I got one of these today in the same color scheme, although i got the newer version of this system which is 3.0. The only differences i see between yours and mine are the box designs, and my power adapter is smaller and plugs in sideways to make more room.

I dunno if anyone has told you, but to answer your question at the beginning of the video about why Nintendo hasn't sued any of these knockoff brands is because the patent on the SNES, NES, and Genesis have run out, so it's free game. That's what I've read everywhere at least.

@AZAMENAZA the sound is a little bit off is because when you use a lcd hd flatscreen tv its not the same kind of tv that they had back then because it wasnt hd and it isnt a lcd its not like the wii where its hd these are the real games so the sound will be a little bit off.

My RetroDuo plays fine on both types of TVs I have. The sound issues occur with the same games (like Blades Of Steel) on both TVs, too.

I can't play my PAL games on the retro-duo :( buhu, need to mod a 50/60hz switch on it to work.

You CAN play Super Mario RPG on the retro-duo, but you have to modify the gamecart (Removing pin number 127 on the SA-1 chip, it's so tiiiiiiny :S )

I Modded one of the cheap remotes that it comes w/ and soldered an NES remote to it, so that I can play the NES games with the legit remote. Plus with my NES game Genie, I was pissed off because the code flashed through the screen about 100Xfaster than yours showed, but I noticed if I slowly pulled the game out of the gamegenie while pressing reset, I got it to work perfectly and centred in the screen. Just don't use that method with NES games that have batteries in them,I lost LOZ2 savefiles:(

I got a Japanese famicom clone in Japan a few years ago, it's called Supernicofami and it's white and black. Also came with two controllers. It can play Japanese famicom and super famicom games but I don't think it can play EU or US games cause I tried EU donkey kong country and it warned me about other language systems and that I should stop playing...actually the donkey kong was borrowed from my friend AGES ago so just wanted to try it out, I'm fine with just the Japanese games anyway,

I have the same Chinchan cartridge and it works fine in Retro Duo. Your cartridge probrably needs a through clean on the contact.

I can't believe RetroBit still hasn't fixed the audio problems on the RetroDuo. The audio problems you've experienced on the NES aren't just an isolated case; EVERY RetroDuo ever produced sounds this bad, and even after mods are available to fix the distorted audio, RetroBit STILL hasn't gotten their act together and added missing components to the NES side. That's really lame.

You should check out the Retron 3. It seems to play just about anything without any problems. It also uses orginal controllers for all three systems (Genesis, SNES, & NES).

the only question i have is why doesn't duck hunt work is it bc there is no compatible controller made for the duo to use for the game yet? see i'm looking for a system i can play both snes and nes games eventhough i'm more of a snes player i started my video gaming on the nes with titles such as tmnt1 super mario bros 1+2 and once the gameboy color came out i started playing it and just took me back to my nes games bc a lot of the nes games got ported to the gameboy and gbc like double dragon2.

I use my retro duo solely for snes and super famicom games & it works great. No picture or sound issues that I've noticed. It wouldn't play my copy of super mario rpg though. So I must have one of the later versions. I like that the retro duo will let you use the original snes controllers. A nice bonus :)

BSNES. It's the only way to play SNES if you don't have a SNES. No sound problems and 99.9% accurate. For those who don't know what BSNES is, it is the best emulator for your PC. It's free and you can play games that are impossible to get a hold of whether it be because of high cost or different region. Don't waste your money on wannabe hardware.

@MrPopsicle43 No. 1 reason emulation on BSNES is too slow: Incorrect settings. No.2: Incapable hardware. If it is No. 2 you must have a fossil for a computer. I am running BSNES on a single core AMD64 Athlon with an integrated graphics card. If you're running a single core Pentuim 4, you should choose "Compatability" mode. BSNES runs games so perfectly you would not be able to tell the difference between BSNES and an actual SNES even in compatibility mode.

Every time I go to the used game shop near my house I see all the NES cartridges sitting there and thing to myself "Man, it would be a trip to play NES games again, its been so long since I've held an actual NES controller..."

Then I remember that I have like a bajillion roms at home on my computer and all the emulators work with my Xbox 360 controller.

Although I will admit getting N64 games on the Wii is a lot easier than emulating them, N64 emulation is kinda buggy and odd a lot of the time. NES/SNES/Turbografx and all that are a piece of cake.

Funny you should do this now. Our SNES, that my sister has, is slowly dying on her. I haven't used my Retro Duo much, but I was looking at prices so she could pick one up, and stock looked pretty low on most online retailers.

Maybe I'll see if we can trade or if I can get our original SNES back to fix ...

You mentioned the buttons being "sticky", and I've had the same problem with 2 other Nintendo rip offs. One was a NES handheld that really just made the system unplayable, and the other a regular NES remake which again just didn't feel right. I might try buying this one since you can use the orginal Super NES controlers...I still have a few I think.
