever reason) and it is a crime against humanity; whereas thousands of men get killed and it is bussiness as usual. This shows the expendable nature of men in the minds of women.
Actually, some corporations DID have involvement! Some factory bosses were paid to inform abductors of release times for women, so that all they had to do was sit and wait for the girls to come out. Also, this "crime against humanity" as you put it isn't just about the death aspect of it. It includes the fact that many of these women were raped and tortured before being killed.
However, I do agree that whether man or woman the authorities (police and/or gorvernment) should bring justice to their deaths. Finally, please don't make any generalizations. I am a woman and have certainly never considered any human being (man or woman) as expendable!
This is a lie by that time its was in the 1,000's that had been murdered. I would know I live in the border city of Juarez, El Paso Tx. The reason the media will not say the truth is because it will affect the major corporations there and perhaps people would finally realize that the NAFTA treaty is a horrible one that exploits other countries for their cheap labor, especially women. Those companies don't want to deal with protesters and etc. Horrible
my God this is soo sad, and i've only heard about this after listing to an advert. for the 2666 book.
After reading the comment no one seams to asked what factories/global corporations are in the area any links for further info?
I doubt it a serial killer this something bigger like organised crime - the police is probably too scared to do anything as the bosses prob getting paid to look the other way.
wtf u say its powerfull peaple doing the killings so then in mexico the government aint worth shit, what a shame look at the sep 11 attacks here in the us and the american government stood up for our country! its so awfull that these women lost there lifes and most of all left kids and family behind the mexican government should step it up and put and end to it i dont hes wanting to put a stop to it it just sounds as if hes behind the whole dilema
its not even 420 women killed not nearly half of what it really is
as a matter of fact it is for 3,000 women who have been raped and killed, there has not been many changes for this no one wants to face it because it is actually powerful people who are doing this and that is why the government doesn't want to deal with it. Stand up for the mexican woman and help prove justice instead of just standing there and saying how horrifying it is.
How can anyone compare the killing of women in Juarez to abortion? Totally 2 different topics. Are you quite nuts? innocent women are murdered and raped. A woman has a right to decide when and if they carry their baby to term? Would you want to keep a baby if you were raped by your father or your brother or raped by a strange man? Is it a cell or is it a fetus? Let me say... you decide... get raped and fucked by your father and see if you still think it is wrong to have an abortion?
How many women out there feel ashamed of the thousands and thousands of innocent unborn children who they kill in abortions? I bet you don't spend much time thinking about that AnonymousCoward.
More men are murdered than women every year, but when women die we have to have big investigations and massive soul searching. It's as if the suffering of women is more important, more uncivilised.
No I'm not infected by Catholicism I'm infected by truth. Tell me what the difference is between a fetus at 6 months and a newborn baby- the scientific difference? Fetuses are killed when they are fully formed- all the organs are there, they can feel pain, they can hear in the womb. If a fetus is born prematurely it has a 53% of surving at 6 months. Yet legally you can kill those HUMAN BEINGS.
They may be a few cells just after conception but at what point do you think a fetus is human?
So a human is only human when it's conscious? My uncle was in a bike crash and in a coma for 3 days. Does that mean he wasn't human? Unborn children can feel pain and they can hear,. that means they have consciousness of some kind.
When a child is born it is barely aware of what is going on around it: does that mean it can be killed?
And I do think it's terrible that people are being killed in Juarez, as 9/11 was terrible. You ENFESIZE the killing of women and you don't care when women kill.
so. Thats really not normal that you can do aboriton untill the 6th month. In Switzerland, u can legally do it untill the 3rd, everyday more is crazy. U really should be ashamed of your countrys rules.
1996 this video was filmed. I've seen photos in the same Colonia (Anapra) taken in 2006/2007 that shows the same landscape, poverty and lifeless everything.
Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done. Revelation 20:11-13
My feelings go out to any who have to deal with this personally.
I've just read 2666 by Roberto Bolano and am stunned to realise that his book is based on this. He says what eseuno1 says, that the money-leaders are covering up their excesses. What horror.
buenas noches amigos..In my opinion..the leaders of Ciudad Juarez and the American Co.CEO's are to blame along with the cartel. The leaders and CEO's only want money and cheap labor...perfect place. The local police are owned by them-hence their reluctance to interfere.Greed and a cruel sense of ownership of human life is the fuel for these animals..it's too bad the American cops don't get involved(or maybe they are)and resolve this travesty.Viva Mexico and Viva Los Estados Unidos..take care
My mom told me a story that when she was in her late teens, a guy offered my mom and her friend a ride late at night after work. My mom refused and took the bus and my mom's friend was found murdered the following day. This was in Cd. Juarez
Latin america is machista. Most of men in latin america are sick towards women. Most men want to rape & kill one, n consider them extremely inferior. I say it's because it's true. I blame catholicism for it.
@Svartdoden well put. you can never really specify with a particular region, race, or even gender. this shit happens everywhere, and both men and women get in on it. it breaks my heart.
There were 420 women killed!!!!!!!?????? I cannot believe it. This is truly appalling. I had heard about these horrific murders but had no idea it was that many (1 murder is one too many) something must be done.
theres been corruption all over the so they want to do their bad habits outside this land fucking faggets dont they know some body more big is watching them///
I tried to post a link to fox news but it would not post my comment. Some guy has confessed to some of these killings. Google "Man Admits Killing at Least 10 Women Along Border" .
I really did not understand what was goin on there I saw this movie called BORDERTOWN with jenntifer lopez..she played one of the girl in it it was a sad movie..when it finish the survial comes out and talk about her experience....
In 1968 my mother came from City of Delicias Chihuahua ( la colonia, Terrazas), Mexcio, to worked as a live in maid for a black family in El Paso TX. She was sixteen years old at the time and didn't speak much English much less understand it.
She cooked & cleaned and mainly took care of the couple's child while they worked during the day.On many occasions she was groped and inappropriately touched and even unable to feel comfortable taking a shower because the gentleman would walk in unexpectedly.
The couple had many friends & family members (brothers & nephews) that would come to visit due to his career. It was then that one took advantage of her and raped her. She didn't know the attacker's name much less the relationship to the couple. I don't know the exact details of the attack, but I do know she was violated and it was not consensual. But this is how I was conceived.
My mother was to afraid to report it to the authorities due to being in the country illegally and remained quiet. But once the couple found out she was pregnant they asked her to leave. Not knowing anybody in El Paso other than a couple of friends who were also working as maids , she went back to Mexico to give birth to me despite the fact that I was conceived here in the US.
I grew up not knowing who my biological father was, but always knew the name of the family that my mother worked for. We've made a trip a couple times (the last time was roughly 2 years ago) to try and meet with them to get information on who my father might be. They've given us the run around and are not cooperating much. It wasn't until recently that we saw a picture of one of his younger brothers on a website and he looks identically to me.
In my heart I know that's my father, but I need to prove it. I need closure. They are a very respected family since both of them work as high school coaches for many years.
For years women have been rape in this area I know from all the story my mother told me. I'm a Black man born in Delicias Chihuahua Mexico and I'm ready to do something about this problem.
. I'm going to confront this family , I know they raped many women, I know my mother wasn't the only maid rape by members of this family . If I'm right about my biological father he's a football coach and the girls track team coach.
I'll be in El Paso Texas mid August. I'll bring one rapist to justice. If there anything I can help the women of Juarez and El Paso please let me know. Thank you for reading Love Love Love
hola soy argentina and I am really shocked by what is happening in the city .. juarez truth had no idea what was happening there .... forgiveness for my ignorance
I sympathise with women and strength of CDAD juarez !!!!!!!!!
I wathced this movie called "Borfdertown" and it really got me. I thank god for giving the chance to be here in America. I feel safe here knowing that if i get killed by some psycho, my murder wont be forgotten and people will actually care. Some day, those people will pay for killing all those innocent woman, the day when God comes to earth, and puts those Bastards in hell,. They deserve it...
( Sorry for my English) The thing is: Mexicans kiss American's Ass... so Juarez is like.. the place where every psycho rich tourist comming from USA or Europe can come here and do whatever they want with poor mexicans women.. and of course, mexicans shut up the fuck because they think americans ARE GOD.. also they fucking macho and for them is more important mafia thant their woman.. scuse me.. but what a stupid country... no oofece for mexicans, just for their gouvermenent!!!!
Most of these women are hardworking women trying to earn a living in these maquiladoras ownwed by millioners from the U.S. They get paid from around three to seven dollars a day (12 hour shift). Mexican authorities are doing nothing about these killings?!!! What that does that tell you? GOD BLESS the families of these girls and HOPE that one day JUSTICE will be DONE.
I'm a norwegian girl, I'm 19 and never been to Mexico. This may not be my buisness since Im far away from everything that happend in Juarez. But when I was 16 i was raped. But that's not the point of what I'm trying to say. I did not know about this situation until two hours ago.Now I want to know if theres anything I can do to change it. I want to help if thats posible. I lived trough the worst moment of my life.Imagine how it is to die at that moment
There is a lot you can do. Make some noise about this, inform others, sign petitions online (ex. Amnesty International) that are sent to the Mexican president about this horrible crime. Let the Mexican corrupt police and government know that the world is whatching, you are the world.
true.... its soo overwhelming and scary, that no one wants to put hands in action about this, but this is no easy task, i will visit that internet site you talk about, i wont be happy with myself if i dont do anything...
It does concern us all, so thanks for taking interest!
The chain of corruption runs deep in Juárez, hence, no real action has been taken to expose those responsible for these terrible murders. But I believe that if we pressure the international community into demanding accountability, the government will have no choice but to stop covering up for those criminals.
A couple of years ago the government took very violent action against indigenous peasants and college students who were demonstrating in a village called Atenco. The international community's response was such that there was no other choice but to dispatch a UN delegation to investigate what had happened there.
The bad thing is that the authorities did not let them through until the physical injuries had lessened, and so the case could not be taken any further without the proper physical evidence. But it was something!!
its mexico just dont care about anything ok im meaxican american but i just cant stand teh mexcian goverment they still from the poor and they just make them leave there country there familey we should think how mexico is profiting from illagles here we should close the boder teach the mexcian goverment a lesson
my greatest sympathy to all the mothers that still live in this society every day. i was one of many girls that lived in that type of envioronment had my encounter of losing friends because of the government not able to give a solution to the problem that they have created. MIS CONDALENCIA A LAS MADRES QUE TIENE QUE VIVIR CON EL TEMOR AL NO SABER SI AL FINAL DEL DIA VERAN A SUS HIJAS, Y LAS QUE AN PERDIDO A SUS HIJAS NO HAY PALABRA PARA DECIR LO SINTO. In this month we are traying to find Hilda Gabriela Rivas, 16 and Adriana Sarmiento 15... and it is sad that in the internet they haven´t put any picture of them. We need to spread the word to find them... don´t let these desapearenses be forgotten once more... please
A good read about this is Rosa Linda Fregoso's article, "Towards a Planetary Civil Society." It talks about all the varying theories and frameworks used to look at the murders, including globalization. She claims that the maquiladora concept is a cliche, when in fact the majority of women murdered came from diverse non-maquiladora jobs.
omg i cant believe that this has been going on for 10 years and that i only found out about this today and that majority doesnt know..is our world really became that corrupt that we value paper more than lives of innocent people.. and please dont try to compare killings in LA with this ..this is brutality, torture , femicide.. All countries are corrupt with no exception..US ctizens were killed in Juares too why dont US help?? lets c maybe some business contract with Mexico ??/
there is so much evil and darkness in this world i not from this part of the world and only read about these murders tonight i pray that the killers and rapists be brought to justice and for the safety of young women
You know what? I'm from Juarez and I think this is an exaggeration. I mean yes 420 women have been killed in like ten years. Research the actual facts and this happened in about a period of ten years people! You have any idea how many people are killed in the city of Los Angeles, CA a YEAR? About 2000. That makes about 20 000 people killed in ten years. So 420 is a tragedy yes but... theres other cities with more crime in THE US... I think this is propaganda and dramatic exaggerations.
Yea, but these lasses are not simply shot like the average thieving crack addict in LA. These girls lasses are selected for prolonged torture and murder for no apparent reason. Juarez is the most dangerous place on earth for lasses to walk the streets alone ! P.S. I have lived in Juarez and enjoyed it immensely but theres 1 too many Jack the Ripper type characters roaming about for my liking. Cuidate !
This is just cruelty. I want justice. Mexico is so corrupted. What they are doing is wrong. Solve the murders. Put the criminals behind bars. Or just give them the deathe penalty for whta they done to those poor innocent women
What They Need To Do Is Get Help From Us. So Then In the Night We Could Send Apache Longbows And Blackhwaks with Troops To Scout The Bastereds Out!!!! That Would Really Work.
we all know who is behind the killings, the fucked up government and "the cops"or as we like to call them "los wachos".thats why nothing has been done,or is going to be.
how come the authorities did not made any actions when the number of victims continously increases..there is no excuse about these brutality and the incapability of the government to prevent this shit!!the people responsible with all of these murders and rape have a special place in hell waiting for them..may all the families of the rapers be haunted!!
jaja chilangos envidiosos, juarez es la ciudad de mas empleo en mexico, i seguimos kreciendo todavia, jaja i los asesinatos le dan mas vista todavia, juarez es mi violenta ciudad i la kiero un chingo, prefiero vivir aki, k morirme de hambre en chilangolandia, montegay o torreon
The mass killing of women in Ciudad Juarez is a massive indictment of the Mexican authorities. Official indifference/corruption/involvement has allowed some seriously psychopathic men to rape and murder innocent women for many years. Now, if it was men that were getting killed..........
People need to wake up to this.. the truth is these women get kidnapped, held by the law enforcement elite then set free in the desert at night to be hunted down by their captors for bloodsport. Chief of police, judges and Lawyers. Hence no police investigations. When the new mayor was elected he reshuffled the local agencies but the murders became 10 fold... how can we sit back and let this go on?
coolest im trying to make apoint who gives ashit wethere its in spanish or english im speaking both and spell correctly its the anger of all theses women getting murderd fore no reason say ask before u type ur words
the goverment of mexico and police just abunch of thiefs tehy will never fined this or thees serial killers reall sad i went to juarez not now about this but i have to tell u i had areally bad vibe till this day i dont now y if anybody else did let me now

This shows the expendable nature of men in the minds of women.
tepalcoana 2 years ago
Actually, some corporations DID have involvement! Some factory bosses were paid to inform abductors of release times for women, so that all they had to do was sit and wait for the girls to come out. Also, this "crime against humanity" as you put it isn't just about the death aspect of it. It includes the fact that many of these women were raped and tortured before being killed.
scarletreel 2 years ago 2
However, I do agree that whether man or woman the authorities (police and/or gorvernment) should bring justice to their deaths. Finally, please don't make any generalizations. I am a woman and have certainly never considered any human being (man or woman) as expendable!
scarletreel 2 years ago
This is a lie by that time its was in the 1,000's that had been murdered. I would know I live in the border city of Juarez, El Paso Tx. The reason the media will not say the truth is because it will affect the major corporations there and perhaps people would finally realize that the NAFTA treaty is a horrible one that exploits other countries for their cheap labor, especially women. Those companies don't want to deal with protesters and etc. Horrible
Karla201708 2 years ago 2
my God this is soo sad, and i've only heard about this after listing to an advert. for the 2666 book.
After reading the comment no one seams to asked what factories/global corporations are in the area any links for further info?
I doubt it a serial killer this something bigger like organised crime - the police is probably too scared to do anything as the bosses prob getting paid to look the other way.
there is too much evil nowadays -
I pray for peace and justice for the victims...

LOVABLEJHALIES 2 years ago
its not even 420 women killed not nearly half of what it really is
as a matter of fact it is for 3,000 women who have been raped and killed, there has not been many changes for this no one wants to face it because it is actually powerful people who are doing this and that is why the government doesn't want to deal with it.

Why don't you shut up.
You feel ashamed of being a man?
How many women out there feel ashamed of the thousands and thousands of innocent unborn children who they kill in abortions? I bet you don't spend much time thinking about that AnonymousCoward.
More men are murdered than women every year, but when women die we have to have big investigations and massive soul searching. It's as if the suffering of women is more important, more uncivilised.
As if women are superior.

And you didn't answer the question: do you care about the thousands of unborn children murdered in abortions by women?
edmund184 2 years ago
You are quite crazy, if I may say, to compare the brutal murders of Juarez to to abortion. What are you, infected thru catholicism or something ?
Women only shall decide what to do with their bodies, if you want my opinion.
What your kind doesn't understand: A few cells are NOT a human being. Period.
AnonymousCowardX 2 years ago
No I'm not infected by Catholicism I'm infected by truth. Tell me what the difference is between a fetus at 6 months and a newborn baby- the scientific difference? Fetuses are killed when they are fully formed- all the organs are there, they can feel pain, they can hear in the womb. If a fetus is born prematurely it has a 53% of surving at 6 months. Yet legally you can kill those HUMAN BEINGS.
They may be a few cells just after conception but at what point do you think a fetus is human?
edmund184 2 years ago
A human is a human when he is conscious.
For the rest, re-read my answer. I rest my case, as this is really not the place to discuss this topic.
Women reign over their bodies is my opinion, ok ?
Go to some abortion-video to discuss this, not here where the brutal rapes and murderers of women are displayed, you weirdo.
AnonymousCowardX 2 years ago
So a human is only human when it's conscious? My uncle was in a bike crash and in a coma for 3 days. Does that mean he wasn't human? Unborn children can feel pain and they can hear,. that means they have consciousness of some kind.
When a child is born it is barely aware of what is going on around it: does that mean it can be killed?
And I do think it's terrible that people are being killed in Juarez, as 9/11 was terrible. You ENFESIZE the killing of women and you don't care when women kill.
edmund184 2 years ago
@edmund184 agreed...

In 1968 my mother came from City of Delicias Chihuahua ( la colonia, Terrazas), Mexcio, to worked as a live in maid for a black family in El Paso TX. She was sixteen years old at the time and didn't speak much English much less understand it.
ricmasters69 3 years ago
She cooked & cleaned and mainly took care of the couple's child while they worked during the day.On many occasions she was groped and inappropriately touched and even unable to feel comfortable taking a shower because the gentleman would walk in unexpectedly.
ricmasters69 3 years ago
The couple had many friends & family members (brothers & nephews) that would come to visit due to his career. It was then that one took advantage of her and raped her. She didn't know the attacker's name much less the relationship to the couple. I don't know the exact details of the attack, but I do know she was violated and it was not consensual. But this is how I was conceived.
ricmasters69 3 years ago
My mother was to afraid to report it to the authorities due to being in the country illegally and remained quiet. But once the couple found out she was pregnant they asked her to leave. Not knowing anybody in El Paso other than a couple of friends who were also working as maids , she went back to Mexico to give birth to me despite the fact that I was conceived here in the US.
ricmasters69 3 years ago
I grew up not knowing who my biological father was, but always knew the name of the family that my mother worked for. We've made a trip a couple times (the last time was roughly 2 years ago) to try and meet with them to get information on who my father might be. They've given us the run around and are not cooperating much. It wasn't until recently that we saw a picture of one of his younger brothers on a website and he looks identically to me.
ricmasters69 3 years ago
In my heart I know that's my father, but I need to prove it. I need closure. They are a very respected family since both of them work as high school coaches for many years.
For years women have been rape in this area I know from all the story my mother told me. I'm a Black man born in Delicias Chihuahua Mexico and I'm ready to do something about this problem.
ricmasters69 3 years ago

AlineSanchezEspino 3 years ago 2
A couple of years ago the government took very violent action against indigenous peasants and college students who were demonstrating in a village called Atenco. The international community's response was such that there was no other choice but to dispatch a UN delegation to investigate what had happened there.

The mass killing of women in Ciudad Juarez is a massive indictment of the Mexican authorities. Official indifference/corruption/involvement has allowed some seriously psychopathic men to rape and murder innocent women for many years. Now, if it was men that were getting killed..........
1408alan 4 years ago 2
People need to wake up to this.. the truth is these women get kidnapped, held by the law enforcement elite then set free in the desert at night to be hunted down by their captors for bloodsport. Chief of police, judges and Lawyers. Hence no police investigations. When the new mayor was elected he reshuffled the local agencies but the murders became 10 fold... how can we sit back and let this go on?
