Nothing like the smell of dust burning off the tubes...too bad they take up so much room and are so heavy. I had one of these 30 years ago when I first got into radio....I don't remember it being so big and heavy :-) of course next to the IC706, it's a monster. Thanks for the comment.
I watch all of your videos, they are really great and all the equipment you have always seems to be in impeccable order and a credit to you. I owned and looked after an eddystone reciever as a kid. all my freinds had fancy digital scanners and all I could afford was the eddystone, I loved that old beauty,it was like a cadillac next to a hyundai, it taught me respect for my equipment and made me into a real operator. the radio lit my small room enough to read by.
