i went to new york shelter to adopt a maltese 6 weeks old and they want to charge 900 dollars ..it's not good cause tthe dog have now 4 months and still in the shelter..and i still looking..
They really should lower the prices of owning pets... Even slightly. Like taxes, prices of operations etc. My friend just got a lowered price on an operation for his cat because he's unemployed, I think that is just awesome! Someone anonymous had called animal protection to come and help him out, take him to the vet & pay a portion of the expenses etc. It made me so happy because he was struggling to get money for it :) We still don't know who called the animal protection, but it was so nice.

and then you have a dog that gets so sick from malnutrition, that you have to pay huge vet bills. so it's actually better to give it up while it's still healthy so someone who can afford it can take it in. I'm not trying to make you mad, but try to look at the big picture. The pet is better off healthwise- it will most likely find another loving home and owner.
@mynamzalexandra do you know who are big assholes there at the duey animal shelter we were gona give my dog away but we wanted him back the sayed hes not ours any more there basically stealing him because we have to sign him over and we didnt we signed forms on how he acts and also they like tryed to kick us out called the police and almost banned us thumbs up if there jerks and we should get our dog baxk thats redicoulous they kicked out a crying family thumbs up there jerks
So sad to learn that people can't take care of their pets and have to give them up for adoption. I had a cat that passed away recently five months ago. While we no longer have to pay for food and care, it doesn't make me feel better. My mother never wanted the cat because of the hair problem. I could care less. I loved the cat. It was my sister who brought it in. I'm glad she did, in spite of the wound in my heart.
State animal welfare departments are enacting intrusive and strict petcare rules, with huge fines, and no legal way to defend yourself as owners. Breeders are going out of business because they don't have/can't afford to build commercial buildings for their pet raising. What is rightfully an inhome labor of love is being made a costly corporate venture by anal state employees who seek to protect their state jobs by making work and looking busy, while they drive hobbists out of business.
Will people adopt a dog or cat just because they're free? I mean, it's a good idea, but many people don't understand that owning a pet is a very long commitment. Hopefully, the animals will not end up family-less like they originally were.
"Sparky here doesn't know that...." --> what a stupid, stupid sentence...

Cook them and eat them.
Problem solved.

I'm sure nobody would do that... Michael Vick?

It's a modest proposal, is all.

Oh that breaks my heart. If people would just spend $75 on spay and nutering, then these animals would not have to go through this trajedy.
ANGELBLU2042 3 years ago
its even cheaper at spay and neuter clinics!
