  • How about acceptance for all? I'm skinny, and people accuse me of promoting anorexia and food disorders, and think that I starve myself. So people can call me twiggy and anorexic and get away with it?! No way! I say love your body! Don't just accept it! If you really love your body, you'll eat healthy, exercise, and become healthy. Everyone has a different kind of healthy. Don't discriminate because of size! If I'm healthy and you're healthy, LOVE IT! Healthy is the new sexy!

  • LOVE this video, let our movement be heard!!!

  • wow beautiful, keep up with the weight gain girls and don't listen to the haters, I love big girls, I love when their belly hangs down below their knees, I'm looking for a fat girl i can look after, she would never have to get out of bed, I'd bring her all the food she could eat, damn i love fat girls

  • @Bananayoghurt1000

If you're not being sarcastic, then, sweetie, fly your flag high.

I just want to make sure that other viewers of this video know that Body Acceptance and Fat Acceptance is NOT about gaining weight. It's about loving your body as it is and having the right to do with it what you want without people hating and discriminating. It really has no major stances on gaining or losing weight.

  • @SuperDuperInterested

Well that demonstrates a stupidity and lack of basic historical knowledge that is far surpassing any that I've seen in a long time.

Around the early 1900's fat was in. And thin was not. Actually, there were drugs and the like made to fatten women up.

Also, what is and is not sexy is subjective meaning belonging to the opinion of the individual. Everyone has a different idea of what is beautiful and sexy and ugly for that matter. Math is less subjective...

  • Beautiful? Is this video saying that everyone is beautiful? If so then what standard of beauty are we talking about? If there is no way to define beauty then it is a meaningless word. If there is a definition, how can it include anyone. Obese people are gross. Society rightly thinks so because as animals we just know at an instinctual level that obese people are biological failures and their genes should not be passed on. Weakness is ugly and fat is a choice.

  • @xpoop315X

Beauty is subjective... So, everyone is beautiful because no one decides what beauty looks like for the world. Standards are there but only on the individual levels. If you don't like fatties... that's your problem.

Actually, fat people are biological sucesses because they tend to be able to survive when there's no food and it gets really cold... so those genes should be passed on according to you. However eugenics is pretty sick and twisted... you know, rather Nazi-ish.

  • @Iishieboo Well if I am ever a starving Eskimo then maybe I will think fatties rock. Until then, fatties represent a host of preventable diseases and health problems that are in place because they are somehow incapable of maintaining a caloric balance. They grind the cartilage off their knees, have high rates of type 2 diabetes, incur early infertility, heart disease, etc. Plus they wear their addiction like a coat for everyone to see. Not attractive.

  • @xpoop315X

Well, there's no actual proof that fat CAUSES those things. Just like African Americans have higher rates of diabetes but that doesn't mean that being African American CAUSES diabetes. That would be idiotic to think. But you're not going to believe me or anything and I have better things to do.

All I can say is that fat people are not going away. So, it's your problem if you don't like the look of them.

    I don't like idiots.. but I deal.

  • @xpoop315X

    Also:

Riiiiight. Fat people CHOOSE to be fat because we just LOVE LOVE LOVE being harassed by idiots like you.

Critical thinking, sweetheart. Lets actually use logic in our arguments, shall we?

  • u know as well as i do that, unarguably, being overweight is not a positive thing for your body. that is a fact.

just as you can try to stop doing drugs, you can try to lose weight, which what society should be encouraging. but you say "But if you're healthy or not, well, that's no one's business but your own."

so you think society has no role in promoting health? by ur logic, u dont think we should be promoting non-smoking, non-drugs?

non-discrimnation is important, but health is too

  • Studies have shown that overweight people live longer than people of "normal" weight. I suggest you read up on the many HEALTH BENEFITS associated with weight.

There's a huge difference between drugs and food. You NEED to eat to live. You DON'T need to do drugs to live. Not all people are fat because of food & everyone is healthy at a different weight.

  • there are maybe 100 studies that show people that ppl in the 'overweight' category, which you've obviously latched onto to justify promoting being fat, whereas countless thousands of studies show that obesity (being past overweight) reduces life expectancy by as much as 7 years..

do you not realise that obesity is one of the highest preventable causes of death in the world? how can you say that's no one elses business but ur own. lets not even get into the money spent on obesity by government

  • @magnum13th

I never said society shouldn't promote health. Society should promote health. But society today is promoting thinness, not health. Thin people can be unhealthy and fat people can be healthy. Promote HEALTH not body hate.

Promoting health or not, it's still no one's business whether or not I'm healthy. That's still my, and only my, business.

  • @Iishieboo so you agree that we should be promoting being healthy?

you just contradicted yourself, as this video IS promoting being unhealthy

it is ALSO promoting non-hate and non-discrimination against people who are overweight, which is obviously good.

however don't you think it should say 'oh btw, up to 300,000 deaths in america and 1million deaths in europe are attributed to obesity every year, so lets try and stop it' rather than 'lets accept it'?

  • @Iishieboo man you dont get it, you keep on saying thin ppl can be unhealthy and fat ppl can be healthy. society promotes thinness because the hard truth is that, by far on average, being thin is MORE HEALTHY than being fat.

if we're going to get into self-esteem issues, the majority of the world cannot even afford to buy the food to BE overweight anyway. perhaps more people should try to remember that

  • @magnum13th - Man, YOU don't get it. I give you name studies and you ignore them. You're not at all interested in conversation and an exchange of information, you just want to argue.

Health is moot. One's body is no one else's business. Period. Healthy or not, it doesn't matter.

Society doesn't care about health at all. Society is shallow. Want proof? Society praises people who are tan, even though tanning has been PROVEN to cause cancer. Society likes "pretty" things, not "healthy" things.

  • @magnum13th

Also, what does self-esteem have to do with people not having enough food to eat? That makes no sense.

Are you saying that people don't have enough to eat because fat people eat it all? And how would that relate at all to self-esteem?

How would people being able to buy more food make cruel assholes nice?

    What are you saying?

  • @Iishieboo society doesnt praise people who are tanned, people praise people who are tanned. yes thats right, because it *shock horror* looks nice =0

dont try and get on a high horse of non-superficialness, everyone is superficial in some way.

organisations actually tell people of the dangers of tanning.

exchange of information? ok quote me a study that shows that the health benifits of being overweight outweighs (no pun intended) the detriments

  • @magnum13th

People ARE society. Society is the large group of people. So, people promoting tan skin IS SOCIETY promoting tan skin.

Of course everyone is superficial in some way, but people don't have to be assholes. I don't go around laughing and making fun of thin people, or curly-haired people, or blue eyed people. That would be stupid. It's STUPID to hate on fat people, too.

Organizations tell the dangers of fat too. So, there you go.

  • @magnum13th

I told you. There was a recent Japanese study that shows that people who were "overweight" and "obese" lived longer than "normal" and "underweight" people. Go search it up.

  • because it is WIDELY ACCEPTED by the scientific community that being in the 'overweight' category leads to health problems similar to those associated with obesity, but to a lesser degree. (there is no debate that being obese is extremely detrimental to one's health). Just coz a few studies showed that 'overweight' ppl MAY live longer than 'healthy' weighted ppl, does not make it true.

  • @magnum13th

Just because it's "WIDELY ACCEPTED" doesn't mean it's true. It was widely accepted that bleeding helped people's health, too.

((There is actually debate about fat. Lots of it.))

Okay, so you're saying that the studies that say fat is bad are more true and reliable than studies that say the opposite?

Just because some studies showed that "overweight" people don't live longer than smaller people does not make it true.

Also, "healthy" weight varies from person to person.

  • its fair to say that on AVERAGE, being overweight (having excess body fat) is detrimental to ones health.

how do you not care? one's health is no one else's business?? u dont care that this video, altho making people feel better about themselves, might give some ppl a higher chance of dying? coz that IS the result of being overweight.

my point b4 was, compared to the rest of the world, everyone living in a first world country, no matter their weight, should count themselves extremely lucky

  • @magnum13th

No. It's not fair because you don't know everyone and their health and what of their health is affected by their weight.

I don't care about anyone else's health. I care about mine. And NO it is NO ONE ELSE'S business what my health is. People can do what they want. This video is NOT saying "be unhealthy" it's saying "be happy" and "leave fat people alone, you assholes" and "you are beautiful as you are." WHAT is wrong with that message?

  • @Iishieboo It is someone else's business when your body takes up most of the space on the airport and prevents us from being a little more comfortable than we should. That's not being happy, that's being selfish.

  • @krkrkrkrkrkrkrkrkrkx

Do you think I like being squeezed in close to other people? I don't. Trust me. I don't like touching you any more than you like touching me. I'm not comfortable either. But guess what? I paid for my ticket. If you want to take up the issue of small seat and/or not enough room, talk to the airline.

  • @magnum13th

Saying "love yourself" is not the same as saying "ignore that cancer you have," it's just saying "love yourself." You're reading far too much into the message. The message is just as simple as "love yourself." Period. If you're too thick to understand that, then, I can't help you.

Yes. I do consider myself lucky. However, that does not mean I'm going to just LET people abuse me just because I'm fat. That's idiotic.

  • @Iishieboo If you're not going to LET people abuse you because you're fat, perhaps you should start exercising then. Otherwise we're gonna keep making jokes about you using a trough instead of dishes at home when you make yourself dinner and there's nothing you can do about it.

  • @krkrkrkrkrkrkrkrkrkx

I can fight the stereotype. I don't have to change myself to be treated well. I deserve to be treated equally, period. If you don't think so and you're bent on treating people differently because of how they look, despite not knowing them (or perhaps despite knowing them), then you're a bigot.

  • @Iishieboo lol soz late reply,

reading far too much? it's about what's NOT in the message. it's really a very simple.

this 'movement' tells ppl 'accept that you're fat', and doesnt promote health at all. i think quite easily, one could take from this the idea that 'being fat is fine', when from a physiologically point of view, it isnt.

from this movement ppl might be happier, but more ppl might die. in my opinion ppl dying is bad

  • @magnum13th

That isn't a fact, actually. I think I've presented evidence that it' not a fact below.

No one's promoting fat. We are promoting loving your body for what it is.

You can "try" to lose weight, I guess, yeah... but 95% of everyone (fat or thin) who loses weight will gain it back and many gain back even more than they lost.

Food is nothing like drugs or smoking. You NEED to eat. You don't NEED to smoke. Comparing food to drugs is stupid. They're not comparable.

  • @magnum13th

Not every fat person is fat because of food. An illnes, medication and just naturally being big are factors, too. Saying that all fat people are unhealthy is allowing yourself to be close-minded and blind.

The government spends money on everyone. Should we hate on people who like extreme sports because they COULD get seriously hurt and it costs us a lot of money when they do? No. That would be stupid, wouldn't it? They should live how they like. And so should EVERYONE else.

  • fat acceptance is a way for all you fat fucks to justify being lazy.

you dont want to put in the work to keep your body in shape, so you praise "self acceptance" so you can continue to sit on your ass and shovel food in your mouth.

  • @mawumba4 finally someone with enough balls to say that

    i admire you

  • @mawumba4

Yeah, because fat people would rather be harassed daily, blamed for everything from starvation to global-warming, sexually harassed, threatened, sometimes physically abused, discriminated against by co-workers, bosses, teachers, peers, and sometimes family members, have most of the world tell us we're horrible people and lazy, and unhealthy even though no one knows anything about us, and have people call bigots like you brave... instead of working to be thin. That makes sense! Idiot.

  • this is a great vid i lov it:)

  • In developed countries, people tend to assume that everybody is suppose to believe that fat=unattractive. That is a "norm" that I would gladly throw at the window. I am attracted to big beautiful women. It is very positive to love yourself as you are, but also remember that there is a minority of people who are gaga over bbws.

  • Fitness is not hard, at all. It's very very simple and you feel amazing when in good shape. All you have to do is slowly (over the course of a year or so) cut out your bad habits and supplant them with good habits. Just go and do it, you have nothing to lose. (bad pun not intended)

  • it's true though, being fat isn't healthy... although being super skinny isn't either...

  • @fatgirlwithadream The difference is that a person with 5 to 20 extra pounds CAN be healthy, maybe they just love pasta..but a person who is over weight, or like the majority who come to vids like this, obese they cant be healthy...not in body or mind. Thats what should be dealt with, not this superficial making of issues...not pretending they are happy and beautiful, but trying to make it a reality.

  • @Morethanenough1

You assume way too much for me to answer all your questions. You assume that a person who is obese is not healthy. It is possible to be both. You also assume they are making no attempt to be healthy if they are not when obviously they could be.

All that aside, really we are talking about two different things here. You are talking health, I am talking happy. Yes, they can overlap but in the end, they are still separate issues. I'm sorry that you can't find your own happiness.

  • @fatgirlwithadream lol sorry but how many fat ppl do you know, yourself included would choose to remain fat if they could wake up thin? None.

So why choose to embrace and be proud of what makes you unhappy nstead of changing it and finding true happiness? Thats like a drug addict saying their scarred face from meth is beautiful and they are happy and healthy....or an anerexic saying her tuant sking and bones are sexy and she is healthy and beautiful...

  • @Morethanenough1

Again with the assuming. We are all different for a reason. I have no desire to be some cookie cutter stick figure girl. So, no, I would not choose to be thin.

Not everyone thinks the way you do. Please don't presume that I feel the way you believe you would in my situation.

In the end, neither of us is going to change the others' mind here. Good luck and be well.

  • @fatgirlwithadream Well there are alot of assholes out there and youtube is faceless so they can act as immature as they want. Didnt mean to insult you at all, but seeing my family deal with this issue makes it personal.

  • @fatgirlwithadream i said ppl should love who they are, but this obsession with "loving" and yes, being proud of being extremely over weight is not right or healthy. Loving yourself regardless of a bit of extra weights, a large nose, being short, ect great! Being proud and wanting others to not only accept you but tell you how wonderful you look when you are extremely unhealthy is twisted. No one should be mocked for looks but there are times when the extremely obese might not fit in a chair.

  • @Misperfect15 what languages do you speak?

and you see there is no reason to hate yourself you're really (beautiful) talented

can you send my a private message telling me your answer

  • i hate my body since the day i was brn ive always been bigger then the rest and i have always till now been made fun off ... it really sucks because in europe you just have to be skinny ... really ..

  • @grg61458 Honestly, do you really think that fatties would be depressed and have low self-esteem if we lived in a society that LOVED fatties? I highly doubt it. Your low self-esteem is not because of your size, it's because of the society we live in. Remember that. You are not defunct because of your body, society is defunct. If we lived in a world where fat was beautiful, your self esteem would be fine, and, possibly, your health would be better because it means a lot to feel good about you.

  • @Iishieboo

"I'm not crazy. I'm normal and the rest of the world is insane."

  • @chmureck Actually.... yes, in this case. ^_^

  • @grg61458 It might not be healthy for YOU, but everyone's body is different and takes things differently. For example, my father is the only one out of 5 siblings to have diabetes and he's the thinnest and the youngest out of his brothers and sisters.

Some people can be very happy while being fat. I am. I don't have high blood pressure or diabetes. My self-esteem is high even though it's a struggle to keep it that way thanks to a society that has a narrow definition of beauty.

  • "Be okay with your failures!"

  • if you are obese you should eat healthy to be healthy. if you're 400 lbs and healthy BY ALL MEANS. but that probably isnt the case

  • @aenimalindsy Well... probably means that it COULD be the case and no one can look at someone else and just decide if they're healthy or not. So, just remember that, even if the fatty doesn't want to climb the stairs, that doesn't mean he or she isn't healthy. Only they and their doctors know if they're healthy. So don't pass judgement. <3

  • @Iishieboo

Also, i think it's disturbing that you promote people to be fat when you clearly know nothing about health and diet. I guess you could blame that on the American fast food culture.

You might as well promote smoking. There are people over 90 years old who have been smoking most of their lives and they still live, but that doesn't make smoking healthy or good in any way. I think it's good that society rejects fat people.

  • @neverhoodyn I'm not saying people should get fat. I'm saying people should love themselves as they are... In this case, as a fatty. If you're thin and happy, wonderful! Be that! I wish you luck and love and happiness... as long as you don't fuck with me and my happiness.

Also, smoking is far, far different. People are not born smoking. People are, however born fat. You really just compared having junk in the trunk to smoking. HA!

    Your new nickname: Doctor Bigot!

  • @Iishieboo

People are not born smokers just as people are not born fat. You think being fat is all about genetics? That's a lame ass excuse for being a fatty. Yes, i compared them because they are both the result of a bad lifestyle and they both cause similar diseases.

  • @neverhoodyn People actually are born fat. And if not (as I was born only 4 pounds, 9 ounces) they quickly become fat (as I did, even though I was extremely active and ate healthily as a child).

Also, being fat is NOT the result of having a "bad" lifestyle. Lots of people are naturally fat (there's that genetics thing again).

But either way, it's none of your business to say if someone should be fat or even if they should smoke. YOU do NOT get to CHOOSE for OTHERS. Deal with it.

  • @Iishieboo

"Although genetic influences do have a significant influence on body weight, human genes do not change in the space of a few decades! Therefore the huge rise in obesity among all population groups, especially in America, cannot be accounted for by genetic influence or interference."

People can't advocate a healthy lifestyle now days? If everyone would accept smoking and obesity, we'd have ALOT more people dying from it every year. I guess we should legalise heroin then?

  • @neverhoodyn You're comparing apples and text books. It makes no sense so I won't respond to the stupidity.

I will however say, yes, you're right- genetics do have a SIGNIFICANT influence on body weight and we can't change our genes, now, can we? Well, wait, let me try to change my brown eyes blue...

    ...

... No, it's not happening. Guess I can't change my genes...

  • @neverhoodyn Also, in regards to a rise in obesity, some studies suggest that that's leveled off. But people are also getting more food with less nutritional value. Our bodies need nutrients and when we get processed foods, we loose a lot of nutrients which means we have to eat more.

You can advocate a healthy lifestyle but remember, what's healthy for you may not be healthy for me or anyone else. I'm healthy as I am. Therefore, you should advocate for me to be me. See? We're on the same page!

  • You are beautiful! Thanks for the vid!

  • It's time to stop listening to the government when they tell you how to eat because clearly they don't know what the hell they are talking about. Watch the documentary Fat Head, start eating real food (butter not margarine FFS) and watch the pounds start dropping off immediately.

  • Every day i look at my self and say today im going to start my diet...but i just cant...i have a boyfriend that loves me and thinks i am beautiful...but why cant i get it in my head..i wear bigger shirts so i can cover up my fat.i hate my body/.but i try to accept it i just cant..im a pretty girl and all..i hear it alot..its just my face might be prety but my fat aint :(

  • What we have to understand is that bad feeling is a head issue, not a waist issue. People have poisoned your mind in order to make you submissive and quick to barf up cash for worthless diets. Be fat. Be fierce. You can heal and take the best care of yourself ever without ever dieting again. How would you live if you thought of your body as perfect? Would you dance? Wear a bikini? .do it.

  • stop all this bs that fat ppl can be healthier than skinnier ppl. Put down the donut and coke, go to the gym, and you'll loose weight. I'm skinny because I work out when my ass starts getting big, and I find time to cook for myself, instead of letting some grease cook, "hook up" my food with extra butter behind the scenes in some fast food/restaurant kitchen. With the amount of time you spend denying this to be true, you could have hit the gym, ran, and worked off a pound or so.

  • Again, I'm vegan, fat, a great home cook and happy. I live by and am often in the park. You may be skinny, but you are not happy about you. None of my skinny friends are this bitter about me loving myself. Then again, they are not wallowing in their own self hate. I think you are. It is OK. We know you are not ready to feel happy with yourself and you are afraid to see other people happy and proud. But, really, shouldn't you get off your ass and do something about it? See a therapist?

  • Thanks, but maybe you should see one. I never believed in quacks.

  • @Nashara23 Why do you HAVE to be skinny? What if you'd rather just eat what you want and do what you want? I guess I'm average sized because I work out everyday and eat healthy (I'm bi: too many hot people for me not to excercise) but I hate it everyday because I'd much rather eat something delicious from Mcdonalds like one of those quarter pounders mmmmh. Plus excercise is evil: you can't breathe and you're heart feels like it's gonna die. Trust me: life would be allot nicer fat.

  • Oh yeah, now I remember something about Leonard Nimoy photographing chunky women. And they say that Shatner in weird.

  • @MrAssbaron Leonard Nimoy has taste. <3

  • @Iishieboo Affirmative,Captain...More woman to go around....more bang for the buck........It's only LOGICAL. Live long and prosper.

  • @MrAssbaron Peace, snookums.

  • @Iishieboo Right back at ya, Luv.xxx

  • You are beautiful!

    Jah Bless,

    Cinnamonslices

  • That's not true. Actually, when people love themselves, they may stop going on diets which actually hurt the body and not help it. I stopped going on diets and I'm healtheir than ever. Hating yourself is never ever healthy.

Besides that it is quite possible for fat people to be healtheir than thin people. Weight doesn't dictate health.

  • its not cool to bag people about their physical appearance...

but why is this vid promoting 'accepting being fat'?

it IS far more unhealthy being obese/overweight than at a normal 20-25 BMI weight

saying 'weight doesnt dictate health' is like saying the amount of cigerettes you smoke does not dictate whether you will get lung cancer, which is true

  • @magnum13th

This video isn't telling anyone to go get fat. This video is saying "be what you are, in fact, be the best version of what you are."

BMI is 170 year old bull, actually. The BMI doesn't take into account age, sex, body type, or even muscle mass. The person who developed it wasn't a physician at all, but a mathematician and even he said it shouldn't be used on individuals.

Weight and cigarettes aren't at all comparable. You need fat to survive, you don't need cigarettes.

  • @Iishieboo really the more i read your comments, the more baffled i am..

apparently this video is saying 'be the best version of what you are'. but not when that requires losing weight? (i understand the self-esteem messages)

you obviously don't think losing weight when overweight/obese is an important issue for health, if ur telling ppl they should accept and embrace this if it applies to them

i suggest you read up on the many HEALTH RISKS associated with being overweight

  • @magnum13th

I'm just as baffled with you, believe me.

Do you think a person's mental health should be risked because you think they're unhealthy? Uhm. I would venture to say, that's not a good idea.

I'm saying accept and embrace yourself no matter who you are. Fat or thin or whatever. Being okay with yourself and being happy is much more important than being what others think you should be.

I do read up on weight and the body. I study it. Trust me. I've read quite a lot. Thanks.

  • @magnum13th

Also, you can be fat and healthy (just like you can be thin and unhealthy). But if you're healthy or not, well, that's no one's business but your own.

The whole point is that no one should be harassed and belittled, discriminated against, or hurt for what they look like- fat or thin, tall or short, pink, purple, orange, blue, healthy or not.

Someone being fat or being unhealthy does not make it okay to abuse that person. Period.

  • @Iishieboo "This video isn't telling anyone to go get fat."

quote the video: "it's time to take each roll, curve, stretch mark, and be okay with it"

what i said before; why is this video promoting 'accepting being fat'?

dont talk bs about 'skinny ppl can be healthier than fat ppl',

ppl who do drugs CAN be healthier than ppl who dont.

  • Please take these negative a#$holes comments off your page they do not belong! I love you guys Big is Freaking Beautiful!!!!!!!!!

  • I got most of 'em, hon. Thanks!

  • I guess I don't know all that much about fat acceptance, but I would hope that it means that people should feel like they are valuable no matter what their size. That said, being obese is almost never healthy, and doing what you can for your health shows more love for yourself than doing affirmations.. The scale isn't the end all be-all of health, but it can be a good indicator that a person needs to make some changes.

  • If you can't do the things you enjoy, or do things with friends because they are too tiring or hurt, you've gotta change. Allowing yourself to be limited because you won't take active steps to health will suck the joy right out of your life. I know, I got fat and didn't want to play basketball with my friends anymore or play actively with my kids. It took me seven years but I'm alot leaner and life is far better than when I had a big gut and couldn't run 50 yards without getting out of breath.

  • I lost over 80 lbs in 7 years. I'll always be a pretty big guy, overweight by the BMI (6-3, 210), but I'll always be happy being that size. To lose weight, I didn't go to a gym or go on a stupid diet or take pills. Here are the changes I made in order 1Cut soda and fries out 2Walked 15 minutes both before and after work 3stopped eating after 7pm 4Got a dog who needed to be walked 1/2 hr daily 5Planted a vegetable garden 6Got a trampoline to walk/bounce in place during pm TV shows. That simple.

  • Oh yeah, one more thing, I made every effort to cut restaurant food out of my eating routine, and put whole grains, vegetables and fruits as my mainstays. It takes some prep work, but home meals are so much more healthy and nutritious than almost any restaurant whether it be fast food or sit-down. Making these changes has made a world of difference in my life.

  • good job ralph!

  • Some people don't want to be thin. I'm very healthy and very happy and I'm also fat. I love my body and I refuse to force myself to lose weight just because people think I should. The BMI is crap and was never meant to be used on individuals. It wasn't even developed by a physician, so, truely, it should have no medical standing. It take into consideration race, sex, age, or even muscle mass. Meaning a world class body builder with almost no fat at all can be labled obese according to the BMI.

  • @Iishieboo but you can tell the difference if your overweight with muscle or overweight with fat. common sense

  • @feces9999

Well, no, actually. Most fat people have lots of muscle because they need it to carry around the extra weight. While some thin people don't have much muscle at all but do have fat.

And what I'm saying is that the BMI labels everyone regardless of muscle mass (whether you can see it or not) and other factors that can alter it.

I mean, the BMI was made by a mathematician nearly 200 years ago. It's not even meant to be used on individuals.

  • my neice is becoming anorexic. she has arguments about eating. she gets really upset having to eat.

  • I LOVE ME! All 300 pounds of me. I'm cuddly, cute, happy, and healthy. I work every day to be healthy and I'm going to have a very happy life.

For those people who don't like it, instead of judging fat people, look at yourself and realize what a treasure YOU are. You are wonderful and deserve to love yourself as you are. Everyone is different, difference equals beauty.

I love you guys! Great video!

  • We love you!!!

  • @Iishieboo

300 pounds is not healthy. It doesn't matter if you feel healthy, your heart is taking a beating.

  • @neverhoodyn Thank you, Doctor. I'm so glad you know all about me from a couple comments on youtube. So... how tall am I? Hm? Because, you know, I could be 7 feet tall. But since you can deduce my health status from my comments, you know how tall I am, I'm assuming. Because, apparently, you're magic... and a doctor. Obviously.

  • @neverhoodyn

Actually, you know what could ACTUALLY cause fat people to have heart problems? Stress from others hating on them. Being judged causes hormones and chemicals in your body to release which can damage your heart. Fat people are hated on a lot, believe me. So maybe, it's not my fat that's killing me... because fat is a normal, healthy part of a body. Maybe it's you killing me.

Are you really worried about my health? If so, then you can accept my body and myself. I'm not changing.

  • @Iishieboo

Stress? haha that's the most bullshit excuse i've ever heard. Studies from the past 100 years have shown that fat has a strong connection to heat diseases ,diabetes and astma. You can't reject or deny these studies. Moderate fat is healthy for your body, but when you start looking like a whale it's time to get your lazy ass out of mc donalds and do some work out.

  • @neverhoodyn Again, thank you doctor.

But stress DOES hurt the heart. And fatties experience a lot of stress. Stress can kick up an asthmatic attack. I do not have asthma or diabetes, by the way. But you shouldn't blame anyone who does because it's all about genes.

Also, there are lots of newer studies that show that it might not be the fat, it could be the assholes that think it's okay to judge people. So if you want to read studies, read CURRENT ones. Also, look at who funds them. Thanks.

  • @Iishieboo

Genetics plays a role but if you are overweight your chances of getting diabetes increases by a substantial %. You are completely clueless. If you're hypothesis is correct then there should be a strong connection between ugly people and heart diseases or black people and heart diseases.

  • @neverhoodyn HAHAHA! Actually, there is lots of information on the higher rates of heart disease in black people. Now that we know you do your research....

Anyway, what is "ugly" and what is "beautiful/pretty/handsome/not ugly" is highly subjective so a study on "ugly" people and heart disease would be insanely difficult if not impossible to pull off. Just too many variables to make it a worth while study.

    Anyway, thanks for trying. <3

  • @Iishieboo

"Black people who contracted heart disease early were afflicted with one or more of the main risk factors -- being overweight, high blood pressure, low levels of "good cholesterol or chronic kidney disease. Chronic kidney disease, often the result of unchecked diabetes and obesity, was the largest risk factor for Black adults. Participants with this condition were 20 times more likely to develop heart failure. "

Yes, guess why? Because a high % of the black community is obese.

  • @neverhoodyn Maybe they had heart disease because they were fucked with for being fat, which goes back to the whole stress point. Stress weakens your whole body and can be a HUGE factor in lots of illnesses.

Also, yeah, a high number of people in black communities are fat (obese is a word saved for the BMI and that is too flawed to even mention). But people from different backgrounds/races have different bodies, naturally. There's also other, privilege based issues that I won't get into, here.

  • @Iishieboo

Again with your stress argument. Stress may play a part in heart disease but it's NOTHING compared what over whelming fat does to your body. If you honestly think that obese people suffer heart related illnessess due to stress only you are completely delusional.

  • @Iishieboo

Thanks for trying fatty, but you lose.

  • @neverhoodyn Thank you for trying, Dr. Bigot but I'm going to have to revoke your "Knowledge and Ruler of Everything in the World" card. It was never valid.

You're really think you're going to change me? Get me to "see the light" or some nonsense? Learn to accept people for who they are... you'll be a better person for it.

    KISSES! <3

  • @Iishieboo

oh yes, it was valid. However you live in denial and your brain won't accept facts that doesn't promote your lifestyle. You can deny my knowledge how much you want, that doesn't make it invalid.

"Learn to accept people for who they are" would you accept someone who raped and cut the throat of your child for who he is?

  • @neverhoodyn No, sweetums, it was never valid. Contrary to your belief, no one knows everything in the world.

Again with the comparing of things that have nothing to do with one another. Man, you have a bad habit of that, don't you?

I mean, I could totally take your answers and go "So you're saying that anorexia and bulimia are good for us?" but I'm smarter than that. But if all you can turn to is comparing these things to keep your argument afloat, be my guest. You're only helping my case.

  • @neverhoodyn Also, Doc, what someone eats or how often someone moves is not a moral judgment. I don't eat at McDonalds, my boyfriend (who is fat) is a vegetarian and works 6 days a week, physical labor while he goes to school. I buy organic, pesticide free foods and eat a meal once or twice a day. I have 3 dogs I have to take care of and a house to clean and I love dancing.

But even if I didn't that doesn't mean I'm a bad person. Get of your emaciated high horse and mind your own business.

  • @Iishieboo It's so amazing to meet people who could look past society's unrealistic demands and love themselves unconditionally for what really matters. I could never do what you do: I totally look up to you :)

  • @JadenTheCoolGuy

Well, you're a cool guy! Your name says so! And I'm very flattered by your comment. I've lived in stigma and shame and hate my whole life and I'm done. My body's beautiful, no matter how different it is. Your body is wonderful and perfect too. I'm not claiming to be better than anyone, but I will NEVER let anyone say I'm worse.

You're totally fighting for equality and body love just by being brave enough to say that you agree with me. You're awesome! Thank you so much!

  • You shouldn't allow yourself to be sucked into the lies that are reported by the media. There is just as many studies that say that people who are fat live just as long or longer than people who are of "normal" weight. It's not about size, it's about health. Just because a person is fat doesn't mean they're not healthy. Just because a person is thin, doesn't mean they're healthy. You should do your OWN research instead of just nodding your head to what the media says.

    ABOVE ALL, LOVE YOURSELF!

  • we were not all made the same. screw all you skinny people that can eat what you want and never gain an ounce. some of us are born that way. large boned

  • While there is a small chance that a person is actually large boned. Saying that one is big boned is actually a comfort for that specific person, it makes an excuse for their weight. If you are proud of who you are then stop making excuses for yourself. I don't judge people bc of the way they appear, fat or thin. There are good and bad people in both catagories. You can be big and be healthy just as you can be skinny and healthy. I say everyone should just love themself for who they are!

  • i love myself and am completely comfortable. i have a good heart and will do anything i can for anyone. i am a hard worker and no one looks at me as obese. my grandson love to sit in my lap since it is cushioned

  • Good! See all I was trying to get across was that everyone should love themselves. If you have a problem with yourself then you can change it. If everyone else has a problem with the way you look then so what, that's their problem. It's all about how you feel inside. :)

  • It's a great message, acceptance, but at what cost?

I have GERD, Degenerative Disc disease, sleep apnea and diabetes...all from being obese....and feel like a terrible horse mom riding my horse. My joints hurt, I get winded, I want to live to see my daughter get married....I have tried it all...no more fat for me. At the end it's gastric bypass time....I want a day to come that I no longer hurt and can trail ride with my daughter.

But Kudos to you! Acceptance is key!

  • you have all these problems from genetics.not from being overweight. i know plenty of skinny people that suffer from the same illnesses. stop eating acid food

  • 1. Being big can be cause4d by medical problems or medication

    2. Being big does NOT mean unhealthy (you can be very fit and still big)

    3. Large women have a very high level of low self esteem and depression.

    4. Despite those things, small minded tossers like you still make smart ass comments. Grow up.

  • your so cool and so smart. thank you

  • "Large women have a very high level of low self esteem and depression"

British women are the fattest women in Western Europe and think they are in perfect shape. French women are the thinnest women and wish they could loser more.

So who really does have the higher and low self-esteem ?

  • I love how you don't even have your picture up and nothing about yourself yet you attack other people's videos. That's what most people would call cowardly or an act of insecurity.

Think what you want to think.

You bring a whole knew meaning to the phrase "ignorance is bliss."

  • I love it!!!

  • haha... i love it.. it came out great.. i'm so going to post it on my friends myspace.. lol.. :)

  • claps and cheers!!!

  • amazing

  • love it. I

I like how Andi and I did the exact same thing in "you are beautiful"

  • one more similarity we have haha

  • this is AWESOME.

    <3

  • Thanks girl!

  • LOVE IT!

  • Thank you! =)
