Gahh I want one so much! I'd prefer to raise it myself from a baby, but I guess I could take a re-homed one if the local rescue place ever gets one... and hopefully it won't be too screwed up by some idiot who didn't know how to care for it. I love birds, have had many, and hate to see people treat them as if they're just some dumb creature to be locked in a cage all day and night. They are intelligent, and very emotional creatures, and examples like Alex the grey show their true potential.

@rangerfan105 You can also re home one. That's how Corkey ended up with me. He was 9yo and needed a new home. He has been with me for years now. Another option is to get one from a rescue. I have one here that came from a rescue.

@tstuetzel All of my birds except two (so like 8) were rescue birds. I think it's really cute to get an animal from a baby and to raise them as your own, but so many animals also need to be in better homes/rescued from shelters/etc. Its sad how many people get birds (or any animal) and then just get bored of them or cant take care of them anymore :/
