Excuse me while i change my pants....Damnit this is the 23rd time a Claudio video has done this to me today...their just TOO epic live i cant help it....
@rushlimbang Mic Todd is one of the best bassists in the world and Travis screams way more than him. Regardless, Mic does not decide when to scream, that is written into the song by Claudio. No matter who replaces Todd, they will have to scream when playing any of the already-written songs.
@ConsumingFire39 i know this is an old comment. but im sure you already know that the new bassist doesn't even scream the parts of the songs like Mic did, he kind of just sings them lol.
@ConsumingFire39 Well he needs to be more like John Myung and just let his bass do the talking. He has ruined a lot of Coheed songs with his ugly voice. Claudio can scream all he wants because he sounds good when he does it.
@rushlimbang Well, Mic Todd will not be playing with Coheed ever again, so I doubt you will see him change. Claudio wants him to scream/sing. Trust me, Todd NEVER wanted to do vocals... they almost had to make him do it.
@rushlimbang those screams made those songs as great as they were. mic and josh were the only cool dudes in the band. i saw this band live a bunch of times right after second stage and iksse:3 came out. travis and claudio are assholes in person and mic and josh were completely down to earth -- not to mention the fact they were by far the most musically talented in the band. with them gone, it's not even coheed anymore, so i really don't care what you have to say about that
@BadCompany2113 ok first of all you a dumb fuck.. mic and josh were great but they turned into nothing but loser junkies wallowed in self pity who put their drug over the band. second of all youve obviously never hit a bowl with claudio after a concert like i have or you would know claudios the fucking man, and he gets the giggles easily.. and third of all your dicks small
@gmkilla27 yeah, and guess what, after they were gone, the band turned into a big steaming pile of shit! so what is your point? first three records with original members -- golden. the last 2, pretty much unlistenable. also, i want to smoke a bowl with claudio sanchez about as much as i want to headbutt the sidewalk, so i don't really give a shit for your (presumably made up) stories
@BadCompany2113 Um, did you just say after Mic and Josh went, it's not even Coheed any more? Wow, you obviously know nothing of the band. First off, Coheed and Cambria is a concept to the characters in might I say CLAUDIO'S graphic novel. I respect you have an opinion, but saying it's not Coheed 'cause the drummer and bassist left is utter nonsense! And you obviously know nothing about Coheed as all of them are the most down to earth guys you will meet!
@BadCompany2113 Also Learn to know more about the band you are trying to discriminate! All members of Coheed are musically talented as each other, otherwise what you would be listening to is shit riffs with just a baseline and drums! And Claudio leads Coheed, and gives them such a presence when he sings, he can make a room of thousands of people scream and sing along with powerful anthems, yet he can silence the room with melodic acoustics. Yes, totally musically untalented! Just saying.....
@rushlimbang In addition, in this song Mic only screams at the very end. Travis is the one screaming throughout the entire last chorus. Is it possible that you do not know which is the guitarist and which is the bassist?
@rushlimbang Obviously you've never been to them actually playing live. Not only is his screaming not a huge part, but live his microphone is turned way down and isn't a huge deal. I don't wish ill upon Mic Todd, I hope he comes around again. You only get so many chances to play in a brilliant band, though, and he's used up all his.
@StaticFromage Seriously... Bad move Mic. That wasn't the best strike 2 he could've picked. He did say in the Neverender video that he was gonna do things differently. This wasn't the different I had in mind tho
This is what Mic Todd should still be like. He's too conserved now like... well like a regular bass player. That's bad considering that CoCa are not comprised of human beings
@hurtfan09 not sure what year, but its before Good Apolo, I'm Burning Star Vol. 1, because they would've played welcome home, and maybe the suffering. But its also after In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth 3, because they played A Favor House Atlantic, In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth 3, The Light and the Glass, The Crowing, Blood Red Summer, and Three Evils. So i can pin it in between 2003 and 2005, just not sure when.
How did Travis lose the weight? He could have his own weight lose program/plan type thing. And he could call it the "Travis Stever Weight Lose Experience".
P.S. I love how they're total nerds. In their free time they aren't snorting coke or sexing hookers, they're playing D&D. They may even spice it up with a comic or two. Only if they're feeling risky of course.
@Nickolocity Yeah. They don't seem to be in it for the rock n' roll lifestyle, but rather, they're in it for the music and the fun. That's mostly why this is one of the only bands I enjoy and respect as well.
As evil as the crowing.... As epic as the final cut....Even more pure then welcome home, and not to mention josh FUCKING eppard!!!!! this is the best ever!
@ConsumingFire39 I've been a fan for awhile now lol, but yea i have, everything from second stage turbine (my favorite album) to now year of the black rainbow...
Claudio has the voice of an angel, i don't care what anybody says about that comment, He does. I think a lot of you will agree with me lol. One of the most beautiful voices i have ever heard.
Amazing song, amazing music, phenomenal lyrics, but his pitch fluctuation when singing this live took away from the feel of the song. He's still an amazing vocalist. His gravelly screams are awesome live but his falsetto seems weaker live than in studio.
CoCa is my favorite band of all time and I can honestly say none of their other songs make me feel the way this one does. i get chills everytime i hear this.
my recommendation is for everyone to read the amory wars comics...it's like losing your virginity for a second time when you listen to Coheed after reading the story that gives you the visual for Claudio's lyrics
I have a pair of custom headphones that say "Come Know Me As God" on one side and a keywork logo on the other side
@JiggyNation Those headphones sound sick as hell! I got to see these guys live with Rise Against and it was damn near a religious experience...they are amazing.
I know people say that classic rock bassists are the best, like Geddy Lee and the Yes bassistm. I respect them, but Michael Todd is the sickest bassist of all time!
@kingdomEPIC I sort of agree. Rush is very progressive (Not classic rock) and Geddy Lee is incredible. That being said, I still think Mic is the best bassist. Mic can play any style of music and fit in perfectly. He is perfect at all picking techniques, slap, thumb, harmonics, classic. He is picks with 4 fingers and frets with 4 fingers. He is technically one of the best ever and is an incredible writer and filler of songs.
dont get me wrong dammit. this song is one of my favorites i just dont thinks its one of their greatest. its my opinion. and this song was one of their singles for their first album. this is one of their mainstream songs. i love the song dont get me wrong, but the way in which it was presented was mainstream.
this is indeed my favorite song of theirs and i think its their best..........i'm not a mainstream junkie, i never even heard these guys on mtv nor the radio.....
@matthewsinist3r Ok. I'll bite. This song isn't mainstream, not a single bit of this song is in any way, any conceivable way, similar to what plays on the radio these days. Mainstream music and progressive rock are not good bedfellows. Mainstream music follows a standard song structure and the moods/emotions are usually muted and the creativity banal. Nothing like this.
@Apocol0id Correct. I would agree with him on The Willing Well 1 being their best song (Along with a couple of others including this) and this being their best overall album.
@Apocol0id i like the thought you put into you're comment not to many people do, also i would have to agree with you in everyway although to take progressive rock and pull it apart from mainstream music is just a little strange to me like think of the best progressive rock band EVER rush they have made alot of very good songs that have went mainstream, tom sawer, yyz, etc. although most mainstream music is heartless so to say i dont think that progressive rock should be set apart from the group
@matthewsinist3r What the fuck? This song is on their first album. Any other song on any other record is technically more mainstream than this one. Nothing can top old Coheed and Shabutie. Not saying their newer stuff isn't good, just saying no music in the world will ever be in the same realm as their old school garage type stuff.
i remember when i first heard CnC. My friend was and still is a huge fan, anyway i thought claudios voice was stupid and annoying but oneday i sat down and listened to the following songs and was changed forever: Delirium Trigger, Wake Up, Everything Evil, Welcome Home, and Running Free
@UmbrellaSkies5 This, the crowing, the final cut, a favor hose atlantic, Blood red Summer, Ten Speed, In keeping Secrets of a Silent Earth: 3, and 33 are their best songs, i can't choose just one.
this is way off topic, but if we brought Coheed and Cambria back in time, i think we would have evolved faster. That, or Wilhelm Ryan wouldn't have been born.
@whtuwntfo lol. it doesnt matter, we both have friends that had something to do with this song and its a great song so yay to both of us for having talented friends lol.
