  • PS1 is awsome, but N64 is better. More bits and better graphics. Better games no matter if its first party or third, and thats a fact.

  • PLAYSTATION FOR LIFE

  • You really should do a list of the best consoles of 1985-2000 with the best games on each console.

since i have emulator for each console to my phone and play all games just need a list of what each game is.. or console..

  • I love that dog :)

  • third best console ever next to the genesis and SNES

  • I have one of these, great controller to play crash bandicoot, actualy it's just a snes controller with handles and 2 extra shoulder buttons :I

  • @MultiBr3tt well spotted and interesting point because apparantly the 'Play Station', as it would've been known as, was originally going to be a joint venture between Nintendo and Sony. It was going to play cartridges as well as discs but Sony decided discs were the way to go so Nintendo went developed the N64 while Sony continued with this console, and merged the words together for the Playstation branding.

  • @Fasneocroth thanks for the history lesson!!! :D

  • u can buy the same looking controller for PC

    its called logitech dual action

  • classical game controller is truly the best ever =)

  • where the hell did they think of to put shapes for the button?

  • it's funny how ps1 controllers and sp2 controller look similar

  • good ol' retro consoles!

  • mr woooooooooooooooooooooofffffffffffffffffffffffff

  • i feel the ps2 controllers like cheap plastic compared to the gamecube controller...it is my apreciation

  • i was looking at my ps1 and found out i have an SCPH-1001 module. It works fine and i love the sound quality when its plugged into surround sound speakers.

  • i bought a original grey ps1 in 98 and it came with dual analog! so your wrong, it was only 95-96 models that came without it

  • @ninendowii2000 i bought a grey ps1 in 98 as well! and then the slim version came out in 99 aha. memories...

  • I think the controller of PS1 looks cheap... But since you say it doesn't I hope you're right :3

  • my ps1 is buried somewhere in my house where i store everything

  • the dog knows the difference between a cookie and a controller! :)

  • I hated these old controllers because they used to taxed the hell out of my fingers do to their harden buttons.

  • like the 3ds my finger slips like mad

  • Is there a review for the psx console self?

  • why the original controller dont have analog:(

  • @razorbulan Sony copied it from Nintendo 64, and they didn't understand how amazing it is before N64 showed it.

  • @Zuomigundi

Grrr, it pisses me of when people ignore some facts >:(

If i wanted to be a jerk I could say Nintendo copied Sony and Sega... Don't worry I wont say that ^_^

PlayStation Analog Joystick (SCPH-1110) was announced in April 1995 (The dual-shock was announced a few months later)

Sega Saturn 3D controller announced about in same time.

The N64 and it's controller were announced later.

The media and Nintendo just made people believe that they were first :P

  • @ShiningWolf1992 O_o

Well then I can only admit that I was wrong. Thanks for clearing that up! :D

    Calm down :P

  • @Zuomigundi

I was calm all the time, just realized it looked like I was pissed for real ^^'

  • @ShiningWolf1992 the N64 analog was announced way back than the PS1.

as for the 3D graphics, nintendo also started it, with Star Fox.

but i am not saying that the ps1 nor sony are shit. like the ps1, it had some great games.

  • @RodimusFilmsnThings

Never heard about the Sony dual analog flightsick?

It was announced moths before the N64.

The DualShock uses same technology as the flightstick.

Before that, there was the 3D controller for the Sega Saturn.

Please, Nintendo did NOT start the 3D. They did not even start the polygon graphics.

There were many 3D games out there before Star Fox.

Interphase for Atari ST is a good example.

Besides, there is a 3D Tank game for the Atari 2600.

  • @ShiningWolf1992 wow, that's really good thing.

    thanks for enlighten me :D

  • @RodimusFilmsnThings

    No problem :3

It's a shame that the media gives all the credit to Nintendo for stuff they did not even come up with...

  • Yeah, it sure is a change from Nintendo and SEGA controllers! It totally doesn't look like a redesigned SNES controller, with hand extensions and L2 & R2 buttons.

  • i hate onlive adverts and i hate onlive

  • i LOVE classic games :3

  • I use to beat ass at wipeout3

  • Thumbs up if you didn't notice the first controller didn't have thumbsticks.

  • this catwoman/batman year 1 ad is the first ad that didnt make me wanna skip ;)

  • Iv'e already killed 3 Dualshock 2s but my old PS Dualshock is still alive

  • i still got this playstation :)

  • i wish i still have a ps1 but i just remember my mom through it when i was playing at age 7

  • it looks so... empty without the sticks

  • @TheChickenwing100 i know right

  • i thougth that ps1 was a 64-bit console

    now i know thats is a 32-sistem

  • I still have my PS1 and i still use it from time to time :)

  • @MultiBeatlesROCK me to haha

  • @MultiBeatlesROCK I use it all the time. listening to CDs, or playing PS1 games! XD

  • @MultiBeatlesROCK YOURE FUCKING LUCKY

  • @MultiBeatlesROCK how i can do them to play in ps2

  • It kind of does reminds me of the SNES controller.

  • throw it out . yuck

  • Mark is the only guy that can review literally ANYTHING and make it interesting. I mean he reviewed a goddamn BANANA and it was entertaining!

  • Wait, PS1 was 32-bit? I thought it was 64-bit along with the N64.

  • Can't believe you didn't mention the SNES controller...

  • Is there any Playstation one review ???

  • I call this controller the "Melting Dogbone" as it appears the bottom appears to be melting toward the ground.

  • To me it looks like PlayStation controllers are sturdy and made for performance.

Xbox are more ergonomic and casual.

  • i remember the old times when my friends bought a ps1 and i bought a n64 we used to play together and fight about whats better out of the 2 but at the end of the day we play my n64 4 player gold eye

  • believe it or not i fixed a dreamcast controllers by using parts of this one

  • thumbs up for the cookie

  • My dad still has his PS1 from before I was born (BTW I am younger than the ps1 and he got it in like 1997) and both the controllers like that and they both work perfectly.

  • i have this and a dual shock controller but i have since lost my dual shock...

  • Lol I still have it

  • most light weight and so fit in hands omg i miss it so much

  • Best playstation controller

  • Finger wrap around it :0

  • @chuggaaconroy i know +_+

  • The dualshock is the best and most comfortable controller ever created

  • @PSspecialist hell yeah

  • oldschool cgr <3

  • PlayStation .... Metal Gear Solid... Crash ... Modchips and copied discs .... high school .... such great memories

  • @PuI2ePLaYaZ Those were the daaaaays. Haha

  • Why dont you review the sony ps1 or playstation.

cause you have done PS2 PS3 and ps1 is most imortant since it started the PS gaming.

  • hey, if you have a playstation 1 please review it!!!

  • I remember that I play Metal Slug X on playstation 1

    good times

  • Has the ps1 controller Dualschock :-?

  • to me the playstation controller just feels.....unnatrual with the thumbsticks together it dosent feel right the xbox 360 one feels alot better

  • Did you totally forget about the SNES controller or something? The PSX controller was based off of it; it wasn't an original design.

  • @doshindude PS1, no PSX. PSX completely different system. I still don't understand why people call ps1 psx, weird.

  • @Jerix11 No, PS1 was the portable system, which isn't what is being discussed here. the PSX controller, as shown in the video (incorrectly marked as PS1) was the original one without sticks.

  • PSX = DVR. Fools.

  • @Jerix11 Oh, now I get it!

  • @doshindude The only thing I can say is: Could it be any different? almost all modern controllers evolved from the SNES controller, they all have D-pad, 4 button layout and bumpers... There were already SNES and genesis controllers, basically they had no options, it was either to make a controller based on something good or to make a base-less shit... I've already seen some PS controller prototypes and there were some very strange but in the end they chose the best (which is based on the SNES).

  • @doshindude no my friend that controller is FLAT the only thing that is the name are the UP AND DOWN LEFT AND RIGHT BUTTONS THEY ARE NOT THE SAME

  • @doshindude sony was going to create a CD add-on for the SNES but the idea was ditched go search ps one or sony on wikipedia

  • Ahh.. That's just perfect controller for FF 7/8/9.

  • yeah i can imagine it without tri sqaure 0 and x its called a x b y lol..

(i was only trying to be funny so dont thumb me down..)

  • Are you ever going to review the Playstation console?

  • @moimoimoi105 wow didnt know this video had anything to do with the xbox 360,and your argueing about fucking video games, get a life....please.

  • its so great its dog approved

  • AH, i figured out whats missing! The joysticks!

  • Sony: Nintendo will forever regret the day they back stabbed ME!! I WILL MAKE THE BEST CONSOLE EVER!

Nintendo:HA! You have no experience in this market

Nintendo (Post PS1 era):...Can you give us back our dignity, please? :(

  • PS controller. awesome controller.

  • I still remember sitting on the ground when I was little glaring at my TV playing my playstation. I have been a playstation fan since I was 4. Now I own a 320gb ps3.

  • too sexy

  • I play Frogger with this controler, and it hasn't failed me yet, the psx rocks.

  • The controller looks anorexic...

  • wonder what happened to my first psx... I sold it in 98, maybe its lost on somebody wardrobe...

  • indestructible? i think not lol

  • No PS button.

    No SiXAXiS

    No Analog stick.

    No vibration.

    Not wireless

Well,at least it has square, cross, triangle and circle. Best controller ever existed on earth.

  • @cendol94 *sighs* When times were simpler. :'(

  • Ah this takes me back, before the Playstation had analog sticks...good times

  • I like how this moron doesn't mention the SNES controller, prolly a Playstation fanboy.

  • @KingoftheArcades Actually he is a Sega and Vectrex fanboy : )

  • @KingoftheArcades And you're a SNES fanboy.Love all the videogame systems.Don't hate.It's just a controller.And it's better than the SNES one...ohhhhhh that must have killed you :P.I'm just kidding buddy.Do whatever you want.Peace ;)

  • Have you ever done a Playstation 1 review or will you?

  • Those buttons are very familiar icons, I see triangles all the time.

  • I was shocked when I found out you didn't have a review for the Playstation 1 itself

  • the first controller i ever touched how did i turn into a xbox 360 addict

  • @mattz50 cuz people who are addicted dont have lives anymore and because u couldnt stop you became addicted

  • why is there no Ps1 console review??????

  • @MasterChiefultra Mark doesn't own one anymore :(

  • I can't use Playstation controllers for sheeit! I can't wait for Street Fighter 3 to hit Box. I need an analog stick to be my primary left, not D-Pad. Works great with Mega Man X and Gradius 5, though.

  • THAT COOKIE LOOKED TASTY

  • GREATEST CONTROLLER IN PLAYSTATION HISTORY

  • PSN CODE GENERATOR /watch?v=37oZfm_E9d4

    july 2011

  • coolrom*dot*com Download ps1 emulator and rom files. You can now play all the games again. And you can choose other consoles than ps1. Thumbs up !

  • this was like a fetus for the next gen games.... lol just kiding i love this controller :3

  • final fantasy 7

  • I saw this and I was like OMG WHERE ARE THE ANALOG STICKS?

  • I have my PS1 still but some controler buttons ain't workin' XD. I still play my crash bandicoot games.

  • ps1 and ps2 awwwwwwwwwwww the days sony still made good consoles, unlike now.

  • @GamingandMetal6 FUCK YOU, YOU CUNT.

  • @TheDevineBeing dont be upset cause its true, and i have a ps3, but come on the ps3 hasnt even sold have the amout as the ps2..... that is sad.

  • Hmmm i still got my PS1 but shame is i lost all the wires!

  • i have a ps1

  • Ps1 For Ever

  • Good old gray controller.... :'D

  • Meh, the PS1 wasn't that big of an improvement from NES or SMD (Sega Mega Drive).

The difference between PS1 controller and NES/SMD is that it had L1,R1 / L2, R2.

  • SNES controller with handles and 2 more shoulder buttons. :U

  • NO THUMBSTICKS????!!!!!

  • that thing looks like a spaceship. which i had unyil i sold the console and controller for 20 bucks.

  • I love the dog :D

  • i still got one of this controller yeaaaaa

  • I want one that will work with the xbox 360

  • It's a SNES controller with handles.

  • cute dog :)

  • Reminds me of GTA when the camera was seen on top, remember that spent hours in my room playing PS1, very nostalgic

  • it looked soo odddd without the analog

  • Sony seemed to be the hardest word...

  • duel shock had vibration and analog sticks

  • Good old gaming memories

  • did u know, that analog version was originally invented for game called Ape Escape. And since the analog version became so popular/handy, Sony started making more games including it. Today about 99% of games, that were published after 1999 somehow require these thumpsticks. Thinking about all this makes me wanna travel back in time to golden era of ps1 gaming, since i dont remember much bout it before 1998 (thats when i started playing with tekken 2 as 5 year old, thanks to friends big brothers)

  • the PlayStation controller has been touch by me more than my dick....

  • Memories still got my ps1 too and my ps2 now my ps3 this video wanna make me play my ps1 again

  • it took me a while to notice there are no toggles.

  • Oh yeah, and it works well with some newer games (parappa the rapper 2)

  • I will forever associate that controller with crash 2.

  • @FlanDoEntertainment Same here but Crash Team Racing ^_^

  • rip off to super nintendo controller

  • now i just saw that there's no analog thumbsticks

  • this must be the best controller EVER!

  • i never bought a nintendo anymore after ps1 came out. i did buy xbox and 360

  • RETRO GAMING RULES!

  • I remember sniffing the box of my newly opened gray PS1.... It smelled like a winner to me.

The PlayStation and Playstation 2 was awesome back then, but the PS3 doesn't have that charm anymore :(

No offence to the fanboys here :)

  • @riomigz1305 crash bandicoot, spyro, and final fantasy. all really good on the ps1. but the ps3 versions for those games aren't, in my opinion.

  • @marioman4351 seriously! those games are reason enough to buy a ps1 back in the day.

  • @marioman4351 same with soulblade. the first 2 games were the best

  • @riomigz1305 That's probably because of the imposing against modifying their hardware. I get the same feeling. Love my PSOne and 2 (even got the screen for my psone! :U) but the PS3 just feels like a line to Sony HQ that I can't touch.

  • @Snotnarok very true man. I hope the playstation can regain their charm once again like they did with the 2 past consoles.

  • @riomigz1305 the ps3 and the 360 are just pretty much... the same thing :S, id rather play in my ps2.

    sorry for bad english lol

  • @nandi075 yeah, any game that comes out on the 360, also comes out on the PS3. The exclusivity on games nowadays is nothing, compare to the past game consoles. :)

  • @riomigz1305 halo?

  • @riomigz1305 yeah, and if they are exclusives they are almost the same thing, killzone 3 = halo reach, back in the day in the ps1 vs n64 vs saturn war, the 3 machines were pretty different, and in the snes vs genesis days, they were much more different, god in this era even the controllers look the same way lol

snes and the ps2 (this includes psx because its backwards compatible) = best consoles ever

  • @riomigz1305 i miss my old playstation it lasted longer than my ps2 and ps3 cant beat the classics

  • I forgot the first one didn't have dual analog sticks....weird. Its like its missing its arms or something.

  • I remember having to choose between a Saturn and PS1, I knew Sega for video games, knew Sony for Walkmans. Controllers had A B C, not little shapes. I went with a Saturn...it was a mistake at the time. But how was I to know, how would have expected that. Sony never did a video game system before, had a controller with funky buttons and it wasn't black. Who could ever expected that it would blow Sega and Nintendo out of the water for many years.

  • @MuttonAndTheHam i wonder what would have happened if the deal between nintendo and sony would have happened and the nintendo cd would have been launched.maybe sega would still be in the race.

  • haha my thumb has never slipped off any D-pad. EVER!

  • The PS1/PS2 are two really amazing systems. I also played a buttload of FFT back in the day. The best part about it is how responsive and playable their games are, which is a gripe I have about the N64.

  • sony seemed so innocent back then...

  • @luedriver And they still are.

  • @gp75motorsports Yeah right.

The user pays for PS Plus content and doesn't even have the right to own the games he/she downloads permanently.

When the PS Plus subscription expires the games stop working.

Just one of the many flaws, but still very good company.
