  • 2,137 watt hours in 30 minutes is about 20 amps at 220 volt. i guess the "charger lady" just says thousand (kilo) even though the unit is already thousands. doesn't instill a lot of confidence that they didn't even check there spoken readout.

  • 2009 - THANKS

Thanks for doing such a great job on putting the word out on NiMH, on EVs, and on the ever enjoyable drive-bys. It's always a pleasure to drop by and see a further post from you. NiMH RAV4 again soon, we hope.

  • I haven't seen one of these outlets in the Costco in Clackams Oregon.. I wish they had them or at least 120 volt outlets on the light poles! They might though, I have not checked..

  • 2,137 Kilowatt hours in 29 minutes 6 seconds! Wow major amperage! Seriously though, that is not accurate!

  • Where I'm from in the UP of michigan lots of work places still have plugin block heater plugs. same with canada has lots of plugins for block heaters. so the infrastructure is already in place for them. with the addition of thermal electric heating system should be no problem driving 30 miles to work and having it charge while at work and drive back and have heat. actually leave the heater on low while you work :)

  • Unfortunately, Optima no longer make the same Yellow Top batteries, since they were acquired by Johnson Controls (a GM partner company). GM wanted to insure the Optima YT battery could never again be used to power EVs, so they dumbed it down making it less powerful. Yes, they're scoundrels.

  • We're really going into the future backwards. Oil seems so old fashion to me.

I had a Sparrow that ran on 13 optima batteries. They didn't last very long. It was like they were designed to fail.

  • That car is built for me.. Really. I'm strong, electrically and mechanically apt and I could rebuild it from the ground up every time it breaks. Few years under my Belt repairing Mercedes vehicles and the schooling I got from them and a Vocational school was excellent.

1300 pound battery tray needs removing? No problem, 4 post lift in the garage Drive car on. Support battery tray, loosen tray Lift vehicle off.

Enjoying My electric Bike these days, perhaps a car one day.
