i must admit until my Dads passing on the 2/1/ 2012 and this song being played on the way in to his funeral service i had forgot how unforgettable this tune is great song and a lasting memory of my Dad
R.I.P Alan Edward Horrocks 1943-2012 missed but not forgotten.
@Ishitoneveryone It is a jazz song. I am currently taking the Survey of Jazz and popular music and this is one of the first recordings she had us listen to.
i fucking hate how GAY ass drake pussyhead has more veiws than NAT KING COLE its just not right. he talks about fucking and shit yet Mr.King talking about love.
@G3N3SiD3 welcome to the sad society that we live in. just think we are the only ones that can change it, but we don't it is all about STYLE BEFORE SUBSTANCE these days
@janelley2008 try ella fitzgerald also, im a sailor and when the sea is really rough and i have to sleep i listen to ella fitzgerald and it calms everything around also
My late father love Nat King Cole. I chose this song to be played as his coffin was carried into the crematorium. Always gets me in the heart when I hear it.
my father had all of his records.i grew up in the 70s with my pops playing them all the time. even as a little kid, i knew this man could really sing. my pops passed away 23 years ago. there will never be another man like my father. and you better know, there will never be a another Nat King Cole!
Elvis was King of Rock. Jackson was king of pop (and pedophilia). Nat King Cole is the King of... whatever style this is, I'd classify it as "beautiful."
@ImWatchinTheTube watch it on the "pedophilia" label. don't be so prejudice, you didn't know him on a personal level, nor can you provide sufficient evidence that he was eve guilty, as did not the court and grand jury couldnt find when they declared him innocent back in 2005
@N1CKLBACK It's equally as prejudice to say he was innocent, he may have been "not guilty" through the court system but the fact is there was alot to suggest he was guilty, however no hard evidence was found. We will never really know if he was guilty or not, it might have been people trying to scam money out of him, or it might have been people trying to make the best from a bad situation.
I'm so glad my parents introduced me to the classics like Mr. Cole here. There was so much soul in what they sang no matter what it was about and I didn't feel embarrassed listening to it like some of the songs today where the lyrics seem like they were written by wild animals in heat.

This was my nan and grandads favourite song that they'd dance to together, and it will always remind me of them forever more. They, and Nat King Cole were truly unforgettable <3
I took my sweetheart, darling Donna to the drive in movies in the mid '50's in my '46 Chevy Coupe. During the intermission we were "pitching a little woo" (making out, as it was known then) when this lovely song by Nat "King" Cole came over the wired heater/window speaker. Before I knew what was happening, Donna reached down and gently unzipped my trousers and gave me a blow job. I came like a bucket full of silver dollars!!! I'll never, ever forget it!!! Thanks for the memories, Bogart
Certainly we can be nostalgic for the music of the era, but I'd quarrel with the assertion that it was a "better world" considering that Mr. Cole wouldn't have been permitted to dine at the establishments where he often performed.
i cannot say it better. black performers in those days are 'owned' by their white producers, managers or recording companies. so admiration was the only privilege they could get, but hardly in any other things like social or financial privilege.
This is a lovely song but makes me feel sad. Much older than me and older than my mum but I still think it's a great song. This was one of my granmother's faves and it was played at her funeral.
We did this for a group at my school called Celebrations, and we would pair up with someone and sing together. Some people were with their boyfriend or girlfriend, but even if you weren't, it still made you teary.
This was played ay my granmothers funeral a few months back. She'd had been a fan of his for years. I think he's got one of the best singing voices I've ever heard xx
