  • Why he always uses "fresh" food lol.

  • .......AND thats how u make pressed chef

  • I like the Swedish chef! I´m Swedish myself. So I can tell you that his not speaking real Swedish. But this is probobly how Swedish sounds for English speaking people!! haha! He is saying "Bork bork" when he throws away the big Knife! but what sounds like "Bork" can be the Swedish word "Bort" If I say "Kasta Bort" In Swedish it means "Throw away" in English! :D

  • Bord means a plate in Dutch. My wife and I were in Paris once. We were talking to each other. A man passed us and asked us what language we were talking. I said we were talking Dutch, and that it was a bit like German. No he said, your language sounded more like Swedish. So in daily life I seem to sound like Bork :o)# Which is nice. Lars by the way is a popular name in Holland.

  • Hehe thats kind of funny, In Swedish "Bord" means "Table".

  • So smorgasbord means a table with food. And "dis" is used for a made up table, with food on it.

  • And "bord" is also used for signs, like "verkeersbord"-> "traffic sign" and for a blackboard, which is called "schoolbord". The Dutch word for "table" is "tafel".

  • I think he is saying "bort bort bort". Bort means something like, go away, disappear, so he wants those things to disappear xD

  • actually traffic sign in sweedish is "vägmärke"... and blackboard is "tavle".

  • Tavla*

    I'm Swedish, I know :p

  • also traffic sign is "trafikskylt" :P

  • YouTube? Being educational? Will the wonders never cease!

  • "nork nork nork"? i belive it's "bork bork bork", either way, it's hiliarious

  • Ooh! I want some prassed dook!

  • Heck, whether you're Swedish or not, anyone can enjoy good fun ! You'd have to be pretty stupid to find anty relation to REAL Swedes !

BTW thanks mate (don't know how to say friend in Swedish, sorry !). I always thought he said "moulk moulk moulk", his "mock swedish"for milk !

In fact I remember from my childhood a sketch where it is stated that he speaks "bogus Swedish", treated as a full language !

  • I second chobrocoli. This is just pure fun and he sound kinda swedish. Ha-ha

  • Delicious. And a big QUACK to the duck!

  • did you know that the Swedish chef in the German Muppet Show was actually Danish? He even sang a different song called "smörrebröd"

  • Did you know that the swedish chef in the muppet show isn' really singing in swedish? It's just a mess of random sounds with a few occasional enlgish words in it.

  • bork bork borkbork ;-)

  • its "bort"

    bork is horse.

    bort is away.

  • I don't know where you got the horse from?

  • its what my friend told me when i said bork bork bork lol so idk

  • OK, but "ik".

  • I'll check that out. Thanks for the nice tip.

  • this is some damn funny stuff

  • Holy crap! That was pretty dangerous when he threw that cleaver away =D

  • Bork O_O?

    "Bjoern Borg"

  • Certainly BORK is a swedish word! Don`t you remember Bjoern BORK, the former wimbledon winner?

  • he´s name is Björn borg, not bork

  • This was a JOKE! Do you know what a joke is?

  • trust me if we from sweden made for expample a bartender we called american bartender, and he made random sound. You guys whoulde be pissed to

  • well, I think it's kinda funny and im swedish.

  • I bet they will be. Not me' I'm Dutch. :o)#

  • Oh, the Swedish Chef's cousin? And Bork Ulvaeus, from ABBA!

  • XD omg XD i can't stop laughing!!!!!XD XD

  • No the Swedish chef doesn't use swedish words it is all random and it doesn't sound at all like swedish...

  • Pressed dook(duck)

  • pato a la plancha!! jajajajaja

  • Holy shit this is so fucking funny!!!!!!!!

  • That intro song he does is F-ING HILARIOUS!

  • *quack quack*

    "eh?"

    POW

    "oof!"

    duck flies down

    ROFL!!!

  • Leeks?

  • LMAO

"Yorn desh born, der ritt de gitt der gue, Orn desh, dee born desh, de umn børk! børk! børk!"

  • What does that mean, in English?

  • it's not supposed to mean anything...it's mock Swedish,it's just a bunch of gibberish mixed in with a few random Swedish words to make it sound somewhat like how a real Swedish person would sound like, only not really. It's like faux Italian, it's something of a stereotype on what and how Swedish people talk!

  • True, I have heard that although it's mostly jibberish, the Swedish Chef does occasionally use a Swedish word once in a while. I just thought maybe there were a few more in that sentence.

  • He uses a few English words here and there to cue in the audience. I think the only actual 'Swedish' words he uses are Bork! Bork! Bork! (translated to something like go away) when he tosses the utensils at the beginning.

  • "Bork" is not a Swedish word. The word you are looking for is "bort", wich means "away". But it´s still funny as hell... :P

  • HAHAHAHA bork??? xD xD Thats not a swedish word :)

  • So.... Whats your Piont?

  • Henson got the idea from a "Learn to speak Swedish" tape. He just mixes words. If you listen, most of the time, he just puts an a or something on the end of it. Like "floura the dougha." Frank Oz usually does the hands of the chef, btw.

    Henson is a genius.

  • nothing it´s all just random sounds and mixed up language´s, not swedish att all (trust me i know i AM Swedish)

  • Believe me, normal swedish sounds pretty silly too

  • I believe it does if you're not swedish ^^

  • A mixture of Gibberish and Drunk English.

  • and you got swedish ;D

  • Bork bork bork to that!

  • Comment removed

  • atleast swedish sounds better than danish...norwegian sounds pretty cool though.

    ill give u that norway

    (swede)

  • Bah :P

  • My wife and I were in Paris once. We were talking to each other. A man passed us and asked us what language we were talking. I said we were talking Dutch, and that it was a bit like German.
