The BEST thing for this is a topical numbing spray like durmoplast or solarcane. Probably too late for you now but get some and keep it for next time. It probably stays good forever. Once the itching starts, just have someone spray you down and it numbs your skin, it's freaking magic.

put some aftersun/intense moisturiser in the fridge over night next day slap it on-
brace yourself tho as it will be freeeezing cold but once its in, its so nice and refreshing!

Plus you had a good base if you had been at the beach all week using sunscreen. I never ever am able to tan, so forgetting the lotion fucked me hard.
