1. The guy is a drummer by training.

2. The point is to make an instrument sensitive to gestures (capable of things like rubato, etc.)

3. Building an instrument (esp. one like this) doesn't mean the inventor knows how to play it. Quite the opposite, this is a new platform to explore. As he says, this is an instrument that explores the possibilities of expressing intentionality.

Just buy an akai mpd32, velocity sensitive pads. its not the hardware, theres PLENTY thats been developed. its the music you create with it. and this guy has created clicking noises.

not impressed though, its like a shitty keyboard in the shape of a square.

im sure the guy invented the mpc/mpd is not a good/famous musician, and look on the great music ppl do w it!

this controller is 100000 times more accurate and more functional then a bunch of 7-bit force sensors.

and some ppl love clicking noises!!!!! :)) just add the beat and u got a #1 hit!
