@TheLouisvilleLip totally agree, no raise pre makes it tough to put him on the A. A random king will slow it down hoping to have sucked out and certainly neither would shove the river. Couldve been betting the flush but again, prob wouldve value bet and not snap shoved
Tran's mistake was moving all in and he should have value bet the river representing the flush. Mu Mal. Hope everyone checks out my Channel and enjoys their Evening!
yeah youtubers, if you think this call is not special then i suggest you find 100k and plag against hellmuth and tony g. i would love to see you even half pwn their souls, which tbh aint happening cos ur fucking hypocrites. just stop fucking complaining and accept that this call is sick simple as that. you can see the hands, hellmuth cant. tran played fine aswell, he had to be aggressive on that board. its ace and king ffs, its a must bet the all in didnt quite price hellmuth out but sick call.
@weatherallc05 Dude, just calm down. Why write a paragraph for people? If you liked the video, just smile at stupid comments knowing that you know better, no need to give them so much attention and make them think they got to you.
Omfg!!! How could someone say that it was an easy call? Its not that Hellmuth called a small bet or something, he called a freakin all-in after Tran was showing agression on that board.
Not that difficult a call. It was easy to see he did not a pair of kings or a pair of aces. He might have had a pair of 8s and a better kicker, so it was a risk, but it was easy to see Tran did not have anything special. Good call anyway though.
i have to agree. the CW is that hellmuth was good against the old style mostly uneducated amateurs, etc. and can no longer compete, that he only won back when the WSOP had a couple of hundred players, etc. well, this year he PROVED them wrong. THREE SECOND PLACES in 2011 in WSOP. sorry, but the CW is wrong. he is still one of the greatest poker players (and note they weren't all in no limit, like his bracelets are). people love to hate him, and that's fine, but you cannot deny his talent
I dont think it was a particularly hard call. So he represents 2 pair/ flush draw on the flop. K comes on the turn and Tran bets big. At this point he probably doesn't have a flush draw since he could be easily chek raised all in. Then the river comes out a club. Correct me if im wrong but i think Tran was going to move all in with any river card
as antonius said "how can you make that call??" yeahhh how could you make that bet as doyle said back. phil hellmuth is a fucking box, just pure standard hellmuth call
wow good call.....only thing thst made sense tho was the flush i think....but even then the all in doesnt make sense as a value bet if he actually hit the flush!
not really a tough call, its a good call, remember these poker pros are called pros because their millionaires, loosing half a million or 100g aint shit to them so, i mean if i only have 50k on my bank, there is no way ill make that call even if i had AA.
@datu0108 This wasn't cash, it's a tournament with more on the line that just money, esp for Hellmuth who cares about titles more than anything, and it was absolutely a tough call, I would say near impossible. If you think otherwise you're just being a "youtube pro" ignoramus.
i dont like hellmuth much but still this is best call ever. hes angry but i dont think its the reason why he called. maybe what gave the bluff away wast the way tran didnt react to phill's first instacall like a person vith a hand.
lol if this was in isolation you might be persuaded to think Phil is really good but if you seen many of his other calls and plays you realise this isn't impressive at all. Phil just big fish idiot that cant fold.
The quick allin was a mistake, everything got there Hellmuth should be afraid of with that river, Without the instaallin it would be pretty much an impossible call.
@curuzu 11 bracelets - all luck. Right? Not. I think it is the other way around. We all love to see Phil blow up and make mistakes, so Youtube is stuffed with vids of that. But his winnings indicate that THOSE are the exceptions. Number of vids cannot beat hard cash and bracelets.
@qqleq2 Phil is a legend and an amazing player. I'm not trying to say that I know better than he does. But are you saying that if that 2 was a 3 he wouldn't have made the exact same call? There is more luck in poker than we want to believe. In this hand he got lucky by not getting unlucky. Part of the game.
@toe2toe Spot on. The skill is reading and then calculating the odds. the read was good, the odds were good, and then you can always have bad luck on the river, but that doesn't make it bad play. It would have made him blow up, though,
@qqleq2 he was good at one point in time compared to the competition out. Now he is washed up idiot. Either the standard got better or Phil lost his edge personally i think its a combination of both. But his time has passed now he is nothing but a fish.
@daveforfun22 So beat him. this "fish" that won over $13.000.000 in 2011 alone in tournaments. Beat this man, that was second in three 2011 WSOP events, so close to his twelfth, thirteenth and fourteenth bracelet. Beat the man that all pros like to mock because of his personality, bit none because of his qualities. Beat the "fish". Oh wait, you are a YouTube-commentor. Sorry, I forgot. That is the place where everybody knows the truth. Winnings don't count. YouTube commentors do.
@qqleq2 LOL I just copied that typo from Wikipedia. $13M is of course wrong. Truth is: HE MADE MORE MONEY THIS YEAR THAN IN ANY YEAR BEFORE, $1.6m in tournaments (same as Phil Ivey, more than Daniel Negreanu) and still going terribly strong. Calling him a fish is like calling oxygen unimportant. The man is an universally acclaimed genius, ESPECIALLY this year. But please, please do only see his blow-ups and goofs. Ignore the info that really matters. It causes such amusing reactions.
@leeroyjetsonsbitch Yeah I know, I corrected that immediately on the comments page. I got that number from Wikipedia but that number just had a typo there (zero too many, probably ;) ). Now I see that too many people liked my comment so that it came out on top but of course without my correction, that is somewhere to be found below on page 53729! ;) So everybody: unlike my comment above! ;)
@qqleq2 He made it heads up 3 times and couldn't win 1? wow.. I have a better record than that in the tourneys I play. And Hellmuth is a fish, fuck all his winnings, he plays the most WSOP events out of EVERYBODY, he's bound to win lots. He really does suck so bad. Look up some fun moments of him vs Tony G, pure comedy. And Tony G isn't even all that good.
@TheKScott89 So beat those fishes, Tony and Phil, if they are so bad. Put a $100k in if you're so sure they are so bad. Not? Big mouth, small balls. Like all the YouTube "pros".
@TheKScott89 So beat those fishes, Tony and Phil, if they are so bad. Put a $100k in if you're so sure they are so bad. Not? Big mouth, small balls. Like all the YouTube "pros". @aur3ll4 those were headsup coinflip sngos lol. I have terrible luck.
