i've seen her doing my fair lady, and may i say she was amazing! that was the first time i went to see a proper musical, and the best musical! :D xxxx
Saw this woman play the lead in the west end production of Cabaret in 2008. Man, what an awesome big voice from a small woman. She was incredible, had to be seen to be believed.
with all your comments, i can see what your saying, but i believe every word she is singing because of it. she has a fantastic voice and an even better stage presence, i would be proud if i were her! :)

She should have stayed with "Emmerdale" and forget about singing... This is not an easy song to sing, and definitely not a song to sing for her! She cannot hold a phrase properly - I had a feeling she's too tired to brethe - and this terrible beginning!
You're basing that statement on this one song?! Amy had been leading in "My Fair Lady" for nearly 3 months when she did this. I would refer you also to comments about the musical arrangement below. I saw her in MFL in May '06. Her singing and acting was superb. I've since seen her in "Boeing-Boeing" (stage comedy is incredibly difficult as you have to anticipate audience reaction) she was superb! and "Cabaret" (superb singing again!) Buy her Cd. Return to "Emmerdale" (yet) What a waste!
I think Amy may sound a little pitcy because she's not used to this tune version of the song. This version on the clip is from the West End Revival Recording to suit Martine McCutcheon's vocals. The version on Amy's album and used on the UK Tour is different if you could compare the both together, she sounds different on both versions. The Tour Version should have been used as it made Amy sound even better. But none of the less, she's brilliant as Eliza!!
Indeed brilliant as Eliza. Superb as Gloria in "Boeing Boeing". I hoping to see her in her current part, as "Sally Bowles" in "Cabaret" at the Lyric in London. Apart from the above, Amy is a lovely person and very, very beautiful!
The show was in Birmingham when this was filmed. I think she was flown down to London post evening performance and her appearance was quite late, so I imagine she was quite tired hence why she doesn't sound as good as she should have.
When I saw her do the part in Manchester she sang is beautifully.
Dis she forget the words? Sorry, I'm using dial-up, otherwise I would be able to watch it and see for myself...I did watch it once, though, and I remember wondering briefly if there was a mess up.
I love the way she handled the beginning in such an Eliza-ish way!

Aw, I felt sorry for her when she came in late.
I had to sing this, and it is really hard to hear the introduction before you're meant to come in.
But she's good! :)

Amy would've come straight from the theatre, she'd been onstage from 7.30 to 10.30pm with only a 20min break.
On arrival at the studio, she would've had to block her moves to follow the camera and then be fitted with a radiopack mike.
This was also, I think, the first time she'd sung LIVE on NATIONAL Tv, she would be nervous, I think you would be too.
I hope this explains the situation.
To Amy I would say, Well done, You had nothing to get upset about.

She couldn't hear the music, because of the audience applauding and therefore came in late and had to find her place in the music.
