@Welfenkas Ich hätte lieber meinen Urgroßvater erlebt als Photos vom Mond, SmartPhones und Flugreisen. Abgesehen davon wären diese Entwicklungen so oder so passiert, weniger schnell vielleicht aber es wäre nicht zu verhindern. I enjoy studying about the Nazis. I see them to be the darker side of human nature that we all battle daily. Except their darker nature was embedded within the government. While they did terrible things, it makes them no less fellow humans. America herself isn't too far from becoming a Nazi regime, we've killed over 40,000,000 of our own citizens since the early 70's. Yes, you are right, The backbone of the German was broken in Russia and not in the West. I meant only that the western part of Europe was liberated by the US army. The German army was essentially defeated in Russia and not in France or Italy.

Soviet forces destroyed 85% of nazi army. British Army destroyed 5% and US forces 4 %. The rest destroyed the others. US Army won in western Europe only, because nazi forces was took from west to the defence of Berlin.

The problem is that the German soldier of the Wehrmacht was not "another normal soldier." They were part of a criminal war against other European nations. Especially in the East in the war against Russia the German army was part of a war of annihilation against the Russian people ('Vernichtungskrieg").
