  • It's actually an honor to watch you play, So inspiring! Keep on rockin!

  • Awesome Dan, as always.Really Love to watch you play.

  • @maxwelld1961

    thanks for watching bro!

  • @GrooveDrummin Your tuning techniques and playing would have made John Bonham smile!!

  • You're kit sound well nice man... Nice playin' too.

  • nice sound

  • Are you running any kind of internal dampening on the bass drum in this video? I love the sound you are getting out of your kick! Also, is it a clear or coated PS3 that your using?

  • @tjsnakez

none except a felt strip on both sides. PS3 coated with a falam pad. Thanks!

  • could yo u post a tutorial on the bass drum slide technique?.. all the videos ive seen are crap, and i cant get that stupid technique down.

  • @MXZCharlie

Ok, I've been asked to do another foot technique vid by many but if you check out the one I have up now, you may see the action closer up. For the most part, the slide technique is similar to throwing a stone and skipping it on the water but you're skipping on the pedal instead. I hope this helps a little.

  • you can really see and hear alot of influence from Bonham.....great playing man.....love your ascending and descending rolls.....i learned how to do them by messing around at home....they're alot of fun once you perfect them

  • @ChrisAmarillas03

    coolness!

  • Damn... Its like you want me to drop bass and pick up the drums haha. You sir are a badass

  • What kind of spring tension do you use?

  • @BleedingWalls420

80-90% of max tension, almost full.

  • awesome dude.

  • Please give some more lessons!

  • holy shit, you just blew my mind, awesome solo.

  • You are the consumate professional. A genuine talent. A really fine musician. You're playing shows versatility, composition, clarity, grand natural abilty, speed, chops, clarity, mastery of the kit and simple raw ability. What a pleasre to watch you play. I'm a fan.

  • Wow! Thank you so much for all the compliments!

  • I see you put a Powerstroke 3 back on, which is the same weight as an Ambassador, but with a built-in muffle ring.

Did you get the PS3 in Coated or Smooth White?

I've been toying with the idea of the traditional Bonham setup with a Coated Emperor w/felt and a Smooth White Ambassador w/felt on the front. However, I am liking the sound of the PS3 on the batter with the Smooth White w/felt on the front you have now!

  • Coated but I have to say that the coated single ply ambassador plays better and records better, more snap... I prefer it over the ps3. I'll be trying a coated emperor next. My reso is a stock single ply smooth ludwig head.

  • Amazing playing and great sound. Since this was only a sound check I don't think this matters, but I would take the position of the camera into account when panning the mics. Those extreme tom pans are not really necessary when everything is visually very close and tight.

  • Maaaaan?? u took some classes with john bonham and steve gadd??? you are so so sooo great. salute the greatness man so good drumming.

  • yeah, watch his other videos, he's awesome-

  • he is smooth

  • Very Nice Groove you got into Groove Drummin. I liked it. Nice technique, speed, dynamics and sound..5 stars!!

  • Hello,

What a great sound you have. Are you using coated ambs for tom resos?

Thanks for posting all the vids. Very inspiring!

  • coated emporers

    Thank you for watching!

  • This is such a great resource. Thanks for this wonderful production. Love the sound.

  • Snare drum is the best good solo

  • Another awesome video man. I'm gonna go play right now!!!!!!!!!

  • I have a really important question... what you think I should get a 9x13 rag tom or 14x10 rag tom?

  • For looks get the 10x14" but for sound I find my 9x12" tom the best. I have a 10x13" also but I find the 12" to have a fuller, bigger sound than both the 13" or the 14".

  • Dan THE Man !!!!

    5 Stars Danzo, great stuff.

  • The sound of the drums is awesome ! :D

  • very very nicee man

    love the configuration

  • LOVE YOUR SNARE DRUM,

  • i tried doin a short one on my kit but turned into a 10 minute video,id like to c ur recording process though,u have a good sound.

  • wut is the name that u put in front and your left and right side of drum? is it calls wall? or partition wall?

  • office dividers

  • @GrooveDrummin thats it? only office divider? because i also saw it while carter beauford/dennis chambers (dont really remember which one) and jewel drummer (woodstock 99). is it the same thing like yours?

  • Yes, I couldn't find the pictures to confirm but the good old fashioned dividers.

  • Amazing. Just remove the double pedal and you're set.

  • Thanks, I wanted to show some double kick.

  • for snare drum... what is a good way to practice introducing double stroke/buzz rolls into march patterns?

  • practice beginning the double stroke with your left. It's kinda like a kick start when going into anything.

  • Great playing!!

    Nice sounding kit!!

  • show off!!! lol. dude i still love the way those ludwigs sound. very very cool. you need to put out a dvd

  • Hahaa nicee :)

  • That's the stuff, man! That's probably what Bonham would sound like today with a double-kick pedal and a China cymbal!

    5 stars!

  • Thanks a lot Alain!

  • Dan, you Beast....

  • fukkin sweet, dude! 5 stars

  • great job man, love the Bonham feel.when we gonna get a tour and ur process of recording

  • Thank you.

I guess I could make a short vid on the gear.

  • lol 3 attemps to in sync video

awesome solo i saw all the videos lol xD

  • Yeah, I tried something different by using a 16 bit wav sound track and I guess that was the problem because when I searched the youtube help section I found out they recommend an mp3 audio track, which is how I've done all the other vids, now including this one as well. Thanks!

  • awesome job its in sync now

  • you absolute ****** haha that was damn tight. you showed your skill and even with the extra kick you kept a groove. you get a lot i know, but well bloody done man :)

  • You got it on sync now..lol No need to upload it any more..haha! Nice!!!!!!! 5*
