OH GOD. Been looking for this song desperately. People kept saying it was 'This is Gallifrey'. *cries* So happy to have found it. It's truly beautiful.
@DoctorWhoLovr No Steven Moffat wrote this particular episode but I agree Russel T Davies was really brilliant at the beginning but started to go downhill at the end of Tennent's reign. But that's just my opinion :) :) Great song right?
@Kerrianne08 Not to sound like a Rose Tyler hater or anything cause I like her a lot compared to other companions, but romantically speaking I don't think that her and the Doctor would not make a good couple. She was always the one admiring and in awe of him, the Doctor was never seen reacting the same. But with Reinette he would admire and loose regular thought if only for just a few moments. He was even willing to have himself trapped in 18th century France just to save her.
As our faces fade from memory, and our souls from life, they look to the stars, to the worlds far beyond. To all the shining stars, they echo through time, our last words, no other word can describe. Beautiful, so beautiful.
I liked Doctor/Rose a lot but think Reinette in one episode showed more love than Rose and the doctor did all this time. To me, Rose just seemed constantly in awe of him and really desparate to be good enough for him, however Reinette didn't need to try to be like him or understand him, somehow, she just trusted him and realised that all the things she had in her life, felt incomplete without the doctor. Also, notice how in that one episode the doctors emotions kept changing more than usual...
@Kerrianne08 I know right! All the diehard fans of Rose/Doctor cry about doomsday yet seem to completely ignore this episode. When you see how quickly the doctor is prepared to dump Rose as soon as he saw Reinette.
And it's nice, for once, to have someone with the same opinion as me. I thought I was the only one thinking this. :)
@theamvgirlx I hate how Doomsday seems to be the one that sticks in everybody's head! In my opinion this episode shows so many different emotions and like you mentioned, you can FEEL the connection between The Doctor and Reinette. You can feel a connection more so with Reinette ast Rose was constantly in awe of The Doctor for me it didn't show a lot of love. A passion to learn about him maybe but not love.
God -_- all the brony comments are annoying, Im a brony and a doctor who fan. But these comments are so annoying, like how they did to a few remixs and vids -_- And I love this song so much ^^
When I listen to this song...I can just see and feel all the memories that have happened while taking the slow path, the sad ones, the happy ones and the special ones you never forget no matter how long ago they were. It's a truly amazing piece.
Doctor Who can excite and scare us... But at his best the Doctor makes us cry and feel a little more human. That is why this was one of my favorite episodes.
@Serenity113 I just watched this episode for the first time, then found this song, and then I read your comment. And I just want to say that, in a world full of loneliness, it's nice to know two people can hear the same thing. Thank you.
This is so beautiful, it really shows the tragedy of French society in the 18th century, the poor with nothing and an upper class hated and despised by all
idk why but every single time i listen to this song it makes me cry idk why it just does.....makes me think about alot of long lost memories and friends :')
This song i so butiful and it makes me cry so much because it makes me fink of all the people that are less fortunet that us and all the poeple who have died and the people who will die. i no it is tragec but that is how my mind works it always looks on the bad side of things so i leave you this message so you to can understand how i am feeling.
To me, this song represents everything that is beautiful in the world, and everything that could be beautiful if we all just slow down once in a while.
Why aint humanity raising instead of fighting eacother, we should descover the universe not go agenst contry and waring.. if every singel person in this world could listen to this song and just think about what we can do together .
When I learnt to play this on the piano, was like "HELL YEAH BI***ES!" Of course, upon returning to live with my mum, I had to face the stark reality that she doesn't own a piano, or a keyboard, and that I'd just wasted three weeks of my life . . .
I cried when I heard this today, it made me think of watching my brother grow up for the past 14 years and that I'll continue watching him grow, taking the slow path together
"Madame de Pompadour, you look younger every day!" HAH! whan you're a french Doctor Who fan, you can't don't be prad to see the history of country in the best serie ever! 8D
@TumasMuscat Yes it does call out to me emotionally, but not to cry (I think I have acrying dosorder or something). I never cry. But this song does make me imagine thinga and it has really inspired me for this story I am writing. I found this sonf just as I was about to quit, and I was inspired when I heard it. It also relaxes me before a soccer game... it gets me in the zone
@xoxMichiruxox It's not that you have a crying disorder, don't worry ... it's just that, having seen the episode, this music reminds me of its poignant conclusion. Maybe I'm a softie for having actually at one point cried at that ...
I can understand the inspirational aspect of this piece too. Interesting use you found there for the football game, maybe I should try it next time!
@TumasMuscat Thanks, your actually the first person who tells me I don't have a crying disorder xD ... the last time I actually remembered crying was in March... because I was so tired, I think I had only slept 3 hours that night. I cry when I'm tired xD
But I also found the end very touching, especially when the Doctor leaves, but she doens't want him to.
my advice is that the BBC steals our money to put on programs that now air not popular concent or opinion but is now a retiringly scared institution who put on mainly rubbish eg parkinson left because of this ,so download this sountrack for free they take more than enough money from us they only need enough to air their (sincearly) good documenterys and the semi impartial news which is alot better than the news making media of new .the dramas is so bad since the last 2 directers took control
Best episode ever!

Such a heart wrenching song, and no words are even needed. Shows how beautifully composed this song truly is.

Also the fact that while he was with Reinette, he seemed to forget Rose on the ship for 5 HOURS. That says a lot.
