That's actually a good question. It's sort of like the article "the" in that respect. Sometimes in a song or even a sentence it's more appropriate to say "thee" rather than "thuh."

Same thing for "dee" and "duh."

Hayley Westernra should have just soloed this performance. Her vocal talents way over powered whoever the guy was; he was over-matched and didn't really need to be there. Very few singers could have matched Teresa Teng's original classic, but I though Hayley did a excellent job.
