@Ganapathi6 You can have whatever diet you want but the Orishas are the Orishas and if you have to make sacrifice with an animal, there's no way around it. People who come into this beautiful religion and then try to change it to suit themselves or their lifestyles sooner or later will get hurt. If you have problems with making ebbo with an animal, then I suggest you look elsewhere for enlightenment.

I agree that its a beautiful religion and i dont feel like anything is fitting me. I keep searching and have been searching for years but havent been called to anything as strongly as Lukumi. Do you know of any paths in Lukumi/ Santeria that are vegetarian?

@Ganapathi6 If there is any paths of "Vegetarian" Santeria then it is a fraud. People are entitled to do what they like and I have seen plenty of people come into el Santo and then wanna change it and make it more liberal and what not. These people generally don't last too long or make it very far. Perhaps there's some offshoot of people who claim to be santeros but without making ebbo with an animal. People love to mess with this religion so it wouldn't surprise me. Very unfortunate this is...

@Ganapathi6 - My ayugbona (second godparent) is a vegetarian and she only eats the meat during ceremony - as it is considered to be blessed and have the ashe from the ceremony. But apart from that, she sticks to her meatless diet.

I am very sad that this video is mislabeled. Unfortunately, the owner of the images cannot go back and edit this. it is NOT divination! The reason why I am sad is that many students in many universities who are looking for more details/images will turn this video up and get VERY confused. Please, if you feel called to put these traditions up, make sure you label them properly. I know that I will have a lot of explaining to do tomorrow! Yet, they do not receive criticism like this. Killing rams to appease god and killing chiken to appease the irumole means the same to me.

Hombre, la religión católica para mí no es digna de respeto porque muestran constamente intolerancia. Lo digo en el sentido de que un dios compasivo, altruista y bienintencionado, no necesita de sacrificios tan sanguinarios para verse congraciado.
