You guys are leaving out the prospect that those riffs may be parts of one song. The band did state that the new stuff would be lengthy and dynamic. I may be mistaken but think about ONE, had you never heard it would you believe the intro, chorus, and solo section were the same tune?

Ive always thought St Anger's raw,abrasive production is what held it back from being the potential very good album it could be.

Live,those tracks sounded better,and there's good songs there,like "Sweet Amber".

If that album had a production akin to that of say,Machine Heads "Burn my Eyes",some editing on the songs here+there,and some well crafted solos,I think it would have been much better received.

Once the new ones out and digested a few times,thats when to judge it-but so far,so good!

fark, they are some pretty dam impressive stats! don't really hear them much on the radio in aus tho, & if they are played it's only ever sandman or nothing else matters.

totally agree, got some serious goosebumps hearing that tiny bit of new stuff at the end! sooooo can't wait for the new album to come out! then gonna buy the guitar tab book & learn it from start to finish. they better come back to aus soon! 6 years is way too long between visits

Just like I expected from this new album, lots of groove feeling, coming from their new blood member Trujillo :), lets just wait and see if the album has more thrash feeling into it, but probably is gonna be a more heavy metal groove thing.

To me the final 30 seconds consist of three separate riffs edited into one... (obviously). I really dig the first and final one (the one with James singing!) His voice sounds just like it did 10 years ago... awesome!

I have been very calm about the propects of the new album... but now I cannot fucking wait to hear more!
