Seems like it's kind of cheap to just take a friggin' hang glider(which is made for flying), jack it up on a platform(to give you extra height off the dock launch), and then roll it as fast as possible adding to the glide time. Of course it's going to break records of people who actually built LEGIT models that are artsy and heavy, and usually don't fly at all.

I am one of the builders of this craft and let me clear up a few things.

1. We built everything you see. The rules say you can use leftover parts from anything to build your craft. Nothing you see is pre fabricated.

2. All the teams were scrutinized by Red Bull to make sure they were adhering to the rules.

3. We thought a 25ft real wood banjo was pretty original and the crowd loved it so whats the prob?

We went out to fly not to flop...so dont hate us for our ingenuity.
