actually most of the detainees have had habeas corpus taken away from them, which gives them no chance for a trial anyway. also, it has been many more than that, 340 out of 775 have been released. out of that 435, 110 more are "ready for release"

Torture's true purpose: to terrorize--not only the people in Guantánamo's cages and Syria's isolation cells but also, and more important, the broader community that hears about these abuses. Torture is a machine designed to break the will to resist--the individual prisoner's will and the collective will. The US population. The Criminal Bush Gang should be tortured using their approved methods until they confess their crimes to the world. A war Crimes Trial should follow.

The Geneva Convention binds all signatories to treat prisoners according to its principles. It doesn't matter whether the country of the prisoners signed it. Apart from that, every one in Guantanamo is a PoW, according to the Convention, Art. 4

People who commit crimes should be brought to justice, receive fair trials, and, if found guilty, should be punished, not denied trial, kept in indefinite detention and mistreated. That's the way a just legal system works.

If a little torture on a criminal helps prevent the murder of innocent people, then that is money well spent. There are so far only 3 people who have been found innocent. I don't see how 3 out of 1000's is "repeatedly". On top of that, those in Gitmo are not mistreaded. The US is actually the most kindest POW treaters in hitory. The "torture" we do is the best way of getting info from the bad guys and another way of determining who is innocent and guilty.

actually most of the detainees have had habeas corpus taken away from them, which gives them no chance for a trial anyway. also, it has been many more than that, 340 out of 775 have been released. out of that 435, 110 more are "ready for release"
I don't know what you mean by innocent, but I think being released is pretty close to it

Certainly some people may be guilty, but if we are so sure of their guilt, why not just charge them in the US and let them face trial there? They will be proven guilty anyways right? And, some people I'm sure are degenerates, but I forgot when civilian deaths totalling 665 000 in Iraq were allowed to go ahead unpunished?

Maybe everyone should look at this logically. Amnesty is not advocating for freedom of these people, they are advocating that they be moved into US jurisdiction. In case you didn't know, Guatanamo is situated outside US legal jurisdiction, and so the rights of americans dont apply to these people. Which is definately unjust.

No, these guys are hardcore, they would love nothing more than to set off a bomb in every city throughout America. And I challenge you to go to the countries I've been to. Go to Iraq, Afghanistan, or Pakistan. There you will find these beasts in their lair and unless your well armed you won't make it back to report your findings.

Oh please. It's a good idea to keep Gitmo open judging from the number of ex-Gitmo terrorists that end up fighting our troops again. Where else do you want us to put those terorists? In Amnesty International's office? How about at the home of an Amnesty International member? Maybe AI should spend time going after real oppression like those found in China, Venezuala, Iran, North Korea, etc... and leave the folks in Gitmo to do their jobs.

Stick actual detective work in the circular file, and you get wrongful convictions and no justice served at all, in fact, you end up doign the terrorist organisatiosn a favour, because the prisoners relatives only know that their relatives are stuck in Guantanimo Bay or some other CIA blacksite for doing FUCK ALL, and at least some of them will want to do something back.
