@matheuscardoso1 depends if your american or australian americans spell defense australians spell defence ame with american color and english colour :)
@matheuscardoso1 I think English is stupid. I don't care for grammar. Language was created so that we can comunicate. Not so me can make a bunch of stupid rules haha. If you know what the person means, then who cares HOW they say it? I hate it when I say "aint" and someone goes "Aint isn't a word!" If you know what it means, it's a word. Doesn't matter if it isn't in the dictionary.
i like the technique, but think about it, the way he grabs his arm, its so easy for the guy with the knife to pull his arm back, and this guy will have his hands cut to shit, and if i had a knife and i was attacking someone, my reaction if they grabbed my arm, would be to pull the knife back as well, and when you pull you have your back muscles in work, and your muscles will be stronger than his arm muscles, because your using your back and arm muscles to pull, whilst hes using only his arms
all the videos are always with guys in haltertops no sleeves with longsleeves its a bit more difficult o get a grip on arms soo plz make video with a jacket on
If the attacker use good knife will cut out your arms/legs/throat. thrust attack is performed only if your enemy is not far from you. if have 10cm blade then attack range must be up to 10cm away. If you try to block, parry or bypass the strike your arms/legs will be slashed in the mid air and will be no longer part of your body. Attack the closest point. Can't beat such attacks with bare hands. If you are unarmed then must run, call for help or use something as weapon.
An easier way to gain distance is using the same principles he said in the beginning: "No matter what strike comes at you, you have to move somewhere." The alternative of course is to just get hit. Kick. Violently. You gain distance from the knife to your vital organs, your feet are often protected by something (shoes of any kind, better than bare hands), and a strike is capable of knocking the knife out of the hand or hurting him enough to stop moving. No skill required and a child can do it.
He says anytime you're near or around the blade you could get cut; well genius, that includes the hands you're using to try and intercept the knife hand, and why two hands? If you don't grab that knife in the EXACT moment he instructs, you are setting your body up to get stabbed. The first mistake with trying to stop someone with a knife is to try and grab the knife hand. You have to be an extreme expert martial artist with tons of practice to intercept any type of attack.
@HmoobHer559 No, that's a myth. It's almost not humanly possible to do that in any position. The amount of strength required to snap a neck exceeds most human limits.
Great video! You explain the mind set required for an encounter like this and not a lot of people do. A retired special-ops operator taught me a slightly different variation.
Instead of raking the the eyes, take that same raking arm and bring it under the elbow of the knife arm, collapsing the joint and redirecting the knife back to your attackers stomach. Essentially making your attacker stab himself with the knife.
I don't fancy trying to catch the knife. Also the distancing is a bit off - if he can stab without taking a step, you're probably fucked. If you're already in that close, I'd say you should be attacking already.
@xxdomoxxkunxx I think the idea of disarming an armed attacker is pretty universal. Or do you mean that in Systema the knife is taken very early in the defence?
@Okaruwazashi usualy when the attacker's attack is first stopped his knife is usualy tossed aside or taken, but its universal in all of Systema (use the flow of energy against him)
such vids are a joke.. everybody has to train this for real.. over and over again. till you dont need to think about the movements. thats all about. when its became real you forget this cheesy youtube video.
@drago717 very true, but this could show you a new technique that you could practice with a training partner at home. also visualizing the movements in your head thousands of times will also help you be ready for an encounter such as this
This video is great! I wasnt too satisfied with the illustration of how the guy took the gun though. Other than that, it gives a realistic simulation of combat. Thanks! Keep posting more! :D
What I don't like about this certain defense is the fact that he is trying to grab. Trying to grab can cause a problem because you could slip and jam your fingers, miss, etc.
The real name of CQC is Krav Magá , its a israely fight mode developed for israely army ^^ its realy good for street fight but useless against a professional fighter
@Wearth2 -- Actually, Krav Maga is just one approach to close quarters combat. CQC is a type of combat situation, not a style. Just like MMA originally referred to cross-training in any of the multiple forms of martial arts but now is thought of as a style in and of itself. Close-quarters combat simply refers to fighting at a closed distance. Krav Maga is one style formulated for that situation, as is Systema or any other military H2H combat system.
i don't think I would have courage to rip off someone eyes, but... I don't.... maybe not know whileim front of a computer, maybe when i'm at a life vs life situation I would do anything
You people kill me who always say shit like "that won't work, just run!" And what are you going to do in a situation where you can't run? You're cornered or it's an attacker and his buddies are cutting off any escape routes. Combat training is about preparing for as many situations as possible and giving yourself a fighting chance. Yes, escape is the best possible scenario, but if you can't you better hope you took time to learn something rather than just scoffing at those who do. Retards!
@Bigvader lol that's really odd his buddies watch the escape routes?? really? why would they do that and wait till you get stabbed to death when they can all just bash you at the same time? Very few techniques in this vid are useful but most are not. You would do better off training your mind than training doing this because you don't know how your opponent will really lunge at you
@redhunt077 -- Training your body DOES train your mind. I work in a jail as a corrections officer and have seen the way fights really go down. Escape is NOT always an option and yes, people really do cut off escape routes or take up positions to keep the victim from getting help. So you're saying that because you don't know for sure how an opponent will come at you that it's a waste of time to train? Really? Grab a helmet and keep your drool cup close because you are retarded.
@Bigvader You actually think this would work in a realistic scenario?? By the way I didn't say let's only train the mind, but okay Mr.Spartan do your thing and kick asses lol. If you're a c/o you are either a rookie(likely)and never seen a this type of situation or you're not one at all =) but if you are then i wish you luck with the gassing retard
@redhunt077 Really? You're going to verbally attack someone in law enforcement because they've seen AND been involved in similar situations and, therefore, don't agree with you? Awesome. LOL. You're a joke. Sit there in your mom's basement and pick fights w/people over the internet on things you have NO experience with. In 3 years I've had to disarm 1 razor blade (suicide threat) and 2 shanks (1 threatening an officer, 1 another inmate). Believe me or not, don't care. TRAINING WORKS! I'm alive.
@Bigvader hahaa You think because you're a internet c/o you are so very special. Now look who verbally attack who first. You're just a karate kid who has been inspired by too many Steven Seagal movies. I'm finished with you, plus I KNOW how real officers act when it comes to these type of situations and THEY SURE DON'T ACT LIKE ANY HERO IN ANY MOVIE I HAVE SEEN! Now just thank the Lord you haven't been in this type of confrontation yet.
@redhunt077 -- You're done w/me? LOL. Awww, my feelings are hurt. Hopefully you're done with this entire subject since your words mean less than nothing. You have no law enforcement background but you insist that you know the answers. 1st, "karate" has nothing to do with this showing that u also apparently have no knowledge of martial arts either. 2nd, confronting inmates w/weapons has nothing to do w/"acting like a hero." It's part of the job and nothing more. We use non-lethal weapons in...
@redhunt077 -- ...most cases (pepper spray, pepper ball gun, taser, etc.) and I am a huge advocate of using whatever personal protection items you can. Even though I teach CQC and "street combat" tactics I also encourage my students, law enforcement or otherwise, to carry. Sometimes, though, both in the jail and out in public you may not have time to reach for a weapon or access to one. That's when hand-to-hand training comes in handy. Different opinion? Fine. We'll just agree to disagree.
@redhunt077 -- Is that how the Marines train? Was that how the samurai or the Spartans trained? "There are too many possibilities for attack. Don't worry about learning combat techniques and tactics, let's only train the mind." Rather than saying "Oh, it's impossible to know what the attacker is going to do so don't worry about it," how about training your ass off and preparing for as many scenarios as possible. That's what the warrior/soldier/officer does. Train or don't. Your choice. I do...
@attackoftherandom -- If that had been his main point then I would agree, but he's another idiot with no experience in the subject he's talking about who thinks he knows better than those who HAVE been in the shit. Ignorance is detestable, but WILLFUL ignorance is inexcusable. For the record, however, I believe that escape is always the best option...when possible. In some situations, though, it's not. In those instances you better hope you've had some training. You can't always run...
Are people really this ignorant to believe this actually works?? Let me give you guys the best piece of advice if you get in a similar situation, and that is run like hell. If you go into this situation thinking that you won't get cut, then you're either a fool or you have the fastest reflexes in history... this vid fails
@redhunt077 -- Nope. You fail...at life. I don't care if you think I'm lying or a rookie or what. I've been working corrections for 3 years and was recently promoted to sgt. and will become a bonded deputy at the beginning of the year. Believe me or not, I don't care. For those of you who have an IQ bigger than my shoe size, keep training. Is self-defense training perfect. NO. Is there always a chance of getting hurt? YES. Training is just to give you an edge over the average person.
@cexpistol2 Not if the attacker is still a threat and possessed a weapon. It's called proportionate response and legally takes into consideration things like was the attacker armed, size difference between attacker and defender, gender, combat experience/training or lack thereof. A jury/judge isn't only going to look at what you did but whether it was justified in that specific situation. Stomp a man for pushing/punching you = jail time. Stomp a man who attacked you w/a knife = justifiable.
another great tactic is to just turn around and run like hell... and i swear it's more effective than anything you could learn by just watching a youtube video :)
Wow that was good. My first time checking out one of your vid's. I am a former student of kenpo and can tell right away this method is very effective and very well thought out.I like how you say to do what is necessary for your own survival and have no compassion for the wounds you may inflict on your attacker but to still stop when ur attacker is disarmed so you're not the one going to jail for manslaughter. U remind me alot of my old sensei and his logic.I will definately check u guys out.
I'm waiting for the 'just carry a chainsaw' lesson, I mean you would probably have less of a chance going to jail if an eye witness descibed how you mowed the attacker down whilst laughing and dancing on top of the warm pile of ooze that was left after you 'defended yourself'. Apart from that seems rather effective stuff :)
I don't know if a 2 and a half foot blade constitutes a knife... It only takes a 1-2 in of penetration to cause a fatal puncture to your liver and only about 3 in of penetration to fatally puncture your heart. That is about a 3.5 to 4 in blade and will do the trick. It only takes a box cutter to slice an artery. Perhaps you are some sort of a "bad ass" that I don't know about but, I would be worried about a blade this size if I were you. I am quite sure you would be in real life.
@ThirdEyeLight Yes but first you have to hit those points a belive me its not easy to stab someone in a liver or other place. Sure if hes not looking, but a alert person will never make the job easy.
the expert is telling you when your GOING TO GET ATTACKED, so you gotta apply it when you are forced to fight, if you aren´t just flee, it´s better for yourself
If an opponent pulls a knife, it is a poke and hope situation he may be looking to kill you maybe not either way unless he has a very good knowledge of anatomy hes looking to kill, therefore there is no mercy shown against the opposition in a situation shown.
@divs1011 Wrong. Most guys that bring a knife believe it will gain them an edge over you and have no idea what they're doing. They're not duelists, they're common criminals. What kills you are the multiple knife wounds that can (and will be) inflicted. The best defense against a knife attack is to flee. Next best thing to do, grab something to put distance between you and your attacker. If you absolutely cannot get away, kick, kick hard, fast, and keep the knife from your vital organs.
The ONLY defence against a knife attack for 99% of the people in the world is to be smart and run away. There is no such thing as a knife "fight". There is an act of intimidation if the "attacker" wants to scare you then there is murder. Ask any special forces solder/retiree and they will tell you that a knife "fight" and disarming an someone who has a knife when you have nothing are acts of fantasy.
nice video but btw o anyone who hasn't notiCed it's not gonna be easy to dodge when the peRson with a knife is intent on stabbing you, due to the fAct you are going not going to be in a state of Zen, but be freaked out and that will severley slow down your response to their attack, and if You are thinking that you could easily remain calm during that type of situation you are;/ read all the capital letters it this post.
@pickachuuuuu Have you ever actually been in a fight? If you practice this shit becomes second nature. By the way this is coming a Montana State Games Gold Medalist x1 Silver x1 and Bronze x1.
i have a quick question. what are some tatics if the knife is held the other way? i know most fighters hold it blade pointing at the target, but what happens if the person holds it the other way? it seems that would be harder to defend.
@4everTenacious The trick is to be agressive all the time. I tend to expect someone to attack me and then that way if they do I can just jump into action and do my best to hurt them :) Using fear as a tool is a valuable lesson learned, understand that its you or him, so it might as well be him
i know its dirty fighting technique but after i have wrist control my boot is going straight for his groin as many times as i can land it then as soon as the weapon it neutralized im running is this wrong?
Pretty effective. I've trained martial arts for 8+ years, and this is a very good philosophy and technique, if you ask me.
He's absolutely right when it comes to brutality, taking out the eyes will stun the opponent greatly, giving you time to work out the other parts of the technique.
Hahahaha thatz funny how they fake the punching in the beginning but how the girl and tha dude in the bathroom she actually open-hand palm punches him haha lol
this guy has spent half of his life learning this fighting skills he properly can take 10 of anyone of you guys at the same time so stop marking him and shut the fuck up
@MorfeuV Police wont help you during a knife fight. Even if you run away, guess what that leaves the perpetrator? Time. He can run away too and get as much distance as you did away from the crime scene as you did. That or He might be able to run faster then you and knife you in the back. Enjoy your painful bleed out.
@MorfeuV Everyone does now a days. but your brilliant advice was to run away and call the cops. I'm pointing out the flaws in that. I carry concealed as well. One bullet of my .45 and anyone I know Isn't going to screw around with me.
So when he grabs the arm in the first block.... whats to stop the other guy with the knife using his other hand and breaking the fucking plebs nose? and with regards to stomping on his skull. yeah your goin to prison for that. you had him subdued and in no state of attack with no threat to you or others yet smashing the side of his skull against the ground makes you the attacker. therefore denying you the right to say "it was self defence" "honest"

Sometimes, though, both in the jail and out in public you may not have time to reach for a weapon or access to one. That's when hand-to-hand training comes in handy. Different opinion? Fine. We'll just agree to disagree.
Bigvader 1 year ago
@redhunt077 -- Is that how the Marines train? Was that how the samurai or the Spartans trained? "There are too many possibilities for attack. Don't worry about learning combat techniques and tactics, let's only train the mind." Rather than saying "Oh, it's impossible to know what the attacker is going to do so don't worry about it," how about training your ass off and preparing for as many scenarios as possible. That's what the warrior/soldier/officer does. Train or don't. Your choice. I do...
Bigvader 1 year ago
@Bigvader exactly... well put. It's about training for the "what if's". Cover every possible outcome and you won't be caught off guard.

@Bigvader i think all he means is its best to run if you can and that way nobody gets beat.
attackoftherandom 1 year ago
@attackoftherandom -- If that had been his main point then I would agree, but he's another idiot with no experience in the subject he's talking about who thinks he knows better than those who HAVE been in the shit. Ignorance is detestable, but WILLFUL ignorance is inexcusable. For the record, however, I believe that escape is always the best option...when possible. In some situations, though, it's not. In those instances you better hope you've had some training. You can't always run...
Bigvader 1 year ago
Are people really this ignorant to believe this actually works?? Let me give you guys the best piece of advice if you get in a similar situation, and that is run like hell. If you go into this situation thinking that you won't get cut, then you're either a fool or you have the fastest reflexes in history... this vid fails
redhunt077 1 year ago
@redhunt077 dude i`ve been in situations like that and i didn`t get cut, actually i`ve kicked asses jaja
GCGblaz 1 year ago
@redhunt077 -- Nope. You fail...at life. I don't care if you think I'm lying or a rookie or what. I've been working corrections for 3 years and was recently promoted to sgt. and will become a bonded deputy at the beginning of the year. Believe me or not, I don't care. For those of you who have an IQ bigger than my shoe size, keep training. Is self-defense training perfect. NO. Is there always a chance of getting hurt? YES. Training is just to give you an edge over the average person.

Is that multiple attack a film scene ?? I thought the attackers only waited for there turn in films ''OK FIRST MANS DOWN,.. MY TURN TO ATTACK'' mmm ?
what2put2put 1 year ago
in real life if you stomped an attacker while he was on the ground youd be in big trouble
cexpistol2 1 year ago

Arakash 1 year ago

Just one question..how do I defend my self from a 30 inch knife? Like the pocket knife this guy has doesnt worry me so much.
mjufpn 1 year ago
@mjufpn
ThirdEyeLight 1 year ago
@ThirdEyeLight Yes but first you have to hit those points a belive me its not easy to stab someone in a liver or other place. Sure if hes not looking, but a alert person will never make the job easy.

If an opponent pulls a knife, it is a poke and hope situation he may be looking to kill you maybe not either way unless he has a very good knowledge of anatomy hes looking to kill, therefore there is no mercy shown against the opposition in a situation shown.
I agree with the savagery of his defence.
divs1011 1 year ago
@divs1011 Wrong. Most guys that bring a knife believe it will gain them an edge over you and have no idea what they're doing. They're not duelists, they're common criminals. What kills you are the multiple knife wounds that can (and will be) inflicted. The best defense against a knife attack is to flee. Next best thing to do, grab something to put distance between you and your attacker. If you absolutely cannot get away, kick, kick hard, fast, and keep the knife from your vital organs.

hortti22 1 year ago
The ONLY defence against a knife attack for 99% of the people in the world is to be smart and run away. There is no such thing as a knife "fight". There is an act of intimidation if the "attacker" wants to scare you then there is murder. Ask any special forces solder/retiree and they will tell you that a knife "fight" and disarming an someone who has a knife when you have nothing are acts of fantasy.
DO NOT TRY THIS !! YOU WILL DIE !!
warrendozzier 1 year ago 3
nice video but btw o anyone who hasn't notiCed it's not gonna be easy to dodge when the peRson with a knife is intent on stabbing you, due to the fAct you are going not going to be in a state of Zen, but be freaked out and that will severley slow down your response to their attack, and if You are thinking that you could easily remain calm during that type of situation you are;/ read all the capital letters it this post.

i have a quick question. what are some tatics if the knife is held the other way? i know most fighters hold it blade pointing at the target, but what happens if the person holds it the other way? it seems that would be harder to defend.

@4everTenacious The trick is to be agressive all the time. I tend to expect someone to attack me and then that way if they do I can just jump into action and do my best to hurt them :) Using fear as a tool is a valuable lesson learned, understand that its you or him, so it might as well be him

Pretty effective. I've trained martial arts for 8+ years, and this is a very good philosophy and technique, if you ask me.
He's absolutely right when it comes to brutality, taking out the eyes will stun the opponent greatly, giving you time to work out the other parts of the technique.

One bullet of my .45 and anyone I know Isn't going to screw around with me.

this will get you killed or at least sliced up pretty badly. search for Paul Vunak and the reality of the knife.
Micahel213 1 year ago 2
So when he grabs the arm in the first block.... whats to stop the other guy with the knife using his other hand and breaking the fucking plebs nose? and with regards to stomping on his skull. yeah your goin to prison for that. you had him subdued and in no state of attack with no threat to you or others yet smashing the side of his skull against the ground makes you the attacker. therefore denying you the right to say "it was self defence" "honest"
