I agree with just about everyone's comments about this album. Remember folks, George Benson not only won the Grammy for best album of the year, but also for best record of the year, for "This Masquerade." Benson thus achieved a first for any jazz album, winning best album and best record. Don't hold me to this comment, but I think Benson is the only jazz artist to ever attain this achievement. Bottom line, you can make the argument that "Breezin" is the greatest jazz album ever recorded.
Remember when I first bought this album. The only song I heard previously was "This Masquerade" on the radio. The album photo cover of Benson leapt from the bin to grab me. It said "buy me and you'll never regret it". I paid the $3.99, took the album to my Air Force base barracks, and played it loud throughout the dayroom. No one complained or asked to turn down the sound. That photo cover was right. I never regretted it.
THIS IS ONE OF THE GREATEST JAZZ CUTS EVER! A VERY BEAUTIFUL MELODY! 'LADY' IS THE NAME OF THIS TUNE OFF HIS CLASSIC 'BREEZIN' LP1976. THANK YOU GEORGE FOR SUCH A SOOTHING SONG.
Showing some love from Brisbane, Australia. You are by far the greatest guitarist I've heard. My parents went to all his concerts at Old Festival Hall in town. Much love
The guy is timeless....he plays on disco and funk and it may as well have been recorded yesterday.....he blows us all away. What other artist holds up like that over every decade?
Man please stop it.... wow....this is a bad jam... U one of kind Mr. Benson.... man this is a great song to end a great album with...Top Ten albums of all time...easy..
