  • They are the generic brand of Interpol. just saying...

  • i thought it was Boners

  • viva el indie

  • Excelente grupo!!! que buena rola

  • One of the best Editors songs. Very nice guitar riff. Simple and easy to learn.

  • tlenen un estilo difernte q lo hace distante a diferentes bandas es unica en su estilo interpol puede ser parecido

  • interpol hahah

  • I could fall asleep to his voice, every night. I love this song.

  • I always come back to this song after a couple breaks up or a friendship ends... The line "In the end all you can hope for, is the love you felt to equal the pain youve gone through" always cheers me up in those moments

  • @MrEjemploanonimo That's my favorite line too!

  • I don't think it's bad to say it sounds like other bands. It happens. I love Editors as well as New Order, Joy Division, White Lies, U2... I'm not going to fight about who is better, I listen because I enjoy.

  • FTW... Just like bosses!

  • "Are your eyes

    Showing off for mine"

Quite possibly one of the very best lines in a song ever!

  • singer is.. haha.. giggle. dude voice

  • "Your face in my hands is everything that I need"

  • This band open a acount in twitter please help with follows are a great band @EditorsBand in twitter ;)

  • In the end all you can hope for

Is the love you felt to equal the pain you've gone through!!!

  • but they do sound like them ... in a good way .. love that style of rock . love interpol and joydivision ,this is an awesome band thats what mattersz.

  • Honestly I don't care who sounds like them or who they sound like... no matter what band, there will always be another that sounds similar, but there are always things that make them unique and different. I love Interpol, and Joy Division, but I love Editors even more. You will NEVER find another band with Tom Smith's voice!

  • in the end all you can hope for

is the love you felt to equal the pain you've gone through

the story of my life :(

  • People Hate my Ipod musics cause it just have unknown musics

    Fuck you all

  • If you like Editors check out Ocean Red on Facebook! These guys inspire our sound.

  • aguante editors!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

  • love you guys

  • I don't understand why absoultely every-fucking-body compares Editors to Joy Division

The sound much more like U2 or coldplay in my opinion

  • @gogolplex74 U2 And Coldplay ?¡ You need a new pair of ears my friend :D

  • @skatafario there is obvious U2 and Coldplay in this song... I doubt you have listened to either of those bands

  • @gogolplex74 in this song maybe in the beggining (guitar) but in others hell no

  • @intersanctum well yes most songs from back room sound like U2 and most songs from an end has a start (especially those with piano) sound like coldplay

on 3rd album, they start to sound like NIN and New Order

  • This video was just added to a music playlist at JustPlay.fm

  • great band , its a rare thing today

  • fucking love editors

  • Like JD?.. maybe a little... but Paul's voice is more... hmmm. Godly? :D

  • @TheDarkMinister Tom does have a better voice out of Ian and Paul, as he can reach the notes they can't, however everyone has their styles and I love them all

  • awesome sound!!!!

  • there is nothing better than them, even when they´re not so "famous" in Latin America, I mean Colombia, right now I only have one word for Editors= PERFECT!!!

  • can`t wait to hear them TODAY in Latvia @PositivusFestival .....

  • guitar reminds me of "The Cult - She Sells Sanctuary"

  • Here's what I think (nobody cares what I think, but...) The vocal style is eerily similar to Ian Curtis (from the "Closer" album, when he was on key) and the rapid electric lead guitar could easily be from U2's The Edge circa the early '80's. Taken as a whole, the Editors do not sound just like Joy Division or Interpol. I know these things because I'm the World's Greatest Dad!!!

  • @curtissuzzie They obviously sound like Joy Division so does nearly everyone from this whole genre... its not a bad thing or an insult its just fact.

  • the bass line reminds me joydivision...

  • Hey, their n.1 album was the Back Room... However, this song makes me feel loved and happy... But Im... Im forever alone T T

  • I admitt all these bands Interpol, The editors, the smiths, Joy division, White lies, The killers, U2, The National, Local Natives etc.. have at least a small particle of similarity in their songs and styles, but who really cares? For ex. I'm a big fan of Interpol i fucking love them but I don't go to other bands videos to insult them for a similar note or chord because I love music in its own, I aprecciate every single musician for it's work.

    Peace

  • thanks but I still hating yooouuu :(

  • i'm really sick of listening how Editors is like Joy Division. Maybe Tom Smith sounds like Ian Kurtis... but how about the rest ? The music, the istruments, the structure of sound... thats whats completely different. They're not even a real indie rock. They are just one in their kind. Stop comparing them to other bands.

    Love you Editors !!!

  • @nortiaable The instruments and the structure are similar too, i'm not saying that they are rip-off, but they have influence of JD. But, they're a great band, one of my favourites, i really like their sounds. Just my opinion mate.

    [sorry for my bad english.]

  • @MrKayKun sorry, but they are closer to White Lies and Interpol with their music.... there is no influence of JD. Listen to the interviews. They've never wanted to be like JD, they've never thought about themselves in that kind of way. When I listen to Editors and then JD, I can't hear the similarity (i mean music, not voice) , just my opinion.

  • Sounds so much like Joy Division, but i love, great song.

  • @mrNayak1 naaaah sounds more like Interpol ( the voice) or White Lies.

  • @KxK96 both vocalists of interpol and editors sounds like Ian Curtis, but i really like their baritone voice. And I love post-punk and indie bands, i'm just makin a point. White Lies are total rip-off of JD, they don't even try to hide.

  • @KxK96 maybe a little!

  • @mrNayak1 LOL, I'm a big fan of Interpol, mate and seriously I have never seen the similarities with Joy division. Mr. Banks sounds nothing like Ian Curtis ( not even in Turn on the Bright Lights wich is the rawest album)

Have a nice day and sorry about my english X)

  • @KxK96 bullshit Paul both of the bands sounds JUST like Joy division sometimes even much more alive and the comparisons and associations are inevitable.

  • @feyenordina well I don't really find the similarities so.. I have my opinion you have yours.

    Have a nice day.

  • @mrNayak1 he sings like curtis, almost he have the same voice...

  • Im bored about people comparing Editors with interpol(great band), joy division(legend). Just jugde for be editors and for the music, for what they do, they are original and when i listen another bands i can see the editors style, but what matter. Whatever what are you fucking saying, no matter what are you fucking listen, just matter the fucking music, and dont wanna be inappropiate, editors sound better than Interpol, i know i can be talking shit, just stop comparing and judge for the music.

  • @maderock666 NO WAY, INTERPOL IS BETTER :O ! hahah np , it's your opinion and I respect it, Cheers.

  • @KxK96 Jajaja, i accept your opinion, i love interpol but i think, jaja, in my opinion, editors is like more complete, i think, and tom smith voice is different, and the live performance are great. Bye, have a good day and the most important think is enjoy music no matter what you like more.

  • i wish there were more bands like this instead of the stupid rap and mainstream shit we have now WOO

  • @bamfpartyguy then It would be a boring really really boring world my friend, it's called musical diversity lol.

  • @KxK96 uhhh well i guess for the people that like rap and hip hop haha :DD

  • Disregard any similarity in this light is the best album of the decade......

  • Love the Interpol.... so i love it too =)

  • Maybe these bands sound the same because they are of the same genre, geniuses.

  • @cometogether21 we get that, genius.

  • I LIKE IT !!!!!

  • One of the best bands you can possibly go and see, terrific live!

  • Editors - Queima das fitas de Coimbra

    ESPETACULO!

    Party a(m)i(n)als !

  • 2:18 Ayuntamiento de Madrid!!

  • joeil3ol@....there is manierism in those band. They are cool, fashion, so they are not so deep as their models...it's a pretended postpunk, not really true.

  • I have to say the song's start reminds me a lot of "I will follow" from U2. Other than that it's very original and good.

  • While I agree they shouldnt constantly be compared to other postpunk bands like Joy Division, comparing them really should not be seen as an insult.

I'm very proud as a postpunk fan however that there is actually a modern postpunk band that people actually know!

  • you just got to love the singers voice. Its not like anything i ever heard before, no autotuned junk but pure and raw.

  • que buena musica carajo, come on the good work Editors!!

Best music I have listened in many years.

    Cheeks from Peru

  • i wish radio station would play some music like this i get bored of them just playin the same song's nuffin wrong wiv it but come on so many classic an good new stuff why keep playin the same 40 over an over

  • this band the ugly copy of joy division. Listen to the original.

  • @blusclint ... I love Joy Division, truly. And as much Joy Division may be an influence on Editors, Interpol, She Wants Revenge, etc., none of them are trying to be or copy Joy Division. They connot be compared for that reason. The lyrics' base subject matters are completely different anyhow. Get over yourself and you pseudo elitism.

  • They kind of sound like Interpol, But regardless they are both Amazing!!!!!!!

  • Fucking adorable voice....

  • 22 people have no bones

  • Tell me it will appear sometime soon,

tell me it's on the horizon,

just dont tell me it doesnt exist.

    i want happiness to appear.

  • Genial el detalle de "ayuntamiento de Madrid"

    los mejores!

  • Yaaaaawwwwnnn! Is it just me or is everyone getting bored of the editors sound like joy division and Interpol comments! Who gives a fuck! most editors fans are well aware of the similarities so please shut the fuck up about it, no one cares!

  • @StoneyBoy84

Right? That's how I purposely FOUND these guys. By looking for SIMILAR ARTISTS.

  • @Wolvesblood97 Yeah whats your point???

  • @StoneyBoy84

I'm saying they are suppose to sound similar . . .I'm on your 'stfu' side :0

  • @StoneyBoy84 poorman's joy division

  • @StoneyBoy84 if you are fan of that kind of music= I mean all of these bands you should be enjoying their stuff not fighting and then every band has their own way and identity playing the same genre

  • @StoneyBoy84 but no one can write lyrics as good as Editors

  • everything about this band is mesmerising the lyrics the voice the music it just takes me away i feel as its just me and the music...and now i feel like a fag.......for saying all that..........

  • Besos desde España!!!!!

  • I LOVE YOU EDITORS!!!!!

  • i dont see why people compare editors to interpol, i dont think they even sound alike... i love both of them and i dont see a massive resemblance

  • no end?

  • joy division definately. Singer sounds a hell lot like Ian

  • yea but paul banks is a gimp as a person hes actauly alright

  • The guy sings a bit like Paul Banks of Interpol

  • dunno why you people are arguing. their music is good and its nice to have songs like these out as well.

  • Comment removed

  • interpol is one tof the best bands ever...

these guys are good too though

  • his voice is perfect!

  • he sings better in terms of actual talent to ian curtis. ian could never extend words when he sung

  • Interpol are so overratred

    editors are much better

  • @gogolplex74 no way in hell

how is interpol overrated? they are original and nearly all of their songs actually have MEANING in them. If you said it about some top40 bands i'd agree but with this. no.

  • Okay I'm a huge Joy Division fan but the similarities don't go much further than the register of Tom's vocal melodies. Editors is a great band that I'm happy I stumbled upon, don't try to take anything away from their talents just because you need attention.

  • Any song of Editors is amazing but this one, Fingers in the factories and Open your arms are songs that I never get tired of listen.

  • if he has such a brilliant voice that he has why not exploit it? so what if he sounds like someone else lots of people sound like each other

  • Editors are awesome hands down. People need to stop comparing them to other bands. If you can listen to this and the only thing that comes to mind is "rip-off" maybe you should rip off your ears..

  • @skeebert

If they'd throw their synthesizers away and pick up their guitars again, you'd be absolutely right.

  • @kutbaag You can dislike their sound evolution, but you have to admit band must evolve his sound. I think it has been a good grow.

  • @insurgenteluis

Evolving your sound doesn't mean make complete differect music. Ok, it still has that wave-sound, but it's not the music for which I admire Editors. Tracks like papillon are (also) admired by people normally listening to shit like R&B, so that, in my opinion, sets a standard. Also, new-wave bands changing to synthpop seems to be a standard since joy division did so. Of course this is just mine opinion, but i'd rather stick to the first 2 rock-albums instead of the last.

  • @skeebert Fucking YES!

  • Still a brilliant song! (Curtis or not... not really important)

  • I'm fucking tired of people he sings like Ian curtis IN CASE YOU PEOPLE DON'T KNOW THIS IS REVIVAL MUSIC INSPIRED BY JOY DIVISION SUCH AS INTERPOL NEW ORDER AND OTHER GREAT BANDS JUST BECAUSE HIS VOICE IS SLOW DOESN'T MEAN HE SINGS LIKE IAN SO STOP IT PEOPLE

  • Fekking superb!

  • One of my favorite songs of all time!

  • Who's play guitar? The edge? It's the same sound of War

  • @crapadesoc In fact, this riff is incredibly similar to I WIll Follow's main riff. Same notes, similar duration... A bit rip-off I reckon.

  • Joy Division spirit in early Editors compositions!

    Great performances in small clubs!

    Fucking great experience!!!

  • Awesome, awesome song.

  • WHAT A GREAT VOICE :)

  • @90denada totalmente de acuerdo =)

  • LOS AMOO!!! I LOVE THEM!!

  • factory record, get out this body !!

  • This music deserves a better videoclip. It has beautifull lyrics about love...

  • AWESOME SONG!! :-D <3

  • "Bones starved of flesh surround your acheing heart" to me one of the most beautiful lyrics ever written! i love editors they have the spirit of joy divsion but they are totaly unique and out there with there own sounds there new album is awsome

  • this band are amazing live i love them even more now

  • They where absolutely brilliant when they supported Muse found a new love for them when I saw them live! :D

  • this sounds like filler music.the only song from them thats any good is munich.

  • 0:10 (Y)(Y)

  • at 0:11 Vooruit in Ghent !!

  • Good band real good my first time.

  • I love them there so good!!

  • Fantastica!

  • These guys are amazing. They mean it. They are channeling Joy Division, as well as The Sound and The Chameleons, which takes nothing away from them at all.

  • @Boleskine33 You're completely right, but... the least they could is admit that they're heavily influenced by Joy Division (amongst others), instead of claiming that those bands are too old to be an influence. Takes away their credibility imho...

    Still like it though...

  • I saw them for the intro at a concert of muse 2 months ago, all their songs sounded the same but they are still awesome. They rock ☺

  • joy division?

    it's great anyway

  • Omfg! Tee hee! Too amazing! Too fricken amazing! Stop comparing them to other bands! They are original! The are also Amazing! Tom was BORN for the stage!

  • @gurrflapoo YESSSSSSS he so was.

His energy, facial expressions, and hand movements are amazing. It's like he is actively trying to hypnotize the audience...like he even needs to do anything else except sing!

  • 666

  • alle vooruit

  • Tom´s voice, as epic as it can get,...!

  • the nice voice ever

  • VOORUIT CONCERTZAAL GENT ZALIG!!!

  • For you I'd throw a lifeline everytime....

I love that line! its one of those epic lyrics that will stay with me forever. That pretty much describes every editors song. The lyrics are simply some of the best lyrics Ive ever heard.

  • buy cd

    excellent

  • 良い曲

  • vvs mar always :S ja ik sie se wtf xD xxxxx me gusta il diavolo c est garcon thaks

  • I really love this Joy Division song.... oh it's Interpol!! What?? It's The Editors!! No way!!

  • @woopibaby this song is nothing ilke interpol, and really doesn't sound like joy division either,..

  • I miss their old sound........ the new album didnt work for me

  • Beautiful song

  • They were way better as a guitar based band. I don't like all the new electronic razzmatazz
