CFL are excellent for veg, cloning etc, but if you would have used 150to hps (or two) they give off very little heat and you have space you would have yielded several ounces. 2 150more hps is 32,000 lumens. works amazing on 1 or two girls. you even spent more on electric than you would have with a 150 hps.

Your tops look like popcorn compared to the ones i had with a 400wHPS. The 400w puts out some heat so dont burn your plants or roast in your room. Selling for a 250HPS w/cool tube.

hey man great job on the first time. you might wanna look into rollitup.org for a scrog tutorial. they have some great DIY stuff on there. scrogging helps get even light to the whole plant so all your colas are the main cola size. good job though.

I do grow some veggies now lol, but try a 150 watt hps or a bunch of smaller bulbs around the plant. in your case ya shoulda got rid of all the bottom branchs and just left the mail colas. But hey ya got a few free joints. enjoy. 150 sun system puts out 16,000 lumens. cheaper and better penitration with not much heat

@williepie I think I got a little off topic, I guess your right regardless of the particular smell, if growing it is a concern that it will probably have a strong weed smell. So maybe carbon filters or at least some kind of cover up smell would help.... peace
HPS is best, but CFL is good too, HPS cost less than CFL so wtf? u will get 400-600W HPS 40-60euros. but i use CFL 400W cuz less HEAT, but if u have money for AIR supplies then i recomment u to buy HPS. sry for my bad english lol. keep growing!!
Very nice my friend. I remember those days of excitement when learning and enjoying the process of flowering regardless of size. It is an accomplishment. And only those who have truly attempted the process understand and respect the enormous amount of knowledge it takes to truly grow marijuana "well" indoors.

To all of those who think HPS is too expensive, or too far out of your reach, think again.. Take my advice look up a 150 watt Sun System.. the best bang for your buck.. trust me.. 16,000 lumens Plug and play technology straight out of the box.. Happy growing...

I also prefer fluorescent grows but you can easily increase yields from a CFL grow with induction fluorescent The problem with the CFL lamp you're using is that the lamps arranged closest to the reflector get hotter then the lamps nearer to the plant & light produced from the rear lamps actually is blocked by the lamps in front of them.
In terms of lumen per watt efficiency the best CFL ever get is about 75 L/W compared to 166 vL/W induction grow lamps & they don't run hot. cheers

you should try doing low stress training next time, that plant has alot of tall branches, looks like it would work really nicely tying it down to make a flat even canopy for all those popcorn buds in the middle
@jeeaaman also my guess for why those leaves are all yellow like that is the dude looking after your shit probably used too much fertilizer as well. the hairs on the plant look shriveled up in some places, i remember that happening to one of my plants the first time i tried using miracle gro
has anybody tried using coir for handwatering? i found it doesnt absorb alot of moisture on its own and when you water it the water just drains straight through it. It would be great for hydro system drippers but for nad watering i find it doesnt absorb as much as soil. I guess for hand watering you should stick to soil. MOst organic nutrients will clog pumps on hydro dripper systems even with airstone anyway.

nice grow but one thing you see right away is how the light does not penetrate down the plant & the leaves are much smaller on down. induction grow lights are amped up florescent lamps that penetrate over 30" for much better bottom growth & they run @ 1/2 the watts of the HID lights I was using. OK, simple question.......we want to grow 4-6 indoor plants. Dont want to over do it, or go nuts. Can someone please tell me what type of light we want for feminized seeds. With that much money I would get 2 types of lamps. You need two different light spectrums for growing and flowering. Buy 1 4 ft 250 w CFL with T5 lamps, found at your local grow store. Buy one 400 watt HPS for flowering. Growing is 18-20 hours of light a day, flowering is 12 hours of light a day. You need proper ventilation for the HPS cause it gets very very hot and can burn down your house. If you buy just the lamps, it will stay around 300, but you need much more.
The fan leafs are the sugar factories that ignite the spark of magnesium into photosynthesis. If you clip a fan leaf off but leave the corresponding branch on the plant then the growth and yield becomes affected. An alternate option to prune your plants it just to top the plant and cultivate four or six main branches leaving a fan leaf on the plant for every branch. Hope this advice helps. @maslabud no need for ballast...but you need a mogul socket same as regular but hole is a bit bigger..and plugs right straight to the wall.....bulb usually go for about 40 to 45 bucks and the mogul socket with cord about 20 bucks or the reflector hood for about 35 to 45 bucks ...i have 2 of them

Very nice my friend. I remember those days of excitement when learning and enjoying the process of flowering regardless of size. It is an accomplishment. And only those who have truly attempted the process understand and respect the enormous amount of knowledge it takes to truly grow marijuana "well" indoors.
It is not for the faint of heart or for those who are prone to giving up easily. A simple houseplant this is NOT. Good job! and keep learning. This is a true blue and legitimate science.

@RetardedBotanist Hi :) wikipedia Compact_fluorescent_lamp and scroll down to health issues. I don't no much about growing plants but It looks like the leaves at the bottom look healthier then the top which could mean its the light that's the problem.

To all of those who think HPS is too expensive, or too far out of your reach, think again.. Take my advice look up a 150 watt Sun System.. the best bang for your buck.. trust me.. 16,000 lumens Plug and play technology straight out of the box.. Happy growing...

i hate it when people rip on small growers and tell em to get better lights like hps and hid and shit. obviously they are better but they are costly. cfls give me sweet bud and i love em . keep growing dude and the number one rule of growing is.... do it yourself. other people wont love them like you could. and topping is a good idea too . happy smoking =)

Pisses me off too, there are different situations eg. some people growing in a (modified) dresser, or box probably don't want to risk burning down their home with a 400W HPS in a wooden box, CFLs arent very expensive either, not sure why ppl have to be so elitest

I also prefer fluorescent grows but you can easily increase yields from a CFL grow with induction fluorescent The problem with the CFL lamp you're using is that the lamps arranged closest to the reflector get hotter then the lamps nearer to the plant & light produced from the rear lamps actually is blocked by the lamps in front of them.
In terms of lumen per watt efficiency the best CFL ever get is about 75 L/W compared to 166 vL/W induction grow lamps & they don't run hot. cheers

you should try doing low stress training next time, that plant has alot of tall branches, looks like it would work really nicely tying it down to make a flat even canopy for all those popcorn buds in the middle

@jeeaaman also my guess for why those leaves are all yellow like that is the dude looking after your shit probably used too much fertilizer as well. the hairs on the plant look shriveled up in some places, i remember that happening to one of my plants the first time i tried using miracle gro

has anybody tried using coir for handwatering? i found it doesnt absorb alot of moisture on its own and when you water it the water just drains straight through it. It would be great for hydro system drippers but for nad watering i find it doesnt absorb as much as soil. I guess for hand watering you should stick to soil. MOst organic nutrients will clog pumps on hydro dripper systems even with airstone anyway.

wow.. ur friend fucked ur plants up good,, . ive quickly learned cant slack on ventilation so if u cant have a large fan going. just dont even grow.. or stick with a small growbox where u can get away with a quiet fan cfls have grown me some pretty fluffy buds so far.. and ide say the resin content is kinda low.. . i guess its worth it cause its very cheap on electricity.,.,, maybe a 75 watt cfl and a fan.. ur runing like 150 watts.. thats nothing, and u can do a small plant just that

nice grow but one thing you see right away is how the light does not penetrate down the plant & the leaves are much smaller on down. induction grow lights are amped up florescent lamps that penetrate over 30" for much better bottom growth & they run @ 1/2 the watts of the HID lights I was using. Same problem with LEDs I've been on induction now for going on six weeks and I have some very healthy babies. theres a video - indagro- & the site has pics worth ck out if you hadn't heard of induction

OK, simple question.......we want to grow 4-6 indoor plants. Dont want to over do it, or go nuts. Can someone please tell me what type of light we want for feminized seeds. What should we ask for at the local store? Our outdoor harvest got eaten by deer 2 days ago 1 month before gand daddy harvest. we are so bummed out. so we are gonna do indoor. we dont wanna go crazy. maybe spend no more than $200-$300 on lights. A simple decent answer will do and be appreciated. Thank you.

With that much money I would get 2 types of lamps. You need two different light spectrums for growing and flowering. Buy 1 4 ft 250 w CFL with T5 lamps, found at your local grow store. Buy one 400 watt HPS for flowering. Growing is 18-20 hours of light a day, flowering is 12 hours of light a day. You need proper ventilation for the HPS cause it gets very very hot and can burn down your house. If you buy just the lamps, it will stay around 300, but you need much more.

The fan leafs are the sugar factories that ignite the spark of magnesium into photosynthesis. If you clip a fan leaf off but leave the corresponding branch on the plant then the growth and yield becomes affected. An alternate option to prune your plants it just to top the plant and cultivate four or six main branches leaving a fan leaf on the plant for every branch. Hope this advice helps. @maslabud no need for ballast...but you need a mogul socket same as regular but hole is a bit bigger..and plugs right straight to the wall.....bulb usually go for about 40 to 45 bucks and the mogul socket with cord about 20 bucks or the reflector hood for about 35 to 45 bucks ...i have 2 of them
