one of my dogs is part basenji and she loves this video. she doesn't quite yodel herself, but her bark isn't like a normal bark either. when i play basenji videos for her she cocks her head from side to side and whines- it's adorable!

My dog only does these sounds when she feel real lonley and is outside by herself. It sounds like a banshee. we have tried to get her to "sing" to our voice or music but she chooses not to. She does a single bark when startled which is always fun as she is silent 99% of the time. She has done a 10 second yodel several times why she stops I don't know. These are times when she is content and on the bed and we have been interacting with her.

As w/most "children", people seem to love the sounds of their own kids. (Also, those who post these videos seem to want the world to hear the singing and will coax the sounds by playing music.) Unless you're are a true Basenji lover, you can't love/appreciate these sounds. They usually vocalize when they're extremely happy OR extremely unhappy/lonely. Some will vocalize if they see something they want (and can't access). I'd say Basenjis are actually quiet most of the time. Mine have been.

These are African dogs that generally do not bark- but they have this way of finding each other in the jungle by screeching and howling. Where I live in the hills of California I can hear them from far away every time there are fire sirens around, but rarely other than that.

Oh no! Not at all. They only make sounds when you sing to them. Unlike other dogs that you tell to stop ALL THE TIME! I love my Basenji :)

Poodles and one other type of dog have human like dandruff. I've been fiercely allergic to dogs and we've had poodles without any issue all my life.

Despite what they say about allergy friendly dogs, this does not mean they work for everyone. I might not react to a breed, but you could. The best thing to do before getting a dog is borrow/take care of one and see if you react to it.
