sick of no one having a replica of the 1972 Holden HQ Monaro that NightRider Stole im going to have to do jeez. oh and people know the black Pursuit Special that max drives is not acually called the interceptor in the movie... just making sure
@stanleyku having grown up in nz i can say the falcon was introduced to aus / nz in 1960 with the xk range then then after losing sales thanks to american handling too soft for aussie condtions they came back with the xp. the era that was the golden era or ford aus was 1969-71 the legendary xw and xy gtho range. the xa 72 on was reponse to the supercar scare the phase 4 gtho falcon was lost to the history books. and the xb / and xc were gt in name only. the big bopper is a falcon retired copcar
I did a bit of research and from what I gathered, the Falcon was only made in Australia from 1972 on up. But I think 1971 was the first year of the "Mad Max" bodystyle. If so, does that mean somewhere there exists an interceptor with left side steering?
@StanleyKu no, wrong. Aussies had Falcons from 60 - 61, Australia still builds Falcons to this day. The XB was late 73 onward (although the XA, quite similar, was from 72 on) None of the XA-XC series were made in the US so no, no left hook versions.
@ikaikaboy88 yes, I suppose you could say that - I have a 73 351 coupe that looks a bit like a Mustang (same thing Mad Max car is based on but stock body - check it out on my channel)- not so much now - they still have hi perf cars like V8s and turbo 6 falcons but utes and 4 doors.
@xbfalcon351coupe nice car gives me that same excitement my 67 gt with the 390 need to get her home as shes off islands for now nice car man what exhaust do you have
@ikaikaboy88 my exhaust's real basic and homemade - Genie 303 stainless mufflers, other than that just a basic 2 1/4 " twin system - maybe I'm biased, but I love how it sounds too !!
sorry about my post a few days ago, it was in the wee hours of the morning and i wrote the wrong thing, i had watched that many videos of amreican cars i had it back to front, but!!! i want to say one thing, why is it the yellow ford is a "big bopper" ? there were 3 "persuits" in mad max the original and one interceptor, max drove one, march hare and big bopper, and the night rider drove the interceptor in the opening chase..... :) not saying any of this in a bad way just curious is all :)
look there all interceptors big bopper yellow interceptor has pursuit on the back and yellow rims max's yellow interceptor has silver rims and interceptor on the back march hare yellow interceptor has yellow rims and interceptor on the back and night rider is driving a 1972 Holden HQ Monaro witch noone seems to think needs a replica of but i'd like too see a replica of
@torinoscj I think you replied to the wrong person, all I said was "very nice", I made no comments about which side the driver sits. I can see how accurate they are.
Dude, are you SERIOUS?The movie and cars were all Australian, hence the right hand drive. You must be a HUGE fan to not notice that. These are as accurate as they come.
68Charger, "all that plastic shit" is the trim that mimics the trim from the movie. it was a 1970s view of what future cars could look like, and if you've seen a stock Falcon XBGT, well, let's say they look better this way.

@JDMulraney Yeh, I agree with you - people have obviously done most of the cars (and Goose's bike) but I've never seen the HQ done as a replica..

tpvalley 3 years ago
Yes, they are legal in the US, as long as you dont flick on the siren.
hankeybillfred 2 years ago
Awesome cars, but you need the correct sirens! You have British ones from what I can hear, yeah? Victorian sirens are somewhat different.
Kajifox 3 years ago 2
When I got my car,the siren head unit and control box were in the boot and supposedly from WA.Bill
torinoscj 3 years ago
Could be WA, yeah! Vic sirens are different again, but hey, at least it's Australian. :D
