On a personal note, this is, dramatically, the most enthralling Traviata I've yet watched, and Netrebko gives a superb rendition. This opinion in no way attacks those who disagree.

A good enpugh soprano, no more. Some notes are off pitch, the coloratura is laboured and rather slow, and she loses some vocal accuracy by resorting to histrionics. The second GIOIR cadenza was sloppy. I saw her in CAPULETTI E MONTECCHI at the ROH last year and she was good, no more. I fail to see what all the hype is about. This TRAVIATA production looks stupid.
