Wow.... Causes infections? You guys are idiots and have no idea what you are talking about. ALL contact lenses have dangers to them, the doctor NEVER said that circle lenses cause them. She said that unregulated contacts can be dangerous which is OBVIOUS. Circle lenses are LEGAL in Canada under novelty lenses, so obviously they're not dangerous if they're regulated. All these lenses are are coloured contacts with the design printed to the very edge, they are no bigger than regular contacts.
Furthermore, the reason these girls are getting these infection, abrasions, and eye problems is because they are ordering contacts and putting them in without ever being shown how to do so, or how to care for them properly. They go and wear them for like 16 hrs when they clearly state they can only be worn for 6-8hrs. Girls are putting them in inside out, not cleaning/storing them properly, handling them with unclean hands. U want contacts, go make sure you can handle them first.
Finally, not everyone has the same size/shape of eye. The girls who are damaging their eyes are not going to their optometrists first and getting fitted. So they end up getting lenses that are too steep/flat and it scratches their cornea. Cirlce lenses are the same as any other contact lens, just a little thicker so they last longer and therefore cannot be worn for longer than 8 hours. Why do I know this, because my optometrist said that when I got fitted for my circle lenses. Also, I'm white.

honestly I'm sick of hearing people saying that the trend was started by lady gaga. Circle lenses have been around Asia and Europe before we even knew who lady gaga was. On every single U.S news show I've seen involving circle lenses shes mentioned and they clain that even ulzzangs are copying her. I get that they can be dangerous but it's the same with all contacts. Also, my normal contacts are bigger than my circle lens

Circle lens did not begin with Lady Gaga's Bad Romance video. It was invented WAY before that.
Secondly, circle lens are safe as long as you take care of them well. (wear them 6 hours a day max, wear with clean hands, store well etc)
And Michelle Phan is not just a "youtube makeup guru" she is the spokesmon of Lancome.

Maybe it's a European thing or something, but since when have cosmetic contact lenses been illegal? Oo And I know of people that have purchased those types of contact lenses from Japan without any adverse effects to their health. Maybe they just know where to get them so that the contacts don't start giving them diseases... But to the person that said they were CGI... no dude... there's actual contacts like that.

ummmmm I got some concerns I have been wearing contacts since i was 8 and I am now 20 and the reasons they have listed are the same risks you take when purchasing regular contacts they are only illigal not because of that list but because its not going to make as much money as the other cosmetic contacts so your dr. wont be selling them and just like the contacts your dr sells I dont suggest you wear them 24/7....DUUUUHHH!

These contact lenses are not dangerous actually.
My eye doctor said that cosmetic lenses are fine to wear, just as long if you do it moderately, like not wearing it for almost 10 HOURS STRAIGHT, letting it sit in clean solution for 6 hours and washing your hands... you will be fine..

Wow.... Causes infections? You guys are idiots and have no idea what you are talking about. ALL contact lenses have dangers to them, the doctor NEVER said that circle lenses cause them. She said that unregulated contacts can be dangerous which is OBVIOUS. Circle lenses are LEGAL in Canada under novelty lenses, so obviously they're not dangerous if they're regulated. All these lenses are are coloured contacts with the design printed to the very edge, they are no bigger than regular contacts.

Furthermore, the reason these girls are getting these infection, abrasions, and eye problems is because they are ordering contacts and putting them in without ever being shown how to do so, or how to care for them properly. They go and wear them for like 16 hrs when they clearly state they can only be worn for 6-8hrs. Girls are putting them in inside out, not cleaning/storing them properly, handling them with unclean hands. U want contacts, go make sure you can handle them first.

Finally, not everyone has the same size/shape of eye. The girls who are damaging their eyes are not going to their optometrists first and getting fitted. So they end up getting lenses that are too steep/flat and it scratches their cornea. Cirlce lenses are the same as any other contact lens, just a little thicker so they last longer and therefore cannot be worn for longer than 8 hours. Why do I know this, because my optometrist said that when I got fitted for my circle lenses. Also, I'm white.

Michelle Phan wasn't wearing those lenses, she used an effect to make her eyes bigger, that's why she had dots on her face and she used white eyeliner to make the white of her eyes look bigger. Do your research and get your facts right.

Um...A: calm down, B: Green eyes in Asians is genetically impossible unless there are white ancestors in her line. Green eyes are the rarest eye colour and the genes for them are mostly isolated in Scotland and Ireland. Green eyes aren't like blue eyes where there can be rare cases of them popping up in other ethnicities because of genes being damaged during development, or straight up albinism. To have green eyes you have to have the genes for green eyes. (Science major, 3rd year.)

These lenses are not fitted for the individual patient, which is well known to cause scratches, abrasions, bacterial infections, and in some instances, blindness. This information is backed up by credible doctors time after time. If you look it up, you'll find many many doctors who say the exact same thing. I do believe those people are more credible than you. You don't know better than the medical community.
