  • Why the pictures of my fair lady?

  • Thank you for posting The Syncopated Clock.

  • "Mitchell Parish" (Michael Hyman Pashelinsky) must have been the crappiest lyricist of all time. If you want trite and vapid, try focusing on his words for Hoagy Carmichael's "Star Dust." There the delicately soaring melody redeems the moon-joon lyrics when they are sung. But in this song Parish really outdoes himself, gives us a song suitable for the Barney show.

  • What an amazing arrangement this is! This clip shows how beautiful the English language is. And the vocalist is really fabulous as well.

  • Ms.Barton..also co-hosted the CBS TV/Heather/Quigley tv game shows"Video Village"with Jack Narz and Monty Hall and"Video Village Junior"with Monty Hall.

  • I need more zong in my bong!

  • Thank you posting this wonderful version. Can you please tell me who the singer is?

  • I'm also singing this in choir =)

  • For Acemiturk:

Can you provide any details on the recording?

    Date? Female Vocalist?

  • ooh we aresinging this song in chorus and me and my friend katie are really excited about it!! This song is fun!

  • i dont really like this vid, your lyrics arent like well good, its like serously no1 cares about the pikkz just give us the lyrics and make them stay in one place on the page when its time for those words,....UgHHH

  • The man who wrote these lyrics in 1951, Mitchell Parish, was one of the most accomplished lyricists of the 20th Century.

  • We're singing this in choir :D

  • My class too, this song is soooooo annoying though. lol

  • gestört

  • i never knew this had words!

I think this is the song a local TV station in Louisville K-Y used to introduce their afternoon movie,

    Good video too.

  • When "The Syncopated Clock" was recorded in 1950, it caught the ear of the producers of a new WCBS-TV program called the "Late Show," a nightly showcase of vintage movies that was to be the station's first venture into late night television. The piece was chosen as the theme music for the "Late Show" and it helped vault Anderson's music into wide exposure. The "Syncopated Clock" was used on the show for the next 25 years,

  • The singer has such a cheerful voice. Nice one.

  • Mr.Anderson's Syncopaited Clock was used as the

theme song for WCBS TV Ch.2 NYC's"Late Show". The show opened with an image of figurines inside of

    a glass clock.

  • i remember in sixth grade we played this in band.

  • this isn't the whole song. i go to chorus and at the beginning its says something like tick tock ticka toka tick tock.

  • the newer version is better. This isn't even the whole song.

  • Hey, that's fun-lovin'!

  • It was fun to sing along. Thank you,

    Annephine!!

  • wtf this isnt the whole song

  • So . . . I do like this song, and not to be too picky about the video, but The picture at

45 Seconds in is of a compass and a sextant. Both used to navigate ships in the old days.

    Not a Clock.

  • Syncopated Clock is one of my favorite pieces, Leroy Anderson was always superb.

I've never heard before the words to this music but sincere thanks for posting this.

  • By the way, Mitchell Parish wrote the lyrics to this and this version is sung by Eileen Barton. Thank you very much for posting one of my all time favorites!

  • This is a beautiful song:) I know how do it on my instrument:) I hope my class does it for our upcoming concert:D
