i am loving the heck outta my 09 kxf 450! it has so much power, and im a smaller rider so the 6mm narrower frame is perfect for me!

@axeu350 if you need this much of kicks to restart when you preheat your engine so bad that you are this much tired of running it that can mean 3 thing : 1 : you exhauste your self very very quickly, 2 : you fall asleep like 4hour when you 'watch the view' and didn realise it, or 3 : your sparkplug its unplunged.. tchek it

What year is your 450? if your riding the Fi 450 i cant beleive you would need a bigger bike, but if you are take it in to your Kawi dealer and have them reprogram the CDI, the stock set up is producing 10% less then what its capable of doing.

mate i agree with the other replys. Your clutch is probably slipping. My 08 KLX 450 had a slipping clutch and I didn't really notice it until I gave it a squirt on some bitument. Then I showed the dealer. They removed a shim from the clucth whcih they said was to prevent them from blowing up as previous model were doing.

She's all good now though! Have your steed looked at, probably a bad case of foot and mouth, ha, ha!

@TheDirtbiker712 Ya i with iancpsc24, there is no way in hell you can "outgrow" a 450. you can always be faster and judging by your comment you just rely on the bike to be fast. My advice is you stop saying your bike isn't fast enough and start riding faster. Sounds like you don't do anything but ride in a straight line.

Im happy with my 4strock : just tchek the oil and make sure she have enough gaz and tape it on the floor no worry

@Ocron93 2 stroke piston = $150 4 stroker= $500+install. 4 stroke = oil change every 2-3 times I ride + oil filter. 2 strokes only need transmission oil changed like every 5 hours. 2 strokes can be fully maintened and repaired by the average person in there garage. 4 stroke needs oil changes all the time. 4 strokes unless stock need to run higher octane wich cost alot more. if your talking about pr ama then yah 4 strokes and 2 stroke motors get replaced every race.

I would go through 3 pistons a year on my 250. now adays I know kids who race new 4 strokes and they go through 2 pistons a year. do the math and don't argue. learn your facts. you don't even own a dirt bike. 2 strokes are by far superior there is nothing 4 stroke does better than the 2 stroke except the 4 stroke cost the owner more money

@TheDirtbiker712 Lets get it straight, I DON'T think you need more bike than you have... BUT, iancpsc24 is wrong when it comes to you being faster than the pros, the pros ride factory bikes that have ALL aftermarket parks.. cam, carb kits, suspension, tires, etc. If you want more speed.. Look up aftermarket cams and carb kits.. they make the most difference. But if you want to be a real man.. get a 250 2 stroke or 500 2 stroke.
