What's really funny is how the Flames are so obsessed with us. It's not like Canuck fans go bashing the Flames and the city of Calgary at every opportunity. With you guys its a daily thing. I think it's called an inferiority complex.

This goes far beyond a healthy rivalry. Canuck fans definitely reserve a special hatred for the Flames, but they generally don't drag politics and civic crap into the equation like Flames fans do. They also don't let EVERY message board topic evolve into a Flame bashing.

If you ever spend any time in Calgary you will quickly see that Calgarians are programmed to love Conservatism and hate Edmonton. These ideals are reinforced at home, work, and school. The Canucks threaten them.

Regardless of politics and Edmonton, both Flames and Canucks fans alike can be just as rude and ignorant as one another. It's just a matter of separating the smart fans from the obnoxious ones rather than generalizing
