The Japanese and UK versions are essentially the same one. I believe most of Asia gets the Jap/Euro version.

I am so happy we got the Japanese [pictured above] version here in Australia. I have seen the US version [thumbs down] and the UK one and we def' lucked out.

I keep my fingers cross they are going to do the same thing as they did with the old 6. They introduced it in sedan and after the hatchback and the wagon.

im pissed that this version of the mazda 6 isn't coming to the US. however the new mazda 6 in the US is pretty sweet itself. (not as sweet as this car though.)

I write to Mazda Canada and they didn't give me a satisfactory answer on IF OR NOT this car is comming soon in north america...

No sport 6 push me to go for the 2010 CX-7,but cant stand that FUGLY new front end. That the price to pay for a i2.5 manual 6 speed?!?

That's somewhat correct; a new model should be introduced around that time. But I'm sorry to say that you're ill-informed on this one...it's already been confirmed that this model will NOT make it to North America.

Mazda is in business to make money, not keep a small group of people happy. If the 1st gen Mazda6 was passed over by folk with families because it was too small, they'd be stupid to NOT make the US version larger. Nissan decided to make the altima go toe-to-toe with the cam-cord, without being too boring, and sales more than doubled. Sounds like Mazda wants to do the same, and who could blame them.

The above model is slightly larger than the previous iteration. I'm not sure where your general consensus of "too small" has come from. It should depend on marketing and slice of the pie/specialization within the market place. In the case of the above, slightly smaller (than competitors) and sporter = less competition with overlap within the market. Plus the above design is soo much better than the others.

The Zoom Zoom strategy has really worked for Mazda. In 2003 i couldnt see any other competitor for the 6. I bought one then. Was new then...so i was unique in front of ma friends. and then again in 2007 we got another 6, this time the top of the range with sports package. Couldnt find anythin better!! even now!

:( Mazda6 Speed 2008! who didn't drive Mazda don't know how much fun is driving a Zoom-Zoom car.. the 2006-2007 Mazdaspeed6 was available only waith a manual gearbox.. now this model have a auto flappy paddle gearbox which will make the drive thrill even more amazing! with a new engine! and a car with a more aerodynamic design! i will wait tell 2010 model and hopefuly I will be able to afford it :D

juidas, ur right. Those who criticized Mazda have never driven nor owned a Mazda b4. D only thing they know is to listen to crowds with no knowledge on Mazda n look at resale value. Mazda had bad reputation once b4 the 80's n they just assumed that it's still bad. Mazda has the best handling, safety (even without airbags) n reliability ever compared to other cars.

a lot of consumers just buy the name, Honda & Toyota are good companies.. I owned Honda accord.. OH MY GOD it's a bad car poor fuel economy and above of all no passion in design and it's so boring.. Toyta quality is too bad also lately.. I own Mazda6 2006 2.0LR and I feel unique when I drive it around it's the best looking comparing with it's rivals more fun to drive.. simply a Better car.. mazda done a good Job.. I wish they keep up the good work and do not go backwards like Toyota or Honda.

hi juidas, I've driven both Honda Accord 2.0 '96 & Toyota Camry 2.2 '96 & compared with Mazda 626 '93. Mazda has good handling & performance but a little thirsty cause it's V6. Toyota only has reliable ez fix engine with good fuel economy but poor ride & body quality. Honda has best economy & performance is ok but plenty of electronics prob when get old. Which year model is ur Accord? Did u buy it new or used?

The Accord I owned is the 04 model and I bought it used from a friend of mine cause I think Honda is the best Japanese car arround.. and I never thought I will like Mazda! but once I rented one 2005 MAzda6 Silver and I liked it so much have the practicality of the Accord but not the same performance consider the accord is 2.4 Engine.. but overall handling FUN to drive Design the Mazda Easily wins and I test drive the 2.3 Mazda6 it's amazing and have more power than the 2.4 Accord

Hold your horses...this is the second generation Atenza. The idiots at Mazda think the U.S. needs a bigger, and no doubt ugly model. Essentially, we will not be getting this model in the U.S., which is a shame because this car is awesome.
