There will never be another Peggy Fleming. But Kim Yu-na definitely brings back the element of grace and is definitely a throwback to Peggy's classic style.
Yes, but I find Yuna very intriguing! Love the flirtatious eyes....you can tell she has read a few books, and at least knows what is behind her performances.....thanks for commenting best wishes
sasha cohen has it roz sumners nicole bobek if she is still skating lisa marie allen they know as roz says that a triple jump does not make the better skater and of course dorothy hamill and the incredible legendary janet lynn but janet skated like no one else ever could
I definitely think that figure skaters these days have sacrificed elegance, beauty, and grace for athleticism and jumping. Not a good trade-off, if you ask me--although I do think Yamaguchi is probably the best of both worlds.
I was fortunate to see this performance on TV years ago. Unfortunately, the video quality is not as high as one would like. Nonetheless, I have watched figure skating for many years and in my opinion this performance is the finest example of movement to music that I have ever seen. Each position of the body, right through to the fingertips, is exquisitely matched to every beat of the music. Peggy Fleming is a great artist and this is an outstanding and transcendent performance. Bravo Peggy!!
Thank you ! The epitome of grace and beauty! As a little girl, I always wanted to be her. As an adult woman, I'd be satisfied if I could even WALK this gracefully! Your show of elegance is grately appreciated !
nice to hear from you frederica! I have a 1965 picture of me as an 8 year old, in roller skates on our front porch in Carmi, Illinois......in my mind, i was pretending to be Peggy Flemming as well (winning 8 World championships in a row!!)

Exqisite is all I can say. There is no other skater in the current arena who has such a delivery of grace and elegance.
