  • screw seinfeld!! that show is weak.

  • Only Fools And Horses did it first... Just saying.

  • eh..both episodes were funny in their own way

  • The Simpson did it, The Simpson did it, The Simpson did it, The Simpson did it, The Simpson did it, The Simpson did it, The Simpson did it, The Simpson did it, The Simpson did it, The Simpson did it, The Simpson did it, The Simpson did it, The Simpson did it, The Simpson did it, The Simpson did it, The Simpson did it, The Simpson did it, The Simpson did it.......

  • That was really weak.

  • I love Seinfeld, and I love the office who cares about this

  • same joke...different delivery. Happens all of the time.

  • Not really... -_-

  • seinfeld < the office

  • Seinfeld one was funnier

  • OMG! and you know what?! You could see them both on tv and i could see humans soo.............. shit! Everything seems to be a ripoff now days,

  • Comment removed

  • ehh?

  • AND The Office is set on Earth! I SENSE A LAWSUIT COMING ON!

  • Milton Berle once commended a co-star for a punchline, saying, "I wish I'd said that," to which the co-star would invariably reply, " Don't worry, you will."

  • This joke was in Problem Child about 5 years prior.

  • The Office is a crappy show anyway...

  • @Rev1981 now it is, early it was good!

  • I have even heard a few examples of what I perceive as the writers of Seinfeld using concepts that were used/discussed on early 90's Howard Stern Show - I would listen to clips of the HSS on here and it would be extremely similar to a concept or situation portrayed on later Seinfeld episodes...but purely conjecture on my part

  • this whole vid is pointless but, its got a point...i reckon they did kind of steal it

  • Whats new? Lots of shows steal ideas from Seinfeld.

  • I know how to spell "that's".

  • I don't think that qualifies as stealing a joke, or jokes as it says in your title. I've seen that joke used hundreds of times before. It's just overused and cliche. Seinfeld did it the funniest but I don't think they were the first either. You'd have to find more "evidence" to actually convince anyone on the planet that The Office is stealing jokes from Seinfeld.

  • @Erk2542

It is pretty obvious that one of the writers was influenced by this.

Sure, the joke is 'common' but the delivery with the crying is not. Sorry.

    Office 0... Seinfield Win.

  • Do you not understand that it isn't really "stealing" a joke. That joke has been made years before seinfeild was made! And what do I think of my world now; you my friend are fucking stupid. You live in our world too, which makes it your world as well. So don't give me this "your world" bullshit. And how do I feel about it now?! I'm so shocked that a joke that has been told for decades now has been re-used. I don't know how I'm going to be able to watch the office ever again, I'm just too hurt...

  • Honestly the US version of The Office is shit anyway.

  • @dolph1999 Nah not really. Not until the later episodes.

  • This bit has been used often. Get a life.

  • @TheSludgeMan your mummas titties must be filled with flash, look at him run

  • seinfeld was not even in the first 100 to do the its negative? Oh my god I am going todie....its and old skit and many shows and comics have used it..

  • hahah seinfield is much better than the office

  • Writers and comedians often use or borrow jokes from others as an homage or tribute. It ain't no thang. Unless you're Dane Cook and Carlos Mencia. Then you're straight up stealing.

  • Sienfeld's was funnier except for the over-excessive laughter from the audiance.... worst part of that show.

  • @boltentoke as long as the audience is REAL and live, not some laugh track, its usually ok

  • @billytamer Usually okay but always annoying... would rather them just cut the audience sound out. Sometimes i miss what they say because the audience is so loud.

  • I bet they didn't even 'steal' it and just came up with this themselves. It's such an easy and obvious joke.

  • Seinfeld actually copied the new testament by having a jewish man as the main character

  • Reading these comments really depressed me.

  • I've seen jokes repeated on all kinds of sitcoms and stand up routines - some copied word for word and the delivery has been imitated to. This isn't so bad. I've seen Gervais and Merchant borrow jokes pretty heavily from the Office and use them elsewhere in other shows they've written (not even great jokes).

  • this joke is also in woody allens hannah and her sisters 1983

  • well, the seinfeld gag is funnier, but that's prolly because george costanza is funnier than michael scott. no shame in that, michael is still a very funny character.

as for stealing jokes, that particular line is such a common observation, it's hardly worth pointing out. "stealing" it is laughable. there were plenty of people who told that joke before Seinfeld aired it.

    so uh, yeah.

  • Watch out, we got a badass over here...

  • who gives a fuck? seinfeld is legendary of course people are going to use their jokes

  • everybody steals jokes from seinfeld

  • Meh. There was a Benson episode that used the same concept, so it's not even original with Seinfeld.

  • This joke has been made in every show I know.

  • That looked like Wesley Snipes at the end.

  • I mean this joke is so out there, nobody else could have possibly come up with it.

  • seinfelds is funnier lol

  • It's a good joke though, I imagine people make that mistake a lot. Besides, the two shows are from different eras, about 10 years apart, so it's totally fair game.

  • While I agree that it is the same joke, to be fair, once you've watched I love lucy, seinfeld, the dick van dyke show, and arrested development; you have effectively seen the entirety of television.

  • @existenceisrelative You clearly have never seen Black Books or The Mighty Boosh. ...or The Flying circus.

  • @Kirnus Okay, you've got a point about Black Books and the evil snake from harry potter. But I don't see boosh as something that everyone "needs" to see. And I'd like to think I know a fair bit about the crunch.

  • @existenceisrelative Your impressively versed I'll give you that. I was merely trying to point out that your suggestions hardly cover the wide and awesome range of tv comedy.

  • What's up, Sherlock?

  • @John102687 Even if u do something gr8 but its copied , IT IS GARBAGE

  • The Office did it better.

  • I think my world is basically spherical, rotating on a slightly tilted axis (in relation to the star Sol), and mostly covered in water. How about you?

  • How can people take this video serious? "What do you think about your world now?"

The video it self is a joke!

  • Nobody steals, but everybody is inspired by Seinfeld. Just look at Friends and How I met your mother. There is a reason why Seinfeld is widely considered as the greatest sitcom of all time.

  • my world is still freakin awesome!

  • To be fair, chances are SOMEONE is going to come up with that joke, it's a pretty obvious one, but still funny!

  • I can't fucking believe it. How can this be? in 180 episodes of Seinfeld and 162 episodes of The Office for a combined 8000 hours there is only one similar joke? Outrageous.

  • @TenYetis although i agree that shows with naturally have overlapping concepts, where the hell did you get that math from? 8000 hours? theres not even 200 hours between the two shows

  • @whitehops101 will*

  • @whitehops101 Haha that would be 8000 minutes :p I forgot to divide by 60.

  • lol!!

  • fack you

  • whatever, they weren't even joke stealings, it was a simple coincidence of a common misconception

  • I'd say more of an homage than anything.

  • my world has been turned upside down!

  • maybe Michael Scott has Seinfeld bedsheets

  • seinfeld wins. seinfeld always wins.

  • How come nobody realised that Friends stole TOO MANY things from Seinfeld? :/

  • seinfeld stole it from only fools and horses...

  • oh, stop your whining...

  • duh Michael makes it known its from tv shows

  • at the end of the day it will always be Seinfeld > The Office

  • Simpsons did it... i mean, uhh... Seinfeld did it.

  • U realize that's jokes been made for 30 years. Try reaching for straws somewhere else.

  • That joke has been around as long as their have been doctors and the word negative. Way to blow the lid of that conspiracy. Shhhh,

  • @yohaijohn What do I think about my world right now? Wow, you've really taken the wind out of my sails with this one. I don't really know how I will continue after seeing this profound video. It shook me to the bones. It rocked my very being. It made me quiver with anger, confusion, and hurt. I feel betrayed.

  • @zoomjer Yeah. SHIT JUST GOT REAL. Life can no longer be the way it was.

  • @zoomjer

    is that from Hamlet?

  • they also did it on 30 rock

  • @hypertyper23 LOL, How many hours of footage do you think we'd end up with if we posted a clip from every television show, movie, play, or stand up comedy routine that contains this joke?

  • Eddie Murphy @ 1:14

  • Lmfaooo Michael is a dumbass.

  • I really don't think that Seinfeld was the first show to make that joke.

  • idk what i think about my world, economy's down the drain, america is involved with more wars than u can count, global warming is destroying the earth, and i have a cold thats been goin on for three months, but two shows use the same joke? STOP THE FUCKING PRESSES!

  • The American office sucked anyway.

  • @Sailorsega boy does it suck. You can steal jokes, you just have to make them funny again. Good luck with that, Steve "hey look, I'm zany!" Correll.

  • @Sailorsega You haven't watched enough American "The Office" then.....

  • @Trashcansam123 I rented out the entire first season (and watched it all) and while it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be it was still very bad. The B.B.C. office is far superior!

  • @Sailorsega Sorry that should be "while it wasn't as bad as it could have been it was still very bad."

  • @Sailorsega how so?

  • @Sailorsega In my opinion the first season sucked, watch season 3-present.

  • That joke was actually in the movie problem child before sienfeld

  • Only Fools & Horses did this joke before both shows.

  • That really wasn't even close... I expected a verbatim copy lol

  • stealing and stealing.. i dont know.. Ive done that joke myself. and i hadnt even seen any of theese..

  • I cant find any humour in the American version of the Office, the Original English one however is hysterical

  • Office sux. Seinfeld 2012!!!

  • lmfao neither was funny haahhaaahah

  • Nobody stole from anybody else. Jokes are like packages: it's all about delivery.

  • @NathanBLawrence No a different delivery doesnt change the fact that the verbage is the same making it the same joke

  • @NathanBLawrence Well then they stole the package and delivered it themselves.

  • @NathanBLawrence not really, it's all about getting them before christmas.

  • @NathanBLawrence Usually when I get a package, I'm more concerned with what's inside than how it was delivered.

  • @NathanBLawrence

    bullshit.

  • Comment removed

  • @NathanBLawrence and Seinfeld delivers it much better

  • @NathanBLawrence Seinfeld delivered it way better.

  • its not even the same joke yes its similar but its not the same

  • dude they used it totally differently, theres so many shows that have jokes that are the same. theres an episode of Seinfeld where Jerry has a manpurse, and friends has an episode where joey has manpurse.

  • hate it or love it, this guys racked up over 350,000 views, what have you got to show?

  • Paramount Comedy 2, good times...... good times.

  • nope.

  • and simpsons probably did if b4 seinfeld simpsons have done everything

  • everything steals from everything ..gotta pay more attention

  • seinfeld is usually better but the office's version of this joke is better.

  • What do I think? That The Office sucks, and that anybody who doesn't like Seinfeld is a flaming retard.

  • Guys everyone ever steals all the jokes from Seinfeld. That's why it's not even that funny any more, because everyone stole their jokes and did them to death.

  • IMO George stole that delivery!

  • Its a joke that's been done before both the Office and Seinfeld

  • i like both shows but to me nothing beats seinfeld especially when george is saying the line

  • On the contrary, I think Sienfeld stole that from The Office

  • How is this video supposed to make us think about the world?

  • WHAT DO I THINK

  • Wait... you mean an old joke was recycled in a way that that was still a bit different??? The horror of it all! May they burn in hell!

  • the only way you can find out things like this is by watching tbs all day

  • @chevypillow247 word!

  • That isn't a stolen joke, it is a common joke that fits perfectly with both characters

  • i thougjt the odfice was supposed to be like office space except a series only the offuce is not funny at all and steve carell sucjs as an actor he was obly mediocre in rhe 40yr old virgin and thats. ecause of the supporting cast. office sucks and seinfeld is awesome. shit its all reruns and it still is funny. now michael richardsdeserves to die though. he is a scottish rite mason and is pure evil and a racist.

  • Whoops! The office didn't copy, they just did a similar joke but also in a completely different way.

  • The office didn't

  • It wasnt really stealinv, thyre just similar

  • really?

  • Even if it was "stolen from Seinfeld"... it was actually funny in The Office.

  • @Kirzan66 no, it wasn't. Seinfeld's was more funny. you fail!

  • Um....

yes.... this joke is decades old.

    NOT Seinfeld either.

  • it was Michael's birthday, he should be allowed to do that

  • No way! ...NBC should sue themselves!

  • @CaStormChaser There you go the US solution to everything, Sue!! It's a simple comedy bit done to death. Both shows have merit. Give it a break.

  • @kosovo2252 Are you stupid or something? He was making a joke idiot. How about you get your piece of shit country Afghanistan in line before you criticize our country asshole. Can't walk five fucking yards there without stepping on one of your own damn landmines.

Don't like the US? Stop watching our tv shows, get the fuck off of YouTube, and stop speaking English. Have fun making a porn film with Bin Laden's dead body.

  • @jfranko29 As long as US citizens keep denying the decline of their own country, the worse things will get. Unemployment, health care, mental health issues and education are massive concerns. It's time you see that these "United" states are in serious trouble.

I'm not trying to engage in political debate here, I merely hope for your own good that you begin to concern yourself with your country's own problems and your incessant intolerance before making uninformed statements about others.

  • im gonna sue the office

  • which episode is the Sienfeld scene from?

    thank you.

  • @makpak it's from the season 4 finale entitled "the pilot"

  • Wow a joke used in many other shows doesn't make me change my mind at all I still love both shows

  • Wow one joke that many many other shows have done this doesn't make me change my mind about anything I still love both shows

  • Yeah, the joke is WAY older than Seinfeld.

  • Seinfeld's version is much funnier. The Office sucks

  • im sure jerry seinfeld watched this episode and laughed at it. why is everyone so iignorant.

  • 30 rock does it best

  • Except Seinfled is funnier than the officer

  • you mean The Office stole from Seinfeld...

  • office has stooped to a knew low...

  • @AtomFA you spelled new wrong...and really this joke is pretty done up...by many...and in terms of the office it was kinda expected...you just would not expect micheal scott to know that testing negative for cancer is good thing

  • @limetheleamer

    stop defending it

  • @AtomFA sorry...the office makes my day!

  • anusbutt

  • yes it was, seindeld was,, dude 75million+ viewers.. u dont get that from stealing jokes lol peace out

  • my world's fine, although now i'm aware of one more idiot in it which isn't so good. but yeah, in 30 years this joke was bound to come up more than once. if you wanna make fun of something the office stole, how about the original office?

  • @stancosmos it didnt really steal it...considering ricky gervais...the creator of the original is the executive producer...and really you cant compare the 2 anymore...the british office was great but only good for 2 seasons, with what, 6,7,8 episodes per season? the us office has been hilarious for 7 seasons, going on its 8th...u maybe had one or two bad seasons...so really the us office deserves more credit than the british!

  • aside from the fact that it might not have been inspired by seinfeld, i think it fits that 'office'-moron very well, considering how he always has that kind of retarded things.

  • @TheCallummoore thanks man.

  • actually jokes like this are used all the time. Larry must of taken it from someone else.

there are jokes in my language, which are very old, i mean the sixties, jokes like these.

i my self have used this exact same joke before id seen seinfeld, the office.. i didnt copy anyone... i just think of jokes and i came up with this... it was like a different tone, different facial expression... but the same joke.

  • It was also in Only Fools and horses in the 1980's....
