This game came when Portugal was kicking ass with Luis Figo, Rui Costa, Pauleta and others! Nowdays it's all Ronaldo shit...the others live in the shadow, i wish i could see teams like in those times, where the passion for the shirt and country where above all the rest!! I remember the great Croacia, Holand, the David Seaman's England! Ahhh man...great football times!!

Sorry man, but you gotta search hard on Google, I've searched Google on english, french, spanish, german language until I found the game file for download. You'll probably find it easier now, since I was amongst the first ones who've put the video about this game on Youtube. I kinda made it popular again

Oh, and Mexico had the best kits in the game. Love that Azteca face on the shirt!

Because I'm a Serb. And what's wrong with it, Yugoslavia reached quarterfinals 1998 and in euro 2000 we went to semi finals. Where was croatia then? Not to mention that we had a draw with Brazil 1998 and that we won Spain and Argentina 1997. We had a good team. Even in this game look at our characteristics, we had the same abilities as germany and england.

@OtadzbinaiKrv well, i wouldn't call it 1998-2000 generation, they would've been at hteir best in mid 90s, same with croatia. partly this is also the reason why i consider croatia to be better in 2nd half of the 90s - because by then savicevic and stojkovic were pass their peak, while croatia had more world class players in the a bit younger generation: šuker, bokšić, boban, prosinečki, jarni - mijatović, jugović, mihajlović

but simply this one has the best graphic of all football games on playstation. PES and Fifa can't even touch this game

Btw I love FIFA's too. Fifa 99 is definatelly the best fifa coz it has the best Rest of Europe selection: there's my club Red Star Belgrade there, then other clubs like Partizan, Obilic, Olympiacos.... and many other world leagues.

A question to OtadzbinaiKrv!! Is this a Play Station Version? I am searching for a good football game. I have the Fifa 2000 and I'm quite happy with that. I also have ISS and Fifa 2005, but they were kinda boring. Wanted to ask you as well, if this game has lots of International teams where you can choose. I mean countries from everywhere (Asia/Europe/Africa etc etc) more than the other games

@daniricc yes it's playstation game. It has many international teams, but fifa 98 has the national teams from every world continent, for example latin america: you don't have just Mexico, Paraguay, Colombia. You can choose teams from every country there: Cuba, Honduras, Puerto Rico, El Salvador, Dominican Republic etc. Same goes for the newer games if you don't like 90's football. There's world cup 2006- same thing, all teams of the world. And now in new game world cup 2010 you'll also have them

@abSURDub especially fifa, example England and germany playing, commentator would discuss their rivalry etc. But it's not just it, football was also higher rated and better in the 90's. My team Yugoslavia (today Serbia) was the favorite in many competitions, especially when we passed round of 16 1998. Today football is all about the money, not loving the game

best football game yes, sounds funny, but I think I and only two more people had this game in town. Too bad this wasn't more popular. I got this game from germany, if only my friends knew about this game they'd throw shitty pro evolution soccer where all players look the same in a trash bin. I should've shown this to them, we were football junkies, spending hours in the gaming club playing mini tournaments against each other, we played for money, one of my friends went home with a pretty sum

yes, but isn't it more cool when opponent tackles you and ref sees the foul and then you get a free kick in a dangerous position or sometimes a penalty? Seeing fouls can be handy sometimes

Yeah, team kits were awesome (especially the Mexican kit with Azteca face on it. Theme music? Now that's a hard part, I erased the game, since I completed all tournaments that can be completed from international team leagues and cups to club leagues and cups. It took almost 2 months. So I can't upload the menu music. About downloading the game, that's a hard part too.... I searched for half a year to find this game. I can't remember the site. I think I googled on german or french to find it
