I may be wrong, have been befor. I don't think what you have is an Art Asylum STC. I believe what you have is a later version of the DST. To be truly an AA it must have a metal grill. Other than that and the packaging, they are identical. Great Vid. Thanks!
Great review on this fantastic Star Trek :TOS replica! When I first saw one at my local comic store a few years back....I bought it immediately! Great prop! I was also fortunate enough recently to get the 'Entertainment Earth" edition with the gold colored, metal antenna/grille and the extra Spock phrase.
Well done review, pilotperson. That's a great official Indiana Jones replica fedora you're wearing. I had to get one of those, too!
I just tracked down one of the ones made back in 2008, with the *real metal* matt coloured antenna/grille (later versions use plastic for the antenna/grille). Oh yes! I know someone who can slow down the internal motor, too, it lessens the noise and speed to make it more realistic and more like the original prop. It'll do me till I can afford a HMS/Roddenberry prop...that's for certain. Kudos to AA/DST though....for what are essentially 'toys' their phasers and comms are total winners.
It's an awesome communicator Art Asylum released. 2 Versions were actually released...the 'Shiny' gold grill and Toys R'us' 'Flat' gold color grill. I prefer the shiny gold but overall...it's awesome!
I enjoyed your show case.

Awesome! I have got to get one now. Where did you get that song from the stand by section in the middle of the video?
