  • The belt buckle Wayne has on is one of a set that Howard Hawks made at the time Red River was fimed. Each one had the the Red River D brand on it in gold inlay and the intials of the recipient. Wayne and Hawks exchanged theirs in a freindship ceremony so the one Wayne has on is actually Hawks. Which was then stolen from a silversmiths shop when the Wayne's wanted to have reproductions made. Wayne's that Hawks had has also gone missing. Hawks did the same for Rio Bravo too.

  • @kseadam8907 Yep, it's in Old Tucson Studios in Arizona! I've been there, it looks exactly the same now! So many westerns have been shot there, both old and new!

    Love how those two characters interact. Only part of what makes this one of my favorite John Wayne movies.

  • Classic gunfight and ultimately a classic movie. Definitely one of my top ten favorite westerns.
