I wish it was just a dream. Being in the Army, we do the country's bidding and unfortunately I have friends who have paid the price. I miss them. I wish them being gone was just a dream, but it isn't. They are never coming back to their families and friends. It isn't a dream that hundreds of soldiers die each year. Odds are, you probably know one. All I ask is that you keep them in your prayers and next time you see one, thank them for their brave service to our nation. They deserve it.

I understand that sometimes war is necessary but i fail to see how something that only bring hurt and death can be seen as something good. I would fight in the wars myself to serve and protect my country but i don't think that war is the only way forward. So many lose loved ones to the war and that's not just on our side either, even the 'enemy' has family and friends who love them, that is the one thing i hate, that we forget that. That everyone is someone to somebody.

I actually have a folded flag from my father's death. While he was serving in the navy he had a heart failure. He had to have a heart transplant. He served in the navy overseas and didn't see my mother and brother for three years. He died when I was nine years old. Though he didn't die as a soldier, he was one. God bless him and all the other soldiers who fight for our country!

My fiance is a private in the army, and This is my signature song whenever I go to karaoke. And ever since I met my fiance, this song has meant so much more. He's already been through one deployment and if he ever died overseas, and I never got to say goodbye to him, I don't know what I'd do. So now when I sing this, I really have to hold back tears. I have so much respect for all our nation's soldiers, you sacrifice so much for our freedom. I thank all of you and pray for every one of you.

i break down everytime i hear this song. it really does seem like just a dream that this hurrendous phomenoa actually goes on and shatters families like this. my uncle was in the marines for a number of years and my cousin's husband just left for army training. i pray every day he'll be protected. God answers prayers. may he protect our brave men and women who i wish i could each give a big hug to for everything they do for us. may God bless you a thousand times. <3 :'(

I understand that sometimes war is necessary but i fail to see how something that only bring hurt and death can be seen as something good. I would fight in the wars myself to serve and protect my country but i don't think that war is the only way forward. So many lose loved ones to the war and that's not just on our side either, even the 'enemy' has family and friends who love them, that is the one thing i hate, that we forget that. That everyone is someone to somebody.

I am a Canadian and even I don't like the idea of our troops over there. I have a large American family (my chosen ones) and I feel their anxiety for their own loved ones over there. The first time I seen/heard this track, I broke down. Very moving. The video (which can't be viewed , it's not allowed due to some bogus law since I'm Canadian), is well worth the view. I salute all the men and women who are over there serving both our countries. May GOD himself keep them safe & bring them home!

This song is more fitting than most people realize. My best friend married the love of her life and her childhood sweetheart just before he deployed to Iraq. He was killed over there and this song fits her so well

SO PROUD of my Army Infantryman/Mortarman!!! I'm always thinking of the 3 men we lost this last deployment. A friend's troop just lost 6 in Afghanistan as well. They will NEVER be forgotten.

I actually have a folded flag from my father's death. While he was serving in the navy he had a heart failure. He had to have a heart transplant. He served in the navy overseas and didn't see my mother and brother for three years. He died when I was nine years old. Though he didn't die as a soldier, he was one. God bless him and all the other soldiers who fight for our country!

My mom was in the air force for 5 years met my dad and had me so she got out. Y dad served 21 years and retired in 2006. This video means a lot. Thank u. I dnt think people realize the sacrifices the soldiers make. I'm 14 now and my dad missed two of my bday and two of his anniverseries for him and my mom. Thx again for makeing this!

i am a proud USMC girlfriend. when he told me he joined. he made me sit down and watch his step mom shave his head. as each strained fell to that floor i cried because i knew he would be leaving my side. we decided i will me movin to cali when i graduate so we can see each other more. i love him and miss him. when i hear his voice every night i cry cuz i get worried he will be deployed well he will be getting deployed next june.

The troops out therefoghting right now are just amazing. They would do any thing for us. But what is really horrible is that, on the news you here of people dying from rap, suicide, and drugs. I am a proud female soldier in the United States Army. And all I have to say to you Markunator is that if I die in this war then I die proud that I served. We are protecting something. Our freedom, our county, our people. We are keeping the fight there instead of at home.Would you rather have your hometown in rubble with bodies all around you, or would you rather be able to carry on your everyday life, hug your family and be able to sleep in peace? this is such an amazing song. it sums up in a nutshell why war is wrong. think about all the children who will never know their fathers, the wives who will never see their husbands again, the siblings and friends of all the soldiers who will never come home. war is just such a useless waste of life. but even though i think war is wrong unless we are attacked i thank the soldiers who fight for our country and freedom and pray for them. they can never be honored enough for what they do for us.

My husband is deployed to Afghanistan !! But thank God he will be home soon !! He has lost a few people he knew over there and I know it eats him up inside each day!! It's so sad to think about losing him!! But it is something that I have to be prepared for but I hope I never have to go through!!

thanks for the support, it means alot to all of us. me and the rest of the the military, yeah joining is voluntary but as said deployment ain't i respect my fellow soldiers who go to war, i wish them all the best, and i'll see you all on the other side.
