@teslapower220 Shouln't have overvoltage issue as the voltage is controlled electronically. However the frequency could go out of range. Normally there should be a protection for that which "disconnect" the generator (actually it shut off the field current, effectivelly stopping the production). However with a runaway engine this is even worse: no load now!
That Flip Video camera shoots some good footage... Think I will invest in one...
So did that engine ultimately wind up turning in to a grenade? It was building a lot of speed at the end there...I can only imagine what the rest of the events were
Yeah that's what my uncle did to his truck... He has an old Long nose Pete with a Detroit 12v71TA..One day it decided it was going to run away... blew a turbo seal... So he grabs his fire extinguisher and shoots it in to the intake... The motor didn't reach a dangerous RPM but it was heading that way real fast...He replaced the Turbo and that truck still runs good to this day..
APU?

Wonder what happened to the things that were taking electricity from it. Did they over-volt and blow up?

did it ever scatter or did they get it shut down in time?

@alecluke844
I think it came to a screeching halt without scattering.

take a screwdriver take the intake off at the turbo and stick a plate on it... or yes a fire extinguisher in the intake will do it

CO2 fire extinguisher in the intake will do it
