around 2:25 sums up one of his major challenges.... he cannot go in for a kiss and show any physical affection to someone whom is emotionally connected to him... it was obvious she was waiting for him to kiss her, but somehow it never registered with him because of his sexual habits.... I have not seen the movie, but in many ways I think I can relate to him and it has taken me some major down time and reflection to try to escape the circumstance that the main character in Shame found himself...
This movie is incredibly sad and unsettling. The acting is out of site. The critics have said that it moved too slowly, but I was annoyed when it ended because I could have watched more of it. And, yes, the chemistry between these two is very good, very realistic.
I saw them both today going for a walk in London Fields. Seems the movie has its happy end.
