@skudaarkaat1 1st Violin usually plays the solos and the Second violin sometimes play solos but in a lower octave unlike the 1st w/c always plays Higher OCtaves. Viola is Octave lower than the violin so not much difference although viola is bigger and thicker than the violin.

You then decide to try out viola. You will then notice that there is you have to move your fingers out a bit more since the notes are slightly farther away from each other.
