I don't know if people realize that James doesn't control his tone switches? All of his pedals are offstage and controlled by his guitar tech. He does that because it prevents unnecessary damage to the pedals. His tech didn't read the set list properly.

@JustWannaLoadMyVideo no, if you notice he switch the toggle switch to the other position then back again, likely that he had a wiring problem or some other thing broken or loosely connected in the guitar. this causes the guitar to send a weak signal, and can make the tone almost clean.
