Where did this song chart on the US Billboard? Not that it matters but I remember hearing on rock stations a lot back in the late 70's and 80's.

CKOC 1150 from Hamilton, Ontario plays all these great hits, I listen to them online. There are quite a few tunes that I listen to on You Tube thanks to mojofilter02... I never tire of listening to the classics. Just wish there was a way to get them all on a CD to play while I'm driving! Don't know much about downloading or MP3 players, my kids laugh at me for being computer illiterate!

This was Doucette's 2nd single, We charted it at #3 during the summer of 77 at CHER. His first was DOWN THE ROAD which was playlisted in February 1978 and reached #71 on RPM.Jerry followed this Canadian classic with ALL I WANNA DO which also went Top 10 in October 1978. A year later another hit with NOBODY and another Top 40 song RUN BUDDY RUN. In 1981 he released 2 singles,IT ONLY HURTS THE FIRST TIME & IT DOESN'T MATTER on the RIO label but no chart action.One of Canada's best gems of alltime

CHER-950 AM was In Sydney,Nova Scotia And I was the all-night jock from 77 to 84 as well as music director from 77-80. CHER is now on

the FM band at 98.3 and is krown as MAX FM playing a classic pop-rock format from 60's to the 90's. Mama Let him Play is played under

the Canadian Gold rotation. I still work for the station but as a programer/operator as well on her sister stations, CJCB (Country) AM 1270 & THE CAPE, 94.9 FM playing current

Top 40/Hot AC.

There was a distinctive guitar sound around this time with CanRock. You heard it with many songs by Trooper and Prism, BTO's Freeways album, Domenic Troiano's "We All Need Love" and this song by Doucette. A denser production maybe.

Another Jerry Doucette song I've heard on the radio beisdes this was called "All I Wanna Do (to Be by Your Side, Girl)", but that was many years ago.  MojoFilter02, do you have that?

Thank you for posting this. I loved the way you put this together in such a captivating way with your impressive liner notes. Funny I just noticed that I have a very playable copy of The Dooce is on the Loose the other day and was thinking of how much I used to like Jerry Doucette.
