First tab is wrong, it shoul've been 17-20-19-17

Then the lick goes like this(double dashes just to show the patterns)

-17-20-19-17--13-17-16-13--16-­19-17-16--12-16-13-12-- ...etc

Think of it as starting notes go two notes back and then one note forward

The short coming to Neo Classical is it's all template based shapes and theory reliant so it ends up sounding exactly the same by the third song no matter who's composing and playing it.

I have a love hate taste for it but lets face it, most neo players are snide assholes with no unique artistry. That's the REAL reason they remain underground. They're a dime a dozen.

When he gives the notes for the A harmonic minor at 2:16, its a mix of C major and A harmonic minor (their almost identical except the major has G while the harmonic minor has G#) If he is playing the harmonic minor, the 15 should be 16. If he is playing the C major, the 4 should be 3. I cant tell what he's playing, someone should look into it :)

no with a classical guitar it would be "real classical" not neo classical, even vivaldi made a composition for the guitar, that my freind is classical, neo is new classical mostly dealing with metal or rock.

I wish people would stop trying to categorise and sub categorise. Especially when those doing it are under 30 and have no clue what they're talking about.

Hard rock IS heavy rock which IS heavy metal. They are one and the same. heavy Metal had a stigma and so the record industry started marketing as Hard Rock instead. Epic also invented the term "Soft Rock" to lull in those put off by"Hard Rock.

But it's all one and the same. The names mean nothing. Ie: Hair Metal, Cock Rock - all the same.

The names are menaingless and in the early 90's, it got so out of hand, with each band trying to distance themselves with a new sub genre that Ozzy said "it's crazy! It's just rock 'n' roll and now every one insists they have their own style. What next - gay metal?"

There are only about 3 different categories within the metal spectrum: AOR, metal (mainstream) and thrash. All bands will fall into one of these 3. In each, some will be softer/heavier but they are all covered.

And Neo Classical is *NOT* a sub genre of anything. It's a loose and misleading term to indicate the influence of classical composers. it can be used in any form of music from jazz to metal.

And if it is in metal, it isnt a sub genre, it is just metal played with a neo classical slant.
