  • Bit of a cheesy commercial but cool boats nonetheless. I've had two straight 6 tower of power motors (68 1000 & 69 1000 SS) and they were brilliant motors. Well made. The 1000SS is still in my garden just waiting for powder coating after being rebuilt back to showroom condition.

It isn't going back on my boat though, got a '99 135 EFI just ready to fit :) Should move my 16 footer quite well :p

  • sure mercs are fast and accelerate like hell, i'll give them that but go find long term reliability from them....you won't

  • @fishaholic2012 yes you will

  • @Jake45499 how come so many of the optis are breaking down up here in nj because of compressors, high/low pressure fuel pumps, and belts failing? out on the ocean people don't want that from a motor they spend thousands on. and the opti's i'm seeing break down aren't poorly maintained outboards, they get serviced regularly and i know the people that own them and they use the right merc oil and buy good gas.

  • @fishaholic2012 i hate the optis, i have a 98 200 efi merc and it is very reliable. i dont really know about the verados but the optis were a fail.

  • @Jake45499 i agree on you with that. alot of the optis aren't holding up and neither are the verado's...its a shame that its happening to an american company. i try to buy american but i don't want to waste my money. i own an evinrude and i'm very happy with it. at least it's american.

also the older 2 strokes from mercury are made very well. the traditional ones or the efi's. i had a 9.8 hp tohatsu 2 stroke which is a mercury motor and it was bullet proof...had over 1,000 hours when i sold it

  • @fishaholic2012 back in the day everything was made reliable now its all about the environment

  • @Jake45499 yep exactly

  • @Jake45499 the smaller 4 strokes from merc are solid, the ones up to 115 hp. come to the verado and commercial fishermen and professional guides up by me in nj are seeing loss of compression at only 5k hours. thats not alot of hours for a motor used almost every day. all manufacturers will have products with flaws that eventually get fixed. the evinrude ficht was known as a time bomb but in 02' they were fixed by bombardier. i own an 03' ficht and it's given me many hours of reliable service

  • i like donzis

  • wooow im naked right now! s

  • 1200sci baby haha

  • I have had a Bullet and now have a STV.

Bullets are awesome Bass Boats, but the STV kills it for speed.

  • i like fast boats though

  • evinrude is better

  • Yeah thats why Omc went under and bombardier had to buy em right....

  • why do you troll every video on youtube with a bullet boat in it and talk shit?

  • Bullets are the bomb. My buddies does 107 that's freakin' fast on the water.

  • There are at least a couple of Bullets that have run 120mph, yes that's haulin' ass for any outboard.

  • close, but record speed for a bass boat as an allison xb that got 116.8 mph, and yep it was a hi-perf merc

  • That Bullet couldn't get out of its own way! STV for me.

  • Bullets are awesome dude...but they arent built for pure speed... they have to handle rough water and carry fishing gear, livewells and a big gas tank. Still there are many bullets that can run well over 100 and thats pretty awesome for a bass boat.

  • Bullets are built for speed. That's why if you look at a bullet layout, all it is as far as storage goes is two rod lockers on the front deck. True blue bass boats designed for nothing but fishing never go over 85 mph. Not knocking bullet, even I would like to go 110 every now and then

  • just so you know bullets have 3 gigantic rod lockers on the front deck... 2 on the side, and the middle one can fit 8' foot rods easily... I frequently take 15 rods with me, and there is still room for 10 or so more... and I only have the 20 footer

  • Well then I don't know what kind of bullet you're drivin. Why don't we lay it down right here?!

  • go to the website and take a look at the layout of the 20xd, 20xdc, 20xrd, 21xd,21xdc, 21xrd, and the 21rdc... these all have 3 massive storage areas up front... and two big storage areas behind the driver and passenger... im driving a 20xd... now you know what kind im driving... ok im done laying it down right here...

  • @rangerbass519 aint nothin can ride like a ranger

  • rubber coated reed blocks... yeah baby

  • ok

  • ha my dads driving the bullets in this video and yours isnt..losers

  • Are you as ugly as he is?

  • Whats your dads name? Cause these are the same videos from the Mercury Racing test trials? Does your dad work for Mercury?

  • Reid Cox..works for bullet...and the 250hp test against the yamaha was also against the new etect ..at the time though the etec didnt have a production low water pickup..but the merc still killed everybody in every class..and ran right at 91mph with a 28p worked prop from Hydromotive family....thats just sick for a stock 250hp..

  • Whooo Baby!!!!

    Got to love it!
